@@musicfabiano I have no issue like that with my P515, mine sounds totally clean at all volumes. I would get in contact with your dealer or Yamaha while it is under warranty. Best of luck.
Good points made as usual by Chris. I must say Chris moves the P-515 around a lot better than I could - it is heavy. Must take a closer look at the external speaker.
Great points all around! Surprised to hear you guys mention loading it into your car and was nodding my head the entire time, and the same experience! Thanks for great content!
It just takes a little bit of thought to carry it in the backseat. Try laying it across the backseat, then grab some cushions, boxes, or blankets and stuff under one end, angling it up until you can close the door. Or roll down the window and have someone reach through it to hold that end up while you close the door. On some cars like BMWs the back bottom seat pops right out without tools, so remove the seat before you go to the store. Of course, you can also buy roof racks to carry it on top, (also handy for carrying home plywood/lumber from the big box stores.) Just make SURE you use enough tie downs on the front (for hard stops), back and sides. Don't be that guy on the news, out in the middle of the road looking at his cargo smashed to pieces from flying off the roof. Use extra rope to tie down the roof racks themselves to the car body, even if you have to run the rope through the interior and out over the roof. One last method is if you still can't close the door, use rope to hold the door as closed as much as possible, depending on how far it sticks out and how far you have to drive home, (at night would probably be better.)
Yeah sometimes this works. It all depends on the size of the car of course. There's a good comment on here about putting in the passenger seat footwell.
Good tips - particularly regarding the subwoofer. I'm using an old YST-MSW10 sub with my P515. Sounds great - definitely needed to fill in the low end since the built-in speakers are pretty tinny.
@@kododavid7202 The particular sub I was using required a headphone level audio signal - so I used one of the two headphone outputs on the front left of the P515 (used a right angle phono jack and taped the wire under the piano to keep it tidy). Hi Chris - I am considering upgrading from my current Yamaha P255 to this P515 model. I've been into my local store and had a test drive of it once and probably will pop in a couple more times before I make up my mind. 95% of the P515 I think is better than the P255 and I love it - the action and the piano sampling especially are divine. Couple of things I noticed though a) There is no dedicated transpose button on the P515 like there is on the P255. Looks like it's in the menu system, is it more cumbersome without the dedicated button do you think? b) The P515 doesn't have the 3-band equalizer sliders like the P255 - once again I guess this is in the menu system but it was nice for live gigs to have that equalization at your fingers tips. @@miguela.maroto9226 why? A lightweight digital piano with more sounds isn't an unreasonable request. I favour Yamaha and Korg over Roland, a lighter p515 replacement would be great, as long as the action didn't suffer from the weight loss. P515 is one of the best out there.
I guess it depends on what you're looking for out there. It is after-all a piano. At least it is much more portable than say an analog/acoustic piano heheh. And the P-515 piano sound - particularly the cf grand - is excellent. The bosendorfer sound is nice too.
@@flarfschnikelman6780 Thank you. I ended up getting the 515 in the end. It still didn't give me enough of a feeling of the escapement, but weirdly and happily enough, my piano teacher's new grand Yamaha actually doesn't too! So it works out quite well for me!
There's no official news about this but it wouldn't surprise me at all if there's something in the pipeline for the next 18 months. P-515 is reaching the end of a typical (Yamaha) product life cycle. Hope that helps! Chris PS: Sign up to our newsletter for the latest news on new product releases, etc here: www.epianos.co.uk/newsletter/
RD2000 (and Roland keyboards in general) are much lighter to the touch imho. They are great to play fast on and do have the resistance. BUT it is nowhere near "real" compared to Yamaha's action. NWX keyboard, which are not Yamaha's best keyboards mind you, still feel better than anything Roland has to offer. But that's just my opinion. You really gotta go out and test for yourself, as everyone's taste is different.
