Hi really informative video thank you. Just so you know the plural of fish of the same species is just fish. Fishes is used when you are talking about several fish of differing species in a group . 💕
I have two yoyo loaches in my 55 gallon heavy planted aquarium. They live with a group of 4 angel fish and 7 breed happy Molly's. For the longest time I was afraid of them having undesirable behavior, but I find mine are very unique. I was uninformed when I purchased them, knowing what I know now, I would have brought 5-7 of them home. So i always kept my eye on them. But, I also have about 24 kuhli loaches as well! Different varieties of kuhli loaches, but 24 in total. They act more like kulhi loaches then yoyo loaches. To the point that I have blue ramshorn and blue dream shrimp living in my aquarium. My yoyo's are beyond peaceful! However, I recently started adding in some tunnel features to my aquarium. More like adding a basement area, if your imagination will allow. Well, in one of the smaller areas, one of my yoyo loaches like to lay in front of it in an almost "dead" way. A few taps of the glass, and he is out and about, but this last time I noticed he was two shades from being all white. After about 2 minutes, he was fully colored again. But I have no explanation for this! I'm stumped!
You are very lucky I got 3 and came to find one today dead I only have 2 guppies and them and now I came to learn they can’t be together stores usually don’t care so I feel you have to do your own research because I got 4 bettas last time lady that gave me info said oh yeah you can put the 4 bettas together I did 2 were so aggressive I tried to take them back they wouldn’t and it was their info that was wrong but 2 of the female did good I came to learn all info on my own so I do research on my own instead of asking them because they’re info sucks but cool that yours got along
They’re very interesting. I have a mid sized castle decoration that has flat roofs and my loaches loves to lay on top of it like how you would lay on your side. It’s fascinating because almost all of my yo-yo loaches does it.
Hi, there! I started keeping fish back in April, so I'm very much an newbie. I have a 29-gallon planted tank with 3 serpae tetras and 2 yoyo loaches (I used to have 3 loaches, but 1 died). Is my tank too small for my loaches? They don't seem to have grown much since I got them, but everything I've read on them suggests that maybe I should look to re-home them. Would that be the best thing for them? If not, what would you suggest? Thank you in advanced!
Hello Aquarium Fish Keepers i have some questions for the Yoyo Loach. Q1. What is the size of a Yoyo Loach. Q2. Can i put them in a 18-gallon tank with tank mates. Q3. Can they live with Livebearers like Mollies and Guppies. Q4. Can Yoyo Loach live with Dwarf Gouramis.
It’s “fish” when it is multiple individuals of the same species, and “fishes” when it is multiple individuals of different species. So a school of yo-yo loaches in a community tank would be a bunch of fish living with other fishes.
Misinformation. I have 4 x large (approximately 4 inches )Yoyo Loach in my tank along with lots of Amano , Wood, and Cherry shrimps. I also have lots of Assassin snails in there too. I started off with just 10 Assassin snails and now have over 40+ I simply lost count but they have increased in numbers dramatically. so have my cherry shrimps. they have cleaned up all the pest snails (bladder snails) but don't seem to bother the Assasin snails. I'm guessing it must be the black/yellow banding on the snails like a warning just like Wasp/ bumble bees???
In my neighbourhood there's somebody that wants to give away a single grown yoyo loach. If you look to my channel and watch one of the tank videos, I wonder if my tank is too crowdy to keep this beauty with 13 corydoras, some otocynlus, one ancistrus, a couple of Crossocheilus siamensis (sorry, I dunno the english name) and 6 to 8 pangio kuhlii. Also single keeping is bad. But for as long as I know its anyway going to be hard to find the pitch perfect home for that lonely yoyo loach.... 🙁💓
I think it all depends on the size of the tank as well as the personalities of each fish. I had rainbow sharks in the past and they tended not to get along with each other rather than any other fish.
I have 2 yoyo loaches in a 7 gallon tank, but I can't get a bigger one because we only have 1 stand for it and we don't have room. we also have 16 fish (including the yoyos) with them.
This sized tank is very overstocked with what you have described. A seven gallon would be great for some really pretty nano fish. I know you may not have room for a larger tank but if you keep as many fish as you’re describing you will get ammonia spikes which will kill your fish. Also for your fish to be happy they need swimming room a 7 gallon is simply not a big enough area. I’m very sorry. Hope you can swap your fish for some nano fish
We fed it bottom eater's special food and also it was young, recently bought. unfortunately we lost it. The water parameters were all perfect. After reading more, it likely is because we only had one of it, rather we should've bought a school since they are very social.
Throw some pest snails in with them.. get either trumpet snails or rams horns snails as they are know to eat snails as part of there diet.. that’s why it’s not advisable to put snails in as tank mates.. because they will try to eat them. Only put snails in the tank that you want them to eat.. so if you have mystery snails that you want to keep and enjoy don’t put them in the tank with the yoyos. Yo-yos are sometimes used to do “pest control” with snails when the “pest snails” like trumpets and rams horns get out of control.. they LOVE snails. I never have a pest snail problem in my home tank cause my yo-yos take care of them. But that also means if I want to enjoy my purple mystery snails I have them kept in my school tank which HAS no yo-yo in it.

Yes thank you for your intelligence! That’s 1 reason I am subscribed to. Great info for sure..;

@@jrado502_8 what is funny about that?

youngs can find a way but watch the size and the tanks depends the fish to a certain amount like bad apples you have a bad every now and then
Would a rainbow shark get along with yoyo loaches?
I think it all depends on the size of the tank as well as the personalities of each fish.
I had rainbow sharks in the past and they tended not to get along with each other rather than any other fish.
I wanted to know how to empty a yo-yo fish
Can live without oxygen air pump
no I've found

As I'm sure you've found, 7 gallons is way way too small for this many fish, especially the loaches

That's a bloated yoyo! Mine doesn't eat much and is getting thin. Do you know what could be the problem?
What are you feeding it?
Old age?
We fed it bottom eater's special food and also it was young, recently bought. unfortunately we lost it. The water parameters were all perfect.

bug bits my love that
