I use ipad for scanned pdf and kindle for ebooks and non scanned pdf converted to kindle format and for epub books(of course jailbroken nn). I read kindle books when i am outside while i use ipad when i am indoor. I mostly use ipad only for scanned books and the pdf that is not convertible(which uses some proprietry fonts or with custom font embedding ). With both device, its a holistic experience.
I have an iPAD. The problem I have with reading on it is - it's heavy and I know it can connect to the internet so the tempation of dropping what I am reading.
Very helpful video thank you so much ❤ I will follow your instructions and see. I was not aware that the Kindle could be so useful as you describe, it sounds great thank you 💫
Hi, I have downloaded a PDF on my Kindle fire 8, and I want to read it via Kindle app and have it saved there like a normal book would be, how may I do this? Thank you. 😁😁
Hey are you able to access the PDF in the folder it’s downloaded to? You can attach it to an email and send it to that “send to Kindle” email address unique to you with the subject “convert” to get it to open as a normal Kindle book.
Hey hey! Great to hear from you. Images and graphics appear in grayscale - I think that in my older video on iPad versus Kindle reading I show some examples. I like the quality of the images even if they're in grayscale. You can zoom in on the Kindle to see more details. It doesn't refresh as fast or as smoothly as something like an iPad or other tablet will but it works for me.
Yep! I still use it, so it's working! I also have a video using Calibre to convert epubs to Kindle format that works for pdfs if you get any formatting issues when sending through your kindle email.
i have a kindle and i tried almost everything with converting. from pdf to epub to awz3 format and so on. but all this did not work good. for example the books are often after converting small in text so when zooming in you cant go to the next site smoothly. is there any instruction in the web how to convert pdf to kindle and read it smoothly and zoom in for example (quickly) and go to the next site without zooming out again and so on.
It does depend on the PDF. Some books in PDF format each page is an "image" and won't convert to Epub as nicely. These are the ones that zoom in like that. I usually try to find an alternate copy of the book in cases like that.
@@FindYourFlow so do you think that it would be possible If i extract the Text from the PDF to a Word File and then save it again as an PDF that it would have a better experience If then convert it to an ePub?
@@QuizDome-683 azw3 is the Kindle format developed by Amazon. I've never been able to get it to work for sending files with calibre. I believe it's because the Kindle devices recognizes when it's a file that's not directly from the Amazon store. So ePub format is the way to go.
@@QuizDome-683 You can do that. You might be able to find an AI app that can extract the text and save you some time. But you don't have to convert it to PDF. You can import the .doc into Calibre and convert that directly into an ePub. I've got another video on how I read ePubs on Kindle that might help too for the process if you need it.
Hi Meha, I have the Signature Edition Paperwhite that I bought a couple of years ago. There's a video on it and I talk about which I recommend but I think that unless you really care about wireless charging, the basic is perfect :) I do still like the larger screens on the paperwhite. It makes a difference for me.
Instead of using the send to Kindle email with it, try converting it in Calibre to an epub first. I have another video on sending ePubs to Kindle that shows this process more. It can be a problem with some PDFs though. If the conversion process can't extract the text it'll treat each page like an image that will take a lot longer to load. But give it a shot with Calibre first!
That’s a great question! I’m not really sure. I’ll have to try it and see. I don’t know if the Kindle conversion does OCR to convert the text on the scan into characters or not. It might depend on the scanner and whether it has OCR built in. Or you may have to send the PDF to something like Evernote or Apple notes first where it can do the character recognition.
PDFs are pretty widespread available. Authors sometimes have copies of their books in pdf or lost chapters as pdfs on their website. Lots of other pdfs like journal articles can come from online libraries or organizations that compile publications. I always try to support writers directly in whatever way is best for them!
The figures will be kept intact as images so you'll be able to zoom in and view them! The formatting for scientific journals can work out pretty well sometimes. Most journal articles are two columns on the page and this can sometimes get jumbled in the process.
I have some pdfs already sent to Kindle app in my iPad. How to convert them to Kindle format so I can highlight sentences ? Not possible to highlight in pdf.
If you follow the steps and email the pdf to your Kindle address for your account, make sure you type “convert” in the subject line of the email before hitting send and it’ll convert the PDF to kindle format and allow highlights.
@@FindYourFlow yes thanks. But now the files are only on my iPad and visible in Kindle app. No option to mail in that app. Need to find where those files are stored. Would have been easy in Android.
If it worked, it'll show up as the most recent file in your library. What size is the file you're sending? If it's too big it might not go through. I'm not sure what the limitation is but do know that there's a limit as sending books with lots of images doesn't always go through.
Hi Michael, it’s at 1:56 in the video. You email it to your send to kindle email. Use whatever email service you like. It’ll show up as the most recent item in your kindle library when you’re connected to the internet. Usually takes a little while to arrive.
I thought I mentioned it but you read PDFs the same way, you just don't send the message with a subject line so that it sends the pdf directly to your kindle.
Depending on how much bigger than 25 mb it is, you could use calibre to compress the images. Or it may require splitting the pdf which I know isn't ideal but it would work to keep the files under the limit.

I did but the language of the book is Arabic so when I put convert it’s change to another language!
