    I do use my iPad Mini for reading on evenings and weekends, even though I still have my Kindle Paperwhite SE. I take my Kindle to work where I read from it on my breaks. It might be a little overkill but I wear an Oura 4 on the finger, whoop on my bicep and Apple Watch when I sleep and exercise. Then, I take off my Apple Watch when I’m not doing any sleeping or exercising and wear my analog watch. My Oura sends heart rate and steps to Apple health so I get to keep all my data throughout the day. By the way, I put my Oura and Apple Watch on airplane mode when sleeping. I wish whoop had an airplane mode. Lastly, if you wear a whoop in the bicep it works as accurate as a chest strap. It’s horrible on the wrist. It’s perfect on the bicep.

    • @FindYourFlow
      @FindYourFlow 19 дней назад

      Thanks Chris! It really would be nice if Whoop had airplane mode. That's great to know about the bicep measurements being more accurate. I think that's really good feedback for everyone to consider.

    Thanks for the video. I don't think the mini is comfortable for one-handed reading. It might be good if you have large and strong hands, but for many people it'll be too big and heavy to read one-handed for long.

    • @FindYourFlow
      @FindYourFlow 20 дней назад

      That is true. For me it's not such a problem, but great point that for many people it would be! A helpful update on how I use it since I made this video - I put a popsocket right over the Apple logo on the mini and that makes it way better for one handed reading.

    I hate Apple and it's proprietary apps .... Android is much more flexible ... I bought a comic reader for my ipad (I have tons of comics in cbr format) and the crappy thing wouldn't load any! 🤬 To load the apps "library" you had to do so from "the cloud" 🤬 I don't do cloud crap... on my Galaxy tablet I can connect a thumbdrive with comics (or pdfs) a use a FREE comic reader app...

    Good points! I’ve been working on a system to optimize my reading for a couple of weeks now and I would add a few extra methods: -Scan the first few pages and ask yourself questions that will generate curiosity in the material. -Reframe reading as a kind of meditation in order to cultivate that nonjudgmental awareness that will lead to more focus and heightened enjoyment. Be sure you’re relaxed and centered before reading. -For more complex material I like to read a summary or familiarize myself with the concepts/ideas beforehand in order to prime my brain and process the information quicker, otherwise there can be too much context switching between reading and looking up words/concepts. I at least like to look at the table of contents for an overview. -For fiction I find myself focusing more on the visuals my mind conjures up than the words themselves. This leads to more immersion and heightened comprehension.

    Would you recommend getting a paperwhite or a paperwhite signature edition if you already have a Scribe?

    • @FindYourFlow
      @FindYourFlow Месяц назад

      Is it just because you want a smaller, more portable Kindle for reading as well as the Scribe? The only differences with the signature edition are the wireless charging and the auto-adjusting backlight. Plus more storage. I do like the backlight auto-adjusting but I honestly rarely use the wireless charging. When I only need to plug the device in for a few hours every couple of weeks to charge it doesn't make a difference how I charge it. The $45 difference to upgrade to me is worth it but you're coming from a more expensive device and maybe will only use the Paperwhite part of the time and still also use the Scribe, so saving some money might make sense!

      I've never had a problem with the price of Kindles. It saves me hundreds, if not thousands a year on books. Over the 7 years of use I'll get out of a Kindle, it's a fair deal to me. And with any other e-reader I've had in the past, there have been problems with those devices. Mind you, I've been a convert to Kindle for over 10 years so maybe some of the other companies have worked out the bugs that made me stop using their devices in the past.

    • @FindYourFlow
      @FindYourFlow Месяц назад

      Hey Emmanuel, You can send the annotations back to your computer either by exporting the notes from your Kindle or Kindle app on your phone or tablet or opening the book in the Kindle computer app. But converting the PDF into Kindle format is creating a whole new file, so it won't sync up with the original PDF.

    Amazon can, and will, change the rules for content. Apple may do the same, but doesn’t seem to be as egregious. Amazon hoovers my information. Apple doesn’t. Simply put, I don’t trust Amazon and severely limit the use of the Amazon book store, and Kindle, to the app on my iPad. One device to rule them all.

  • @demajoseph2144

    I haven't even watched the video, but guys, the answer is NO. The iPad mini (or any other tablet) is not a substitute to an e-reader with e-ink. It's simply not. Reading with e-ink won't harm your eyes while the iPad will do it for sure. Do you only read books? Go for the Kindle (or Kobo, or another good e-reader brand). Do you read comics and graphic novels? Then go for the iPad, because there's no better option in that segment nowadays. The iPad is better for color, Kindle and other e-readers are better for books. Hope that helps.

    Great video! I've used both the iPad Air and iPad Mini as primary e-reading devices in the past. Then I went to Kindle Oasis, and now I cycle between iPad mini 6, Kindle Oasis, and Kindle Scribe depending on location, mood, and type of book. I honestly enjoy them all, however the iPad Mini has a slight edge for me because it's Kindle App provides a more feature-rich experience than the actual Kindle (e.g. immersive reading option, searching esoteric terms on the web when the Kindle dictionary doesn't recognize it, and the dual page format which is available on the Scribe but not other Kindles). I also enjoy using Apple's Book app at times, and I find its user interface superior to Kindle's. I'm waiting for the AI features myself before deciding whether to upgrade or not. I'm also interested in the new Kindle Coloursoft, to see if it may be a iPad mini contender when comparing e-reading experiences.

      I think that credit card (or a visa debit also probably) are the only payment methods in order to get an account set up after the free trial.

    i have a kindle and i tried almost everything with converting. from pdf to epub to awz3 format and so on. but all this did not work good. for example the books are often after converting small in text so when zooming in you cant go to the next site smoothly. is there any instruction in the web how to convert pdf to kindle and read it smoothly and zoom in for example (quickly) and go to the next site without zooming out again and so on.

      It does depend on the PDF. Some books in PDF format each page is an "image" and won't convert to Epub as nicely. These are the ones that zoom in like that. I usually try to find an alternate copy of the book in cases like that.

      @@FindYourFlow so do you think that it would be possible If i extract the Text from the PDF to a Word File and then save it again as an PDF that it would have a better experience If then convert it to an ePub?

      @@QuizDome-683 azw3 is the Kindle format developed by Amazon. I've never been able to get it to work for sending files with calibre. I believe it's because the Kindle devices recognizes when it's a file that's not directly from the Amazon store. So ePub format is the way to go.

      @@QuizDome-683 You can do that. You might be able to find an AI app that can extract the text and save you some time. But you don't have to convert it to PDF. You can import the .doc into Calibre and convert that directly into an ePub. I've got another video on how I read ePubs on Kindle that might help too for the process if you need it.
