Sir Tom is 80 yrs old and still sounds so amazing. It's to be expected but it's also sad that a lot of great voices have weakened as they aged: he's still as strong as ever.
When he was a child he was bedridden with TB for a few years. His singing abilities are a miracle. Doctors didn't think he would ever have the lung capacity to hold down a job, let alone belt out a song and dance.

@@tedzimmermann4478 Tom had some great stories about Elvis. At least once, backstage someplace, I think, they got together to sing some gospel songs. Elvis loved gospel music; it was such a big part of his heart.

TOM TERRIFIC! 😀 I read he's I believe 82 and retained 90% of his voice. Amazing! Englebert Humperdinck same age still sounds great. You need to react to his huge hit Release Me in 67. Both were rivals, but got along well and have incredible voices.
He was damn near 80 years old in that clip. Saw him 3 years ago, and he does still sound good!
That reaction made my day...every person in the room never mind the age genre or race loved the voice. It is still so strong a voice! I loved listening to Tom and jennifer Hudson sing together on the voice show. Just the perfect blend of appreciation for one another.
We were so lucky to see Tom Jones at MGM Grand in Las Vegas 4 times - in 2005, 2006, and twice in 2008. He put on such a fun, fun show, and his voice was amazing! Wish he was still performing there. We'd go again.

One of his best known hits. Tom was one of the hottest male vocalists in his heyday. Women who attended his concerts would actually throw their panties to the stage at him. So beyond being a helluva singer, Tom Jones was apparently quite the mack. I see YOU like him too. Tom's still got it. BREEEEEEVE! lol.
And when he was 50 he got a 25 year old model pregnant with a boy. He claimed she tricked him into getting her preggos. Though he was forced to pay child support. He's never acknowledged the child and he has ignored the boy all his life. I.e. Tom Jones abandoned his own child which makes him a piece of shit....oh, he had affairs with a few hundred women while married too.

My mother was a huge fan of Tom, and she certainly passed it down to me. I would argue he has the best male voice of all time. You should check out his 90's comeback stuff. He had big hits with a covers album, the best were 'Burning Down The House' (Talking Heads) and 'Kiss' (Prince). Awesome.
Being born in the 50s I was blessed by the music of the 60s n 70s, check out, the stylistics, frankie valley, T-Rex
And the girls still love him just as much as ever.

In the 60's Sir Tom had a big hit with the song " I'll never fall in love again " the song was written for him by Lonnie Donegan , but in 2019 Lonnie's son Peter auditioned on the voice uk and Sir tom went on stage with him afterwards and did a duo with him with this song . ruclips.net/video/ySopatr6AoE/видео.html

As a teenage girl in the 70s I remember his TV show and how cool he was.
Love it! He's broken into It's A Man's World with Jennifer Hudson like that too... and it was amazing! For that matter Jennifer broke into Impossible Dream one time and I died.
That was nice but they were just fooling around and it was only a snapshot of a performance. There is some really good contemporary footage of Tom on the "Later with Jools Holland" bbc tv programme, which showcases how good he still is (assuming it's available on RUclips in the U.S.)
You should check out his collaboration with Stereophonics on the single Mama Told Me Not To Come. It's from the 2000s I think and both Sir Tom and Kelly Jones, lead singer of Stereophonics (no relation), are amazing on it. In fact he did a bunch of collaborations for an album he did then, I think also doing one with the Swedish band The Cardigans that's worth checking out as well, Burning Down The House, and while you're at it now version of Kiss with The Art Of Noise always makes me laugh, oh and Sex Bomb with Mousse T.

Sorry I think you misunderstood me last night on your livestream, I don't put in requests, I'm way too old and remember the groups and singers first time around, I was pointing out that Sir Tom Jones was now back at work doing his live concerts which you might enjoy, otherwise no thanks for requests but it's very interesting for us older ones watching the reactions too what we knew from way back