Do you know if there is a way to save a pre-set "piano room" piano that you've created? It just seems odd to me that you can go into piano room and tweak all the settings to find the perfect piano sound, yet as soon as you turn off the piano it forgets everything. There's gotta be a way!
There is: Press Function, then press Left, go down to System and press Right, then go down to Backup and press Right, then press Right again on Backup Setting - Now turn both Voice and Other to On. Now when you turn off the piano and back on you should find that all your settings and adjustments have been saved. I found this out myself after having the same problem of settings being wiped after a reboot so went digging in the settings, as i thought the same as you 'there's gotta be a way'. Its a bit puzzling why Yamaha would default this to off... Anyway, hope this helps.
That's quite a tricky one as both keyboards offer something quite different. The closest comparison I've made so far - that will cover many of the same fundamentals as P-515 vs DGX-670 - is this one: P-125 vs DGX-670: ruclips.net/video/dbjCzB87w4w/видео.html
Most 88-key instrument won't fit in a typical car on rear seats even without pitch bend/modulation wheel at the side. Who is transporting keyboards like this or even any keyboard in a car without a case or even gigbag? With this particular piano, you're gonna damage the side cheeks very fast doing that. The shiny black plastic gets scratched very easily. Anyway, it is a great instrument.
Both Yamaha L7 stands will work nicely. The only difference is the colour. Only the L7 in black is made now specifically for the Genos keyboard. We often have preowned silver ones on our website though.
is the Bosendorfer sound on P515 as good as the Bosendorfer on CLP-735 or 785, or the Montage Bosendorfer sound? DariaPiano said Bosendorfer sound on P515 is kind of hollow but I am not sure if it was due to settings
@@ferdearmas8732 I have play them all and the best key action of those options is the Roland FP-90. Kwai and Yamahas piano sounds are better. Still I bought the FP-90 better key action, pretty nice key touch/feel, triple sensor great for Midi, lots of very very cool usable sounds and all the shaping options for the piano sound that makes it sound pretty decent. But if you're looking for the best digital piano, go for Kawai's MP11SE digital piano. In my opinion best key action (closest to grand piano) and beautiful piano sounds. But no speakers, pretty heavy (around 80 lbs), very few sounds (no organs, pads, etc).
@@manoloespitia1898 Thanks for reply my friend. And what do you think about cheaper key actions like: Roland FP10/30, Yamaha P125, Korg D1, Casio PX-S1000 and Kawai ES110?. Which is better (faster, more nimble, confortable and reliable) for you?.
@@ferdearmas8732Hello again, in my opinion, in that range, I would go for the Kawai ES110 because it has nice sound, good action, great responce (best in this price range); everything to make it perfect for music with lots of dynamics. The Roland FP 10, 30 and 60 have the same action wich is great; the heaviest key action in this range, closes to grand piano (again, in this price range and a little better than Kawai's ES110) that make it great for building tecnique to play on acoustic pianos. But the overall sounds in it maybe not be as good as Kawai´s, same with speakers altho using the FP series with headphones the games changes because of its "Headphones 3D Ambience". Yamaha P-125 has an good key action (much lighter than Roland's and very similar to Kawai's) and the sounds are pretty good specially the EPianos and organs. (I bought 2 for piano lessons and never have had a problem with them). Casios PX series, sadly, has a huge flaw in it's action. They look great, sound decent, they are amazingly slim and light weigted but the key action is horrible so I strongly advise you to NOT even consider them. I have not play that Korg model so I could not give you my opinion. It all comes to what you want it for. Studying tool to perform in acoustic/grand pianos? Stuying using only headphones? Giggin and practice equipment? Are you looking olny for the piano sounds or the electric pianos, organs, strings and pads too? Conectivity? The use of Apps? If you do not have some thing specific in mind I would go for either Kawai Es110 or Yamaha P-125 wich are the more rounded options. And If you like to share what are you going to use it for; I can give you my opinion on will be the best option for you.
