That was the original intention. This was originally a trailer pitch for Big Finish. However, due to health issues and other IRL problems outside of my control, I have resorted to upload it to RUclips as its own titles concept.
Thanks for noticing. I added a little symbolism with the cracked version of Hartnell's logo, implying that underneath the very first logo is a whole other lifetime's worth of history about the Doctor that we have never known before.
This is some fantastic work you have done mate! I really love how you made the logo split to show how much our doctors timeline has fractured over the years
Damn this looks awesome man. From the colours of the slit scan and the homage to Hartnell but not exactly like the beginning of the 63 intro and the vortex, *French kiss* everything looks stellar! (Please fit her in the cannon satisfyingly Russell, I love her take on the Doctor, please?)
Thanks 🙏 I feel RTD don't even wanna touch Chibnall's era and rather focus on his own stuff now that he's returning. And honestly I don't blame him. But I do hope Big Finish will do a fantastic job with Jo Martin.
@@adamwalkervfx I mean yeah that would fix the issues Chibnall left behind but feels bad for Jo yk? After all what was the point Chibnall if you’re not going to elaborate on the arc in the first place? And he did it a bad job with it all, especially with Jodie. I feel like he uses the timeless child thing on Jodie just so he can slap whatever substance on her incarnation
@@c0nvict_pleb174I think it was really said best when Chibnall had that interview in DWM basically confessing he was making it all up as the episodes went by and had no endgame to resolve everything with the Timeless Child arc. It's something that I feel most writers are guilty of at some point, but that still didn't stop all of his supporters suddenly turning on him after admitting that over night.
@@c0nvict_pleb174Yeah, and not gonna lie, the idea of the Timeless Child is just a botched modernization of the Cartmel Masterplan anyways. If you're gonna adapt something, try and at least keep it authentic to its original interpretation, perhaps getting Andrew Cartmel himself to help with it. But no, Chibnall had to blunder in head first before doing any research or planning as always. 🙄
Absolutely amazing! God I wish they will give us a Division spin-off! That would be so cool!! (And they can hire you for the title sequence then, please and thank you :) I got chills when I heard her talk at the end. And that TARDIS opening was so neat!) Like, it's not only about Jo (though I admit, it mostly is). It would also mean more Lee (yeah, sure, would love to see him again and properly get to know him) and Gat (oh my god, are you kidding me, I need more Gat/Doctor power struggles and trying to maintain a close friendship while ultimately wanting completely different things) and KARVANISTA (I am so not done with him or his species. I want to see more Lupari! And I want to see him being friends with the Doctor, being grumpy but also so much more hopeful than we've seen him. Give me young!Karvanista now!)
I know a lot of people didn't like the whole Timeless Child thing. But I'm okay with it, especially after reading a Reddit post about the Doctor still being a Time Lord. And considering the Fugitive Doctor was before the First Doctor and thus a Timeless child incarnation. I'm gonna assume that that was the first Incarnation where the Doctor called himself the Doctor. And I'm willing to welcome the Fugitive Doctor as one of his lives anyday. As of 2023, there have been Seventeen Doctors, not counting the other Timeless Child incarnations.
Well, the main problem I have with Timeless Child is that it's a blatant plagiarisation of the Caramel Masterplan from the 7th Doctor era. And a poorly executed one at that. I loved the idea behind the mystery of the Other and how their legacy among Time Lords were tied with the Doctor. To be fair, some of it worked, and some of it didn't. But I feel that Cartmel Masterplan was dealt with a lot better, even if it was told primarily through books rather than on-screen, because you know...Doctor Who was actually cancelled off the air back then. And regarding the Fugitive Doctor, these titles were based on the Doctor Who Origins comic, which goes by the assumption that Fugitive is kind of like a 0th Doctor, right before Hartnell. However, there have been some indications in some Big Finish audios recently, most notably the Beyond War Games set, that Fugitive might be between Troughton and Pertwee. Maybe that's something they are gearing up for their Fugitive Doctor set. Who knows, eh?
Finally, the moment we've been waiting for!! And this did NOT disappoint It is a real shame that you ended up not pitching it to the BBC or Big Finish, because I could definitely see this being used as official promotional material. I mean come on, look at that TARDIS console rendering and tell me that isn't something that Big Finish wouldn't use on a daily basis- Alas, I know those were out of your control I adore how you show the TARDIS chameleon circuit changing, suggesting that it still could've changed shape very easily as a pre-Hartnell incarnation; although the theory that makes the most sense is Martin being a 6B Doctor, I thought the shifting TARDIS exteriors was a FABULOUS touch! You even threw in a little Anthony Ainley pillar for good measure, nice one there The howlaround portions? Fabulous, simply fabulous - they look really natural and ethereal~ Something I'd expect to see from an old Doctor Who archive tape - though it's obvious that you know your way around a howlaround sequence anyways, I still love to see it The theme song sounds muted in just the right way to get that extra mystery factor without sounding out of place; it almost sounds like it was mixed with the pilot theme judging by some of the echo; and don't think I didnt hear some of that Delaware warble at the end~ I LOVE how the Doctor Who logo shatters! It is so AMAZING! Ooooohhh~ And the font you used for the name credit is so pretty, I love the texture, the shine, the color, EVERYTHING And then the way that your business logo fades in from the final howlaround vortex was just the icing on the cake DEFINITELY worth the wait! I hope you'll be able to create something to pitch to the big guys soon, but at the very least you can add this masterpiece to your portfolio~ Professional as ever~!
@@DrVolk Not a lot of people know this, but the texture for the slit scan tunnel where the TARDIS's chameleon circuit glitches out is actually the Fugitive Doctor's shirt.
That's not the actress' fault mind. Head canon says the fugitive Doctor is a forced regeneration in between the 2nd and 3rd Doctors. Hell, Big Finish's Beyond War Games kind of alludes to that being a possibility.
@@adamwalkervfx I personally think something like this doctor is the timeless child and the doctor was the first to receive the original 12 set of generations and the process leads to them sharing memories.
