R.I.P MEATLOAF ❤️🥺
;((
There were MANY movies represented...
Frankenstein chased by the villagers in the opening.
The Hunchback Of Notre Dame when he was sitting in front of the fire.
Bram Stoker's Dracula in the bedroom scene with the two other women.
and, of course, the over-riding theme of Beauty and the Beast
The girl is lipsincing. He does say who the female singer is but she is an unknown otherwise.
This Genre my dear is what is called Rock Opera. Meatloaf was the King of Rock Opera.
Are you forgetting about "Quadrophenia" or "Tommy", by The Who?
@@danjoda755 I am speaking of a career of Rock Opera. Not 1 Album etc.
As a lifetime fan, I certainly concede that Jim Steinmann wrote rock operattas. Not the usual "verse-chorus-verse" style, but "movement to movement" compositions. Jimmy and Meatloaf were creatively brilliant, without question. I was enthusiastic throughout Meatloaf's career and as a guitarist, thoroughly enjoyed figuring out accompaniments as each album came out.
I was calling attention to the other full length true "operas", without even mentioning "The Wall" because a developing understanding of music history and evolution deserves some in depth information. ☮️
Debatable, he is great but you can't rule out queen or the who
You mean Jim Steinman.
Don’t care how many times I hear this, I think of my wife. The end were he adamantly says he won’t move on and screw around, I break down in tears because that’s how I feel about her.
Any song written by Jim Steinman and sung by Meat Loaf is a invaluable treasure. And yes, there's a Beauty and the Beast vibe to it.
This!!!!! 💯❤🤗
Any song by Jim Steinman period..RIP Jimmy
@@donaldclark8086 Jim's talent was otherworldly.
Any song written by Jim Steinman, period. Total Eclipse of the Heart comes to mind.
The actress/model Dana Patrick in the video, , is miming to Crosby's vocals....More Great Meatloaf songs to check out: Two out of Three ain't bad - Rock and Roll Dreams come though - You took the words right out of my mouth
Also check out (Celine Dion - It's all Coming Back to Me Now - I Drove all Night) Also very theatrical and Great voice in a Mansion) You'll love all of these if you liked this one!
She got horribly ripped off by Meatloaf and his record label as they told her this was a guide vocal and as such legally only had to pay her a one off union rate fee despite using it on the actual release. He'd done the same thing to Cher of all people about 20 years earlier on the song Deadringer.
EDIT: The UK version of Celine's Drove All Night is a horrible electronic pop abomination, maybe the USA version is better. Anyhow, the best version of that song by a million miles is Roy Orbison's not released during his lifetime original version.
Debra Crobsy's vocals
RIP Meatloaf….you had a great voice and inspired any to your classical renditions.
Meatloaf and his music Writer/Composer came from the Stage Performers and these songs are Productions like a Act of an Opera... What I love about Meatloaf is that he made being a big man that could sing welcome in a industry of skinny, perfect faces and bodies; If you have the talent, Kick in the DOORS!!!
Yes Meatloaf in a documentary discussed he was "this 300 pound sweaty guy on stage with ruffled wrists and collar shirt doing a theatrical production to a rock song in a world or skinny rock stars".
She should see him in Rocky Horror Picture Show
I loved seeing a fellow fat man rock out.
I've heard that when he was doing The Rocky Horror Show on stage, the actor playing Frankenfurter didn't show up one night, so Meatloaf did the part. In lingerie, garter belt, and stockings no less. If I ever invent a time machine, that show would be on my list of things to see.
Meatloaf has definately been miissed over the last year. He was not the kind of entertainer that comes along once in a lifetime or once on a generation.. he is the type of performer that comes along once..... ever!!! There will never be anyone like him again. RIP to a true legend
This was amazing rock opera. Meatloaf is the GOAT!!! This song is amazing!! Xxx
This is a classic. Timeless. His voice is haunting.
From the same album is Objects in The Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are...superb video and a semi autobiographical song
That is a powerful video.
That video makes me sob every time.
Meat loaf is the power house and this song is bout beauty and the beast
People say that The Phantom Of The Oprea is the angel of music but ,no its Meatloaf, Rock in peace brother. And yes I always get beauty and the beast vibes from this video.
