I've played Star Wars Jedi Survivor twice now and It's by far one of the best, if not the best Star Wars game, that I have played, story-wise. Given my clear passion for this game, I wanted to give the point of view of Cal Kestis the highlight and summarize some of his struggles into one edit. I do hope you enjoy it, and do let me know what you thought of the game? (Aside from the performance issues...)

Both Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor have better story and better written characters than everything Disney released so far and are amazing games in general people who say its just game are missing awesome stuff.

Holy fuck, this was genuinely one of the best edits I've seen for a game. Cal has got to be one of the best new Star Wars characters we've gotten.

Cal and mal I feel where characters that where never meant to mean much but they get so much development and we follow them through so much that we can’t help but love them.
The eventual Cal/Vader fight is going to be legendary. It'll hit like crack
I always loved that moment when Greeze says "You gotta know when to walk away from a rigged game. Otherwise you may loose something you can never replace." Talk about foreshadowing. that was just good writing. Playing the game over, I get chills when he says that knowing what eventually will happen.
I got chills when I heard when Dagan Gera said "you think yourself a survivor but you are a failure". Great Tribute!!
I found Dagan to be quite silly in many ways, but he did have some cool lines, like this one! and thank you, glad you liked the tribute!
This is absolutely beautiful. They should have let you make the trailer for the game.
The best Star wars has been In decades. THIS is what needs to come to light.

Thank you very much, Crusade! And yes, for sure he has. Throughout this game, he's become one of my favorite Star Wars characters In canon. Let's see if, in about 5-6 years, we'll get a third installment of the game series.

Idc what anyone says, ik the performance issues where a big part on why people didn't like the game but this story, is the best in gaming history. If they compete the trilogy with a banger I will never play another game again. That's how good this series is getting
I had a fair amount of performance issues at some point, but that never stopped me from playing the game through twice. Such a good story!
It is amazing and I think it is on par with gow and ghost of Tsushima
Fallen Order story is slightly better than Survivor simply because Trilla is much more compelling than Survivor's villains.
But other than performance... Survivor is simply a masterpiece of a game. Maybe the greatest Star Wars video game of all time and up there in the video game pantheon

Star Wars Jedi Survivor may be my favorite star wars game of all time. Absolutely amazing story and characters, and Cal Kestis is so grown up and is facing the real questions and doubt about fighting the empire, his love for Merrin and the loss of most of his family (again) he is so so close to falling to the dark side. Merrin is the only one keeping him in check now.
I just hope he realizes his force potential. Cal is clearly more talented than most Jedi but his judgement seems to be clouded at times.
Amazing edit that sums up the story to Jedi Survivor.
This goes hard. Even harder than Cal around Merrin.

I cannot even fathom the amount of brain damage that the few people who say this game is bad have.
And so, we end this second installment in classic Star Wars fashion. Cal didn't really win this time, did he?
Cal suffered two great losses in this game: Cere and Cordova. Both Jedi have been very influential on Cal's life after the Purge and both have helped him grow into the Jedi Knight he's become. Their sudden and violent deaths because of Bode leave him reeling, full of rage and pain. He's angrier than he's ever been in his life after Bode's betrayal.
If you notice, everyone Cal has faced in this series has been a Fallen Jedi and a mirror for him. Trilla was Cere's Padawan, turned to the Dark Side after feeling abandoned by her master. The Ninth Sister was turned through the pain and agony she experienced at the hands of the Empire. Malicos was turned by anger at the Jedi traditions and the lure of Dathomir's power. Dagan felt betrayed by the Republic, turning on everything and everyone he loved because he thought he knew best. Bode turned after the loss of the love of his life at the Empire's hands, giving into his darker nature in the name of keeping Kata safe. And we all know the story of Vader, turned out of fear of losing those he loves.
It's fear that is Cal's greatest obstacle. He's terrified to lose the family he's found after the Purge. Cal's greatest fear is realized the moment Cere dies. He's lost yet another master whose guidance he's counted on. Another person he loves is gone at the hands of the Empire and he's powerless to stop it.
Cal letting go of the Jedi Code let him follow his heart to Merrin. He's allowed himself to love her without restraint. In a time when the Empire is only getting stronger, that's not a bad thing. Merrin is the one good thing that's happened to Cal. She's his anchor now. She's there to remind him of the kind, compassionate person he is.
When we first met Cal, the pain of losing Jaro Tapal had already settled and was something Cal had grown used to. We leave Cal mere days after the loss of Cere, feeling what he felt when Tapal died initially. But he made it through that first loss and he'll make it through this one. And this time around, he's not alone. Merrin and Greez loved Cere as much as he did. They'll face that loss together and maybe helping Kata through the loss of her father will help Cal let go of the anger he feels for Bode, too.
I don't feel like having Cal turn fully to the Dark Side would do him justice. This series has been about hope despite overwhelming odds. Cal's seen enough Jedi fall to the darkness by this point that he knows it isn't the way. It's okay to be scared; the tricky part is not letting that control you.