The p515 fits on L7B stably? Because on the specs of L7B has mentioned max. weight is 19kg. I'm wondering to buy the L7B for my p515 if there is no problem.

We've had very few significant issues reported by customers (and we've sold hundreds!). Generally speaking, Yamaha stage pianos are built to a quality that is unmatched in the industry. I even accidently smashed one through the back windows of my car on the way to a gig once. The keyboard survived without fault! The poor car repairs cost me a fortune!
Hello, i was told at the yamaha store that the SW 100 is just a sub and not a full external speaker??? Is there any other model number for this? Do you connect it via the in out aux jacks? Thanks so much
Hi, which key action is more confortable, reliable and which feels more balanced and better playing near at the fulcrum between this P515 and Roland FP90?... Thanks!.
I tried both these last week. A keyboard action is so personal..regards the P515 and FP90 there isn’t a best. I found the P515 to be heavier but it has a fast spring back....so very quick playing is easy. Where as the FP90 action feels initially lighter but has a kind of clicking sensation at the bottom as though a hammer is being released. I’d be satisfied with either but if I had to choose I’d pick P515....I preferred the heavier keys but unlike some heavy keys it wasn’t sluggish....the action felt smooth and easier to play. Both have wooden effect keys which make the keys feel stiffer and higher quality.
@@sheffsteel7 Thanks for answer my friend, so FP90 has a slower key return than P515?..., and what do you think abut PHA4 key action in FP10 against FP90 and P515?.

I’ve tried both, and in my opinion the 515 is better. It just has the aesthetic that is most similar to an actual acoustic piano
@@flarfschnikelman6780 Thank you. I ended up getting the 515 in the end. It still didn't give me enough of a feeling of the escapement, but weirdly and happily enough, my piano teacher's new grand Yamaha actually doesn't too! So it works out quite well for me!
@@Bonecrusher27WTF glad I was able to help!
do you think the 515 is due an update anytime soon?
There's no official news about this but it wouldn't surprise me at all if there's something in the pipeline for the next 18 months. P-515 is reaching the end of a typical (Yamaha) product life cycle. Hope that helps! Chris

I have played the RD2000 from Roland, how does the action compare to the P515, both have wooden internal keys..Thanks
The Roland only has wood on the sides.
Yes yo can
There's a MUCH better way. Download the Smart Pianist app. You can save all your settings and setting variations to your tablet.
@@MarkP_Fan Where can I find this app?
Thanks for the info. Which one would you recommend a P515 or DGX670? Which one is better?
I was transporting korg b2 few days ago and it fits absolutely fine
I love how this shows up literally an hour after I drop two grand on this piano.
Thanks RUclips
My Yamaha P125 will fix in the back seat of my four door Jeep Wrangler with no problems!!
Great news Jacob! You can learn more about the P125 on our website here: www.epianos.co.uk/shop/yamaha-p125b-portable-piano-in-black/
The L7 stand was mentioned. But, I'm only aware of L7-B (for the Genos) and L7-S (for the Tyros). Exactly which L7 is compatible with this keyboard?
Both Yamaha L7 stands will work nicely. The only difference is the colour. Only the L7 in black is made now specifically for the Genos keyboard. We often have preowned silver ones on our website though.
Very useful points.
is the Bosendorfer sound on P515 as good as the Bosendorfer on CLP-735 or 785, or the Montage Bosendorfer sound? DariaPiano said Bosendorfer sound on P515 is kind of hollow but I am not sure if it was due to settings
The P515 sounds great especially the Bossendorfer sound but the action is far too heavy and stiff feeling.
Hi, and which digital piano key action did you prefer?, Roland FP10
/90 or Kawai ES8 or this Yamaha or other choice?.
Did you try playing on it's softest setting?
Can someone please indicate the name of the demo song that the P-515 piano plays in the CFX-Grand section?
Is it true there is a problem with the G6 key?
Hi, should I buy a P-515 or a CP-88? Do they produce the same piano sound (with the same type of piano)?