He was the king of Theater Rock R.I.P.
The female singer is Lorraine Crosby and the actress in the video is Dana Patrick who is miming the words.
You are spot on girl. It is one of his many treasures. Her name is Lorraine Crosby. Jim Steinman was a writing genius and Meatloaf was a 2nd to none theatrical performer. The 2 never got the credit they deserved and sadly Jim is no longer with us.
So glad you enjoyed this one! Yes, our mighty Meat can sing his butt off! This was the song that introduced me to him at the age of six, and nearly 28 years later, I still get chills when I hear those opening lyrics.
As others have mentioned, Lorraine Crosby is the singer, Dana Patrick is the model in the video.
The song was written by Jim Steinman, who passed away in April, so thank you for sharing his beautiful songs with all your subscribers! :)
Nope. the femaie singer ist Patti Russo. And it was a very strange and very sad story around that, because she wasnt mentioned correctly. meatloaf appoligizes to her 3 years later and from that on, she was allowed to sing the part officially
THE Vibe is very much
Beauty and the Beast ❗
The woman singing the
BRIDGE part is Lorraine Crosby.
If you didn't get it from the beginning lyrics, he was saying "I will do anything for love, but I won't lie."
He also won't cheat. "'Sooner or later you'll be screwin around.' 'I won't do that.'"
@@mistymichelle9957 True, but the won't lie thing is usually the answer he gave when asked what he meant.
I loved Meatloaf he is the king of rock opera and her voice was beautiful. Perfection!
“And I’ll never lie to you and that’s a fact” is what Meatloaf won’t do for love.
He'll never screw around.
the tempo changes in this classic are great, that voice is brilliant, thank you mr loaf
The female vocal from UK is Lorraine Crosby from Newcastle England
There's so much to check out from Meat, he's just a phenomenal singer. Two out of three ain't bad is fantastic, objects in the rearview mirror may appear closer than they are will make you cry, and bat out of hell will get you so hyped up! All are must hears!
The actress was lip syncing for Lorraine Crosby. Yes, meatloaf liked Beauty and the Beast. He was one of the few Rock Opera performers of our time. If you ever get the chance check out his performance in 'Rocky Horror Picture Show'. This was mine and my wife's song, so happy that you were the first reaction creators to watch.
The actress was Dana Patrick, lipsyncing to Lorraine Crosby. Meatloaf wanted it to be Crosby but It was a common practice by producers back then to bring in (more attractive) people for aesthetic purposes. Dana Patrick was a model at the time but I think I heard she CAN actually sing, even if she didn't...
@@rf3162 Karla DeVito who mimed for Ellen Foley in "Paradise by the dashboard light" was a singer herself too.
All these years I thought it was Bonnie Tyler singing.
The video "I'd Do Anything For Love(But I Won't Do That)" created by the great #MichaelBay with the lyrics by #JimSteinman and performed by the wonderful rock opera singer #MeatLoaf with the vocal accompaniment of #LorraineCrosby and the model in the video #DanaPatrick is something spectacular, #MeatLoaf's unique and unmatched vocal range in the extended version of the CD "Bat Out Of Hell II : Back Into Hell" of 12 minutes 01 seconds leaves you breathless, the two The video and CD versions are unique, as was #MeatLoaf with the tenor vocal register that made him one in a million #MeatLoaf was unique, special and a wonderful human being... #MeatLoaf will live forever in our hearts.
One of the most beautiful duets ever. 💙
This such a theatrical video. Meatloaf's voice alone can convey so much emotion. I love this video. Thank you choosing to react to the music of my generation. This came out when I was in high school or not long after I graduated. you are. It does bring the impression of Beauty and The Beast.
This is an amazing w and video. I’m so glad you enjoyed it as much as I do. Meatloaf is absolutely amazing
You can't go wrong with Meatloaf. Great reaction Jayy, love your work so much. Thank you.
Thanks gorgeous!
The amazing world of the late Jim Steinman and the mighty, mighty voice of MEATLOAF!
The unique stylings of Steinman and Meatloaf are a perfect fit for each other!
The theatrical qualities are perfectly suited for Meatloaf’s overacting!!
