Seikos are cool. I bought a Seiko 5 automatic in 1987. It made it through the US Army Infantry School and many more adventures over the next several years. It still works today! Never been serviced.
I was thinking hard about the black and orange one!! It’s very striking and loud and I like that about it. But I’m also really into the Sinn 857 UTC right now. I’m Drooling over pics and trying to watch the all of 2 vids about it on RUclips.!! I missed the 777 special edition of it with the airplane for the UTC hand😡😡😭
Rob, i just noticed inside the dial i can see it's mentioned "made in japan" but I don't see that on the link you shared and i didn't see anywhere on the other videos too.
I realize you made this video over two years ago, but I just got one of these and was checking out videos on them. Nice watch especially for the price. BUT if you plan on changing the strap, think twice. It's not a spring bar. It's a fixed steel pin that I had to pull out with pliers after I had to cut the strap off. Who ever heard of that? Shame on you Seiko for making such an abomination!
About the lume, and I hope you can chime in on this little question/comment, Rob. IF the orange lume lasts as well as the green, I and anybody else has to bow down to Seiko for being lume masters. Seriously, any lume color but blue and green usually is considerably less potent and effective. IF Seiko found a way to make it nearly as potent and effective as the green and blue lume they do.. I have to be frankly amazed by that and give mad props. So, does the orange lume last?
The orange lume is pretty awesome right at the start, but it fades out pretty quick. It's still very beautiful with the green. The reason the quick fade doesn't bother me is that it's still very readable early in the morning since the big hands have so much surface and with the orange gone, it actually kind of helps brain align quicker with the 12. If they were all green, I feel it would be harder, like the SNK.
@@bradbelter738 very good. I mean I don't need the orange lume to glow super bright for a long time. Like most lume on the watches I own, even if it does, as long as the dim level holds relatively long enough, that works for me as eyes adjusted in the dark should still pick up something. If it's all together gone, that's another story.
I don’t know if you picked one up already and yes although the orange fades relatively quicker than the green it’s still noticeable however dim, and it’s really lovely that way. I picked this up a few days ago and it’s only growing on me.
This is a beautiful watch. Seiko watches usually last lifetime and requires less maintenance, that is why Seiko watch is the best !!! No comparison !!!

I'm almost crying I got a seiko watch, it's my first one! And I'm happy with the quality and I'm very happy with the longevity too
Thank you for your service. Is the crystal scratched? Beautiful watch, but hardlex crystal is a no go imo.
Your code for Mimo’s is what I used for a little birthday gift to myself recently. Talk about a sweet deal. 👍🏻
I absolutely love the the design of the dial and the case finish, I just wish it was as thin as the SNK range. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
I really like the black version with the orange hands. Just when I thought I was taking a break from Seikos...haha
Nice watch for the price. Would be even better with color matched day-date discs.
Did you mention the upgraded 100m water resistance? I missed it if you did. Nice looking watch, love the splash of orange.
Cool, simple design and nice colorway. This new 5 line is really good.
If the day/date background was black it would have made a huge difference. The white background is a real bummer..

Love this one. Thanks for doing this vid Rob.
That’s a badass watch!!!
Just picked up SRPH31 yesterday and really impressed so far.
How's your watch rn mate??
The red band is something new. Very cool looks and review shared.
For me it was a toss up between this Seiko and the Hamilton Khaki, I opted for the Hamilton....
I really like this watch, when your title name change... Mr. Stewart ... :)
Hello. Yeah google got me. Gotta fix that
These are more expensive because they're made in Japan. The previous line of Seiko field watches were outsourced.

Most current Seiko will say made in Japan. They brought most of the production back to Japan with the pandemic supply issues.
@@RandomRobReviews got it Rob! Thank you 👍🏾
Nice watch, I prefer the old Seiko 5 emblem.
It would be a keeper if it had a sapphire crystal.
Mimo is cool, he is a supporter 💦

Nice watch and made in Japan.
Can you compare this to the Bulova Hack?
is the strap on it customizable

I'm buying the blue one .

Hmmm...time to replace my 809? maybe...
200m?
Not really a Seiko fan - but this is a super cool watch !
I think it might have been better if they had orange stitching on the strap.
Sweet package
