I dont think that this was the reason she repeating questions about the location. He probably spoofed/concealed his location data so the operator probably had to rely solely on the adress given by the caller or wanted to correlate the spoofed adress to the given adress. So to increase the odds of sending the units to the correct adress (and also to listen for inconsistencies), she wanted him to repeat the adress several times.
But yes she was definitely not expecting to hear "kilometers" when there was no distinct indications beforehand of the caller beeing non native to the U.S.

I once stood up to 6 thugs (2 armed with brass knuckles and a broken bottle) and refused to give up my wallet. I know it was really idealistic (and even more dumb) of me. But I was young then. I thought: "I won't help enabling them robbing people in the future by making it easy for them". By then I did years of full contact Martial Arts, but of course, I wasn't as overconfident or as dumb to think I could stand up to 6 people on my own. Life is not a Martial Arts movie. So yeah, the end result was that they were unable to rob me, though I got badly mangled. As this was in a public place - they had to run off. I had some fractures, bruises and a broken nose...again! (I had it broken twice before, both times in the ring, - the second time was actually the worst). I did disarm the two armed individuals at the expense of being steamrolled over by the rest of them. The most amazing thing was that I walked away on my own after that. I'm not so sure I'd do something like that again though, and I don't advice you to do the same, no matter how good you think you are. A wallet isn't worth your life. But, at the same time, - learn to stand up for yourself if you haven't already. Don't allow others to bully you because you risk becoming an easy target for the rest of your life, and you really don't want that.

The thing about swatting is it shows the lack of common sense & trigger happiness amongst police.
The first story, when dudes daughter went outside she easily could have told them she wasn't locked in a bathroom and her mom wasn't killed.
The police could easily have looked through the windows and seen everything was okay.
Additionally if someone is going to murder their family they aren't calling the police to tell them then wait for the cops to get there before doing it.
Police with their "We got a call..." BS and their willingness to throw out any thought, reason, or common sense is just insane; moreso than someone getting this hellbent to have a short user name. Why more? Because cops do this shit hundreds of times a day every day. "We got a call so we need to violate your rights."

Invest in very strong doors, ideally ones that would stop rifle rounds, don't open them to the police, talk to them through the door, figure out the situation while still safe inside and if you do need to step out, make damn sure to keep your hands visible, away from pockets, show only the hands at first and wait for them to confirm it's all good (worst case you will be shot on the hand, not the head), then walk out entirely. Should be pretty foolproof. Need reinforced doors though...

Hey Jack, I've a topic suggestion for a future video, whenever you cover social engineering again, this one is targeted at "websites" specifically trying to gain access to website admin logins via "SEO building" phishing emails. to me it's obvious its not legit, but I'm an IT professional and i look out for these things, but a few of these look really legit. and if your website is suffering, you might be desperate enough to try their service. some of these even came from legit company domain emails, but weren't actually from company employees. how they've managed to do this is beyond my ability to say. but the idea of hackers taking over websites all over the world and using them as nodes for sending out attacks is terrifying.

The Grindr story made me think of a time i considered meeting a dude to do that.
I didn't do it because of the risk it was a scam.
"Open the door and come in, ill be in the back bedroom naked in bed in the dark."
I think this is a fairly common thing that does happen. it's not for, though.

This intro taught me something about Jack. He is more Jack Rhysider than he is Jack Reacher.😂😂😂 But hell, at least he fucking knows it! That bully he mentioned is a true foreshadowing of a potentially dangerous criminal. You know? The ones that will chase younger teens across traffic to punch someone out in the middle of a damn bank, where innocent people will clearly see it? Few things are off limits for people with that kind of audacity. Hell. He might’ve been a hardcore punk with an allegiance to the mosh pit. When I wasn’t being a nerd at my Mac or on stage with other prog shredders, I was going to the same shows as the thrashers and punks. You don’t have to fuck with those malware. They’re like a self programmed zero click that likes to DOS the rest of the crowd from having a safe time. Fucking Worms….

@@abigalanderson7494 The wife and kids being alive would easily prove the "exigent circumstances" were bullshit is what he's saying. But they don't care because they want to find something to charge him with.
The OPs point is that gasoline could have easily got him arrested just by itself if it was found, and there are MANY reasons to legally have gasoline. One of which is if you have a lawn mower, or maybe you wanted to stock up on fuel for your car. If he did have gas anywhere but inside his car, he would have been screwed.

@@abigalanderson7494 your comment is just scary, do you really have no idea of how policing works in many other countries. Also no one suggested 100% defense, that’s a ridiculous thing to say. There is a massive number of American police using a level of force that wouldn’t be tolerated in many developed countries, not to mention that there are a lot that appear psychologically unfit to work as police.