It IS THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST!!
The female singer is Lorraine Crosby aka "Mrs. Loud". The woman in the video is not her, but an actress lip-syncing to Crosby's vocals. Lorraine Crosby is an English singer who was only supposed be in the studio to provide guide vocals for Meatloaf to play off, but they were so good they were kept for the release.
The woman in the video is an actress. The singer is Patti Russo. She sang and toured with meat for years. She's a solo now.
As others have said Jayy, the real singer on this song was Lorraine Crosby, a geordie (jaw-dee) girl from the North-East of England. The girl in the video is a model, Dana Patrick. The stupid thing is Lorraine got nothing out of it, yet Dana was offered 3 record deals!
Very true, Lorraine a great artist, saw her a few years ago at one of her shows, she was amazing 🎵🎵
Many years ago there was a Meatloaf concert coming to town labeled as Meatloaf and friends and the DJ could not figure out what that meant. !!! All of Meatloaf's best song are a duet with him and a girl. The concert might not have been the woman from the studio album but he needs a woman for the good songs
That was really common, especially during the MTV era of television. Sign a hot girl while someone else actually sings.
@@nihlify sounds like a touch of the milli vanilli’s
This video and his video for the song “ Objects in the Rearview Mirror “ we’re both directed by big time Hollywood Director Michael Bay
It is that's why I love the song
Jayy I believe you will love this. Iam giving it a quick thumbs-up!!!
OMG my favorite by Meatloaf! Love this! It reminds you of that because it's totally based on the beauty and the beast story! 🤣🤣♥️
Great song! Great reaction! Bat Outta Hell is also great!
So powerful makes anyone emotional
I have always absolutely loved Meat Loaf! What an incredible performer! The music is always bigger than life, and he has an awesome voice! By the way yes, this video has always reminded me of Beauty, and the Beast!
Ye l l agree big meat loaf fan his voice just shakes our ears and soul
Its beauty and the beast.
RIP! What a journey u took us on!
It's a classic song. This was my introduction to Meatloaf when it came out in 93 and I was 8, my older Brother was a big fan of Meatloaf and got me into his music. I do enjoy I'd do anything for love but it would probably not be in my top 10 Meatloaf songs.
Meatloaf came out in 1978 with "Bat out of Hell".
This came out long before 1993.
@@williamjones6031 Bat out of Hell 1 was released in 1977. Bat out of Hell II: Back into Hell was released in 1993 with I'd do Anything for Love (But I won't Do that) as the opening song.
@@terencepat7301 Sorry. My bad. I must have been asleep (or at sea in the Navy) I thought it came out sooner than that.
The song It's all Coming back to me Now was originally intended for Meatloaf, but it ended up going to Celine Dion, and being a big hit for her. Meatloaf later released his own version. You should check it out. Great rendition.
Thats what I said .. its so much more powerful and haunting
Great reaction ❤️
Great reaction! Love your hair!! Looking great 🤩
💜💜💜Gosh another fantastic song from my youth! 💜💜💜
He has an incredible voice!
Love Meatloaf’s voice!
Meatloaf is a musical genius. He's also awesome in Rocky Horror. 😆
Welcome to Vagnerian Rock! loved the reaction!
His band is amazing.
Great song, great reaction, and geez you look good girl!
This is an experience for everyone to see an hear
I'm loving all you young ones discovering the soundtrack of our youth, there was some phenomenal music at the time...
In the words of a particular influencial music journalist (a guru really, and the one person a lot of musicians would only talk to) at the time, "Do y'self a favour" and sit down with as many of the albums and singles (not video clips if you can avoid it) as you can get your hands on, and listen to them in the order they are listed on the album sleeve, you will not regret it, and you will come away with a better appreciation of the talent and power of both Meatloaf, the singer and performer, and Jim Steinmann, the composer and lyricist of the music on the albums, as well as pieces for other artists like Bonnie Tyler and Celine Dion, to name but a couple...
It truly is a worthwhile experience... ;))
It's my go-to in times. Love to see it in reations!
Yeeess.. the beauty and the beast is what I think of.
