I don't know if you heard, but the FAA is letting SpaceX continue their Falcon 9 launches while continuing with the investigation. Maybe you should cover that tomorrow.

While I agree Elon is almost certainly above the law with how much money he has, the company has literally set the curve on rocket safety… there is not a company or country on earth than can beat them in this regard currently. So they should have that taken into account when making decisions on weather or not they should be allowed to fly the falcon rocket. If the falcon rocket is not safe to fly into space by extension nothing is

@@jayhuang7747it's not law per se it's regulations which the agency involved has complete control over.
In this case there was no risk to public safety so they can decide to allow the license tweak.
We see this all the time in aircraft, otherwise we'd have most planes constantly grounded as each issue that occurs on a daily basis stops flights.
Space travel needs to transition across to a more airline based model eventually.

Regarding the VAST space station concept. What prevents configuring the module to the size and shape of the fairings? Total volume increases, perhaps by half or more, and allowable mass may increase as well. Exterior components such as solar arrays, antennae, Starlink panels could be added after reaching orbit. Potentially, exterior work could be performed by robots, either tele-operated or autonomous.

You guys need to tweak your AI narration software. I couldn't believe my ears when at the ~1:30 point it pronounced the word "habitable" with the accent on the 2nd syllable (ha-BIT-ah-bul). I looked the word up and even one which had both U.S. and G.B. pronunciation put the accent on the 1st syllable. You need to fix that.
Another observation: your animation shows people operating in the SpaceX space station wearing space suits. That is wrong. Look at the pictures/video from the ISS and you will see astronauts dressed in regular clothing. Even Wilmore and Williams had gotten out of their IVA suits before they boarded the ISS. I don't know where you get your animations but that is a glaring error.

Whoever does your research really screwed the pooch on the last space station mentioned in the video. According to the Vast website, Vast's space station will be called "Haven-1". The station itself will be flown to orbit on a Falcon 9 booster with crews (4 person) transported in Dragon spacecraft. I don't understand why you are so enamored of the Haven-1. It is the smallest of the station proposals and does not appear to be intended for long term operation since to date only 2 30 day missions are planned.

  • @garylcamp

Starlink can be put on any station or rocket. Starship already does. Bozo is so secretive and slow, it is hard to predict but he did get the expensive joyride running and finally got the engine into production. I don't quite trust the SpaceX description. The illustration does not look at all like it was done by SpaceX. Bent modules? What's all that other stuff? Balloon modules have to prove they don't pop when a 15KMPH debris or space rock hits them.

Orbiting habitats are meant to be just that. No need for earth to space hardware. Show what is a real orbiting outpost.
Plus, returning to earth could be in steps. Virgin Galactic spacecraft need no heat shielding to return. Dock and transfer as they go up and back down. The math works
