I am familiar with this. The basic tenants of AA, the big book of AA and the joiner book called the 12 steps, and 12 traditions came from the Oxford Group inspired by CS Lewis. Step One is where the miracle can take place. I know this struggle. I have seen people come back from incredible circumstances to become a new person with decades of sobriety. It can happen but the person needs to hit bottom for the epiphany to happen.
One week ago I was in a horrible car accident that cost me a orbital eye bone fracture and my little son a broken leg. I could have been dead by now but the LORD saved me miraculously. I desire to seek him more and live for him, grateful that he granted me a second change and I don’t want to take it for granted .
Though my situation seems hopeless Though the storm threthen to overcome me Though my wallet is empty Though my dreams seem shattered I will praise you LORD for You are still the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY. I prayed every morning in the early AM hours before I taught at school for my Dad who had 4th stage thoracic lung cancer. He chose not to.have chemo. I was led to pray like King Hezikiah to heal and lengthen my Dad's life. God miraculous answered my prayers. Dad had 1 lung removed, no chemo and lived 13 years longer. God hears our heart cry and answers us and our loved ones with comfort and love. Some live longer and others go home to an even more beautiful home than Earth. Now, I just started watching this one and I am confused, to say the least, about this statement "When we become what He can love without hindrance, ..." This statement implies that only when we become the best we can be, God will love us (without hindrance). If that was the case, Jesus would have never given His life for us. Roman 5:8 - But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Careful to not draw a false conclusion; that He will love us only when we become a certain way. We don't have to chase His love; His love chases us.

Please, I ask for prayers for my son healing from the strokes he had in 2022. We his parents care for him. The right side of his body was affected. His speech also. We are doing all we know to do for him😢 . I believe and pray, always, knowing God shall heal him. I also like prayer in general for my adult children. I watched "Start your morning with Psalm 27", and 30 seconds into the video, I was already weeping. Every thought resonated with me. Now, I just started watching this one and I am confused, to say the least, about this statement "When we become what He can love without hindrance, ..." This statement implies that only when we become the best we can be, God will love us (without hindrance). If that was the case, Jesus would have never given His life for us. Roman 5:8 - But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Careful to not draw a false conclusion; that He will love us only when we become a certain way. We don't have to chase His love; His love chases us.