Cal has become one of my favourite characters in the Star Wars universe. I absolutely loved this game, they really took it up a notch from Fallen Order in all aspects. Great edit also ❤

A true masterpiece these two games have been.
Yes!
I've played through this game so many times already. And it, like it's predecessor. Was a masterpiece. But this, was something new. It didn't just make you feel like your actions have weight. It manufactures, just like halo reach, desperation. It makes you HATE, it makes you burn inside. You feel the loss, the emptiness, the hollow feeling of victory such a cost. When Cere died, you could feel that anguish, and when finally. you'd had enough, Bode using his daughter to escape. The rage us as players could feel was like no other. Giving into the darkness after such a careful, intricate, yet horrible and dark fate, just to savagely mow down every single person in your way. Until the only one left standing in our side of the rim was Bode, was one of the best feelings in a video game I'd ever experienced. Rest in peace Cere. He will guide her through the darkness, we'll make sure he does.

This is some incredible work. Everything is perfect, the pacing, the dialogue and score, all of it. I just keep watching it over and over.
All I can say is.. Wow.

What an epic and heartfelt summary. I was surprised to see how there are so few ones, yet this is such a great story! You really nailed its essence, thank you!
Nicely done. But I know that you'll agree with me when I say, that this, was inspired by the many, many great works that came before it. You know, we complain sometimes lately about all of the reboots, the lack of originality. This is when we sometimes forget they are merely out of respect & appreciation for what came before it.
Cal Kestis is about $1.50 worth of midicholrians away from being a normal dude named Jake, yet the guy is surviving and finding meaning inside the pressure cooker of the world George Lucas created and I am very here for it.
This gave me chills! This was so amazing, mate and you did Cal justice by far. I'm not sure I've officially checked out your edits before, but you've just gained another viewer purely off this one. Can't wait for more material from you, I'm always looking for fellow fan editors to check out and this gave me so much inspiration for my own content. Love this!

I just can't play with anything other than windswept hair for Cal. With either the short or long beard.
Man I really hope cal survives the next game and can make it to meeting Luke and maybe joining his academy as an instructor
So hyped for when they do the 3rd game, finish it off with Cal vs Vader and with Cal flirting with the dark side im hoping cal gives Vader a hell of a fight. Also hope they add the Drifter outfit with all its colors in the third game as well since the Drifter is the best outfit IMO.
The third installment is being considered as we speak. Really hoping for them to conclude it all with a banger.

This edit is amazing, loved it! It's even better for me, because it's the exact same look I chose for Cal on my first playthrough (aside from the full beard), the same light saber color and incredibly similar hilt. Made it feel more immersive. Great work!
Oh, that's quite interesting. I personally felt this style and outfit were very fitting for Cal. Still has that "Jedi" feel to it but still keeps that respectable uniqueness and distance to the order. I'm glad it resonated more with you due to the matching outfit. And thank you!

Cal Kestis has seen so much horror and death that his world is titled after the end of this video, if we do get a third game of Cal, we need to see if he can complete his journey that which he so happens to be scared for.

Feel like the long hair and beard is a must for this game, really fit where his character was in my mind. So committed and focused on his personal war with the empire that he's neglecting everything else.
I agree it fits but for a different reason. I see the long hair and beard as a sort of pledge to his mission kind of like certain spiritual figures that grow their hair

Cal is an actual Jedi Story. He doesn't start of powerful. The game has a constant power creep, but once you get good at fighting mook enemies...you stay good.
You don't feel immortal the stakes and action are real. And if EA will let the company take more time..

I'm sad that this game is so underrated and didn't win anything in Game Awards or Steam Awards. And it also received hate because it had technical problems, but this game is very good. Maybe it kinda lacks in post-story content and replayability, but the story is amazing and the gameplay is very enjoyable. Call is more mature and the the characters are more deep. I also hope that he will become a true Jedi and balance the light and dark side of the force in himself. He also reminds me of Arthur Morgan in Chapter 6 of rdr2 - he lost most of the people that cared for him and he suspects that the fight is probably a lost cause, but he still has hope till the end (well, we dont exactly what Cal will do in the end, but I am pretty sure he will behave similar).
Can’t wait for the 3rd one. Going to have to wait another 3 in a half years though😔. Fourtunatley it’ll go by quickly.