Hi Karen. You might find my blog comparing those models helpful here: www.epianos.co.uk/yamaha-cp88-vs-p515-lets-talk-teabags/
@@ePianoscouk ok sure, thanks for your reply!
HELLO, I HAVE A QUESTION; IS THE YAMAHA CP88 AS GOOD AS THE YAMAHA P515?
That's a difficult one to answer. They both offer different things. You can see my Yamaha CP88 video here: ruclips.net/video/ozqRbQMrOxY/видео.html
I've heard the DGX670 have a little weak amplifiers so are the nssw050 or nssw100(Yamaha subwoofers) compatible with the DGX670?
I have checked P515 is 22kg.
The p515 fits on L7B stably? Because on the specs of L7B has mentioned max. weight is 19kg. I'm wondering to buy the L7B for my p515 if there is no problem.
Personally I found the P515 fits comfortably and safely on the Yamaha L7 stand. We sell the black version on our website here: www.epianos.co.uk/shop/yamaha-l7b-deluxe-stand-in-black/ - Plus we often have pre-owned versions for much less. Let us know if you'd like one.
Anyone know if you can add a forth pedal and set it to do strings?
Can the triple sustain pedal attachment be used with the L-Stand ?
The triple pedal unit (LP1) can only be used with the Yamaha L515 wooden stand
any issues with faulty keys on these?
We've had very few significant issues reported by customers (and we've sold hundreds!). Generally speaking, Yamaha stage pianos are built to a quality that is unmatched in the industry. I even accidently smashed one through the back windows of my car on the way to a gig once. The keyboard survived without fault! The poor car repairs cost me a fortune!
How far can you carry a p 515?
Hello, i was told at the yamaha store that the SW 100 is just a sub and not a full external speaker??? Is there any other model number for this? Do you connect it via the in out aux jacks? Thanks so much
Yes, the SW100 is a subwoofer only. You can see our speaker options here: www.epianos.co.uk/speakers/
Great points! Would you say that the car transport issues will be the same for Yamaha Modx8 synth?
#6....does it have Bluetooth?
Yes it has
The Price ?
God I want it so bad
Has god done anything about your wish yet?
Which piano.....not what
You're correct. But more people actually search for 'What piano....' So in this case it's sensible to go with.
Hi, which key action is more confortable, reliable and which feels more balanced and better playing near at the fulcrum between this P515 and Roland FP90?... Thanks!.
I've seen you on so many videos asking questions, why don't you go to the store try the pianos and decide for yourself?
Personal taste; P515 > Kawai ES8 > Roland FP90 in terms of key-action and how they feel.
@@Wistbacka Thanks for answer mate, and what do you think about Roland FP10 key action?.
@@sheffsteel7 Thanks for answer my friend, so FP90 has a slower key return than P515?..., and what do you think abut PHA4 key action in FP10 against FP90 and P515?.
Goofy
I have a P-515 and I can't believe you video. Realy you reject a P-515 because is too big for your back seat of your car?, probably yes if you are a transporte but if yoi are musician of course NO!.
Right, I agree that for you a P45 is more than enought or may be a Casio, but discard a P-515 is a cracy.
Have you ever heard about binaural sound ? , the CFX, the bossendorfer, the interaction sound , No, of course. This explain that.
The P515 is not for you but please, don't supose that all the people is like you.
One thing, hear a P-515 ( if you can) and later tell me that is a bad, annoying and sturdy piano. You are qualifiying yourself.
Thanks Miguel. I think you've misunderstood the purpose of this video. I certainly do not 'reject' the Yamaha P515. In fact, I think it's the best stage piano that Yamaha have ever made. I made this video to help people by answering common questions that we have about it before people buy one from us. Judging by the comments on here, and the number of emails/phone calls I get about it, folks have found it quite useful. There was NO rejection in this video!!! 🙄
This is great! Thank you!
