Bought a blue Seiko5 sports, blue bezel, rubber strap, first watch ever bought, I am having a blast with it, accurate with in a minute a week, thanks for your time⌚
Like the red Kanji and overall look. Appears a bit thick and would have been ideal at 38mm. Would love to see a theoretical 3 affordable Seiko collection.
for the price, im very happy with this watch. this is my daily beater, that wont hurt should anything happen to it. and im amazed with the performance of the 4r36 movement. its pretty accurate.
Had trouble choosing between blue or black...... Picked up a black dial one for the black is beautiful notion. Blue is such a cool one too though. Wifey fully wanted me to pick the blue one 😄 I want both if you ask me. Blue, with brown leather strap could look pretty good, I think.
This is starting to grow on me. I have a 7-inch plus wrist so I was thinking it might be too small but it's looking good on your wrist. Just a small edit, the reference is SBSA111, no A between the B and S!
It's actually surprising to see this cheaper watch have applied indexes and numerals while the newest "baby" Alpinist have printed creamy indexes and numerals. Surely that cost difference didn't go into the movement. At any rate, I'm hoping for a time-only version of the "baby" Alpinist with Seiko's newest 6R31 no-date movement.
WHY would anyone want applied indicted on a field / Alpinist watch? I have had indicted fall off while in the field (Army). NOT COOL! If you want a faux field watch just for decoration, I guess it doesn’t matter.
@@Xanduur because printed on indexes and numerals are cheap! If you had indexes fall in the dial while you're out in the field then that watch is not well made. I'm surprised you're wearing an old school field watch in the army, I thought you guys are now wearing G Shocks and wrist computers.
For modders, the dial is ca. 33,2 mm. and has a plastic ring to hold the movement and the dial together. Its not the 28,5 mm dial Seiko standard. But looks very good.
Is there a difference between SBSA111) and SRPG27k1? Especially in terms of daily color? I have seen srpg27k1 in person, and the daill seems to be more charcoal(feels lighter in person than what's shown in images) than black color. Is this the case with sbsa111 also?
Can you make a video of the srpg39... thinking of buying it but now sure how it would appear in natural light... i am confused as to how blue the dial on it is...
Can you tell me in what kind of packaging you received the watch? I already have other Seiko 5s and they had different packaging. My Seiko SRPG27K1 came in a large, white Seiko box without the Seiko 5 logo. The other SRPE models and also the SRPG Field Watches with NATO came in a smaller, blue / gray box with a black box around it. Your answer would help me a lot - thank you.
I think they did the no ar too kind of match the old school aspect of field wathes?? I have the sbsa117 kanji and having my certified watchmaker install a dd sapphire hopefully on friday
I just got the Blue dial SRPG29 and I did no like the blue star burst dial.. to much reflection with domed crystal. I’m returning it for the SRPG27 (Matt black dial ).
I was really thinking of getting this piece as my one everday/fieldwatch for my collection but a few days ago hamilton released the khaki mechanical in bronze and I immediately went for that 🤗 maybe the seiko 5 field will come later...
9:03 Nice behind the scenes action. XD Jokes aside, with the black dial, daydate, field design and lack of AR this feels like Seiko's take on the Hamilton Khaki King, with a more entry level positioning. Interesting share. =)
It looks like a seiko. Lose the day, date and make it 36 or 38m.m., then you compete with Vaer, and they have a 36m.m. with a 7001 movement with manual wind which I purchased along with their Heritage ,40m.m. no date version. But I do like the seiko over Hamilton , though.

I recently acquired the 36mm JDM version..... my new favourite
Your "transitional lighting" exposition is unique among watch reviewers.

39.5 is perfect size for everybody, im only worried about that 48 lug to lug if it will wear too big.
Bro, the way you showed the watch under more realistic lighting conditions earned you a sub and made me decide to order the watch, thanks :)

Seiko has this with a Blue dial as the SRPG29. EXQUISITE !!!
I have one
@@handpowers and how are they? Are the numbers readable in the dark?
I got the SRPG39 with the blue fade dial, gold Arabics and hands, on leather strap. Love it

Awesome looking and design watch!!!! It’s the perfect everyday or weekend “beater” watch!!

Nice catch on the typo, thanks!
I want to replace mine with Sapphire crystal but i can't find any information about the Crystal diameter...

THE Perfection 😍

Can you give me the size of the glass? I'm going to get it replaced by a sapphire
I'm waiting to get mine in the mail now. I mainly like the dial hence the reason I bought it. I think I'm gonna go for the Bulova A15 next.
I recently took delivery of the SRPG39, Love it so far. It fits my 7.25 wrist perfect.
@@maximus3233 Larger.

I could never understand why do they always have to make suck a think case. I have made mods using nh36's coming in at 12mm thick.
Maybe the display caseback?

Great review, love the watch..
My SRPG27 is +17s per day. Is it Ok? I bought it from e bay and it had a small dent on lug. Sorry for my bad Enghlish.
У меня Orient Mako 2 идет от +14 до +17 секунд в сутки. Вполне нормально.
Has Hamilton khaki vibes. Nice little watch
I still can't get used to the Superman logo, but other than that, a very cool watch

Perfect for every day wear.
Looks great but my wrist is small, so i picked up the smaller version of this model sbsa201

I want and will get this exact model but opted for a mdc field watch day/date for the time being...I've seen these on amazon for around 240 usd ...
I was really thinking of getting this piece as my one everday/fieldwatch for my collection but a few days ago hamilton released the khaki mechanical in bronze and I immediately went for that 🤗 maybe the seiko 5 field will come later...
I don’t think that they’re different enough to have both and I’d choose the hammy any day but the seiko is still a great cheaper alternative

I'd say the Khaki Field Auto 38 would be closer
Does it have sunburst dial or its matte black?
9:04 Where'd you get that please? Awesome review btw, very detailed and the most helpful I've found in helping me decide to get an S5. Thanks
Great video I would love to see a comparison between this and the other Seiko 5!
Had you try swapping the bracelet with seiko SRPE61? Im just curious either it can fit or not
I didn't but maybe I should, thanks for asking
I quite like this but I’d probably do a dial swap. The day-date window doesn’t suit the classic field watch look.
Would love to see a strap variation on this watch, hardly any RUclipsr who owns this watch does that tho
Better with Brown leather strap
Why didn't they lume the numerals! This was such a missed opportunity
As an owner of the SNZG17 with lumed numerals, I agree.
That is almost the spitting image of the Hamilton Khaki... Almost
I know it's a Seiko 5 but wouldn't it look better without the day date?
Nice review. I like the watch but find it a little thick. Will go check out the Sakura store though.
Yeah, only feels thicker comparatively, on it's own, I think its fine
Only dinosaurs will be wearing such a heavy bulky watches soon.
Automatic? Yes ... But make it light and comfortable.
What's your wrist size?
7.25"

This, or the newest "stealth" model? As a first automatic watch…
For a first, I'd choose this, with the stealth more appreciated in a larger collection
@@AverageBros Thank you
Nice but why so thick, maybe they can use a slimmer case back, instead of showing a bland movement!
Exactly especially one that no one sees while it’s on your wrist lol
😢 it's still thick ,
you have the same voice as Jone bone jones
Like the UFC dude?
Way too thick
48 lug to lug is way to big.
Get bigger wrists.
@@oidoglr LMFAO 😂
Considering the bracelet is the usual Seiko crap, you can get them on strap all over EBay at $225-235.