This was directed by Michael Bay which explains the blockbuster cinematography. That was a model lip-sinking the song. Try Meatloaf, "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad." ✌❤🌹
He had previous experience in musical theater. This video is basically a theatrical production.
The woman’s name is Lorraine crosby
You need to watch more of his video's. Meatloaf was one heck of an artist and showman...
Objects in The Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are ..must see !!
A brilliant song, and the beauty and the beast theme song should definitely be your next reaction video xxxx
Cute smile at the end. Dude. More Meat Loaf!
Jayy, I know the issue is about not getting blocked, but that frame was hard on the eyes, and the thumbnail video was impossible to see. Loved your reaction though, in a different life you would definitely be among my circle of friends. Stay well 🌹👼
I love your Chanel. I love meatloaf but it is bitter sweet not long after he passed away my mum passed away as well so I get so sad when I hear him
Yep, there was a Beauty and the Beast vibe to it, and also Francis Ford Coppola´s 1992 version of Bram Stoker´s Dracula with the three ladies in the big bed, I think Meatloaf or the director of this music video had watched the movie and got the idea from it ....
The great Jim Steinman wrote this song as he did most of Meatloaf's hits! Please try "For Crying Out Loud" or Bonnie Tyler doing "Total Eclipse of the Heart"! Mad props to Tray for your exit music!!! #Talent!!!
Oh 👀my God🤘😎🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🎸🎸🎸
That's what he was doing beauty and the beast
Beauty and the Beast meets Dracula with a little Phantom of the Opera thrown in, as a treat 😂
Heaven can wait is one of my favs from meat loaf! Try that one too! Beautiful
Yep it's Beauty and the Beast. This video was directed by Michael Bay (Transformers, The Rock, Armageddon, etc.)
It's refreshing to see the younger generation enjoying true music. I'd recommend Two out of Three Ain't Bad
Yesssssss
ROCK OPERA!!!! His concerts were like his video's Just theater all the way through them.
He was into Musical theater . ... that why every thing like a musical in Broadway...Lorraine Crosby is her name
The video was inspired by "Beauty and the Beast", "The Phantom of the Opera" and "Bram Stoker's Dracula" (the film that had been released the year before) and was directed by Michael Bay, perhaps most known for Armaggedon, The Rock and the Transformers films (depending a bit on your generation).
This one is basically based off the fairy tale beauty an the beast. There's a part 2 to this song I think it's called I'd lie for you.
YAAY 1,000 thumbs up !! you're welcome ;)
jayy everyone is beautiful in anothers eyes, may not be yours may not be mine but beautiful they are in anothers eyes xx
This is how people who have been hurt to much are! It great now, but give it time and it will turn to dust!
Hi Jay yay glad you reacted to this song…..yes this is Beauty & Beast Meatloaf style lol 😂…… the singer is Lorraine Crosby…. Yes so fiddlesticks 🤬 good , hehehe
That was Rock Opera at its best
Meatloaf's songs are very visual and theatrical. Operatic, if you will. His song "I'm gonna love her for both of us" Is my favorite.
One of my favs also. I watch the stage performance with the woman in white. Is there another version you'd recommend?
@@bmee3901 Besides that one, there is a live one "Meat Loaf 1982 - I'm gonna love her for both of us ao vivo" and that's about all that's available. Not many videos of this song, unfortunately.
We lost a great one this year RIP Meatloaf
Her name is Lorraine Crosby. She’s an English singer
It's sad to say that Meat Loaf passed away this week at 74 He was a great singer and actor
This is what you call a rock opera. 🎭🎤🎼
This was a very great song anz video
I've been waiting for you to do this one. After Paradise by the Dashboard light.
"I won't do that" refers to what she said about him screwing around. He was claiming that he would be faithful.
Yeah Two out Three ain’t bad is a great song. It’s timeless
Yessss! My personal favorite!
"Bat Out Of Hell" the title track from the album, was the first big hit. You MUST react to that video. Pure genius.
It's like B'way married Rock and Roll
12 minutes version is really magical
Another cool Jim Steinman song sung by Meatloaf. 👨🎤🎹
RIP Jim Steinman
Beautiful. Ain't it? Peace out
The actress miming Lorraine Crosby's vocal is Dana Patrick
