Great video and idea
marry me
as an Algerian Hamoud Blanc is definitely my favourite too especially during summer times
Thank you for your work
actually you can get Hamoud in Canada
Cool video.
I work in advertising here in Algeria, and i hear from colleges working with coca that Algeria is the only place they face serious competition with local beverages, not only Hamoud, but there are a lot other local brands in other regions than Algiers.
Btw, i find these local beverages sweeter than locally produced coca cola. Don't know about the one made in the us.
correct we have actually around 100 plus soda brands
thats interesting. thanks for sharing.
Marwa apple the best
coca in algeria it's discusting !!! the local brand are far better !!!
More of these please don't stop the fruit reviews but review all kinds of foods on your trips youre easy to listen to
You can find Hamoud Boualem in Europe and Canada coz there's a lot of Algerians living there. You should try Hamoud Blanc with a fish meal like sardines 💯🇩🇿
With some fries on the side best combo so far
Or with m'hajeb
@@miroushebsheb3943hot mhajeb with hamoud boualem is so good

I am Jordanian, and I've been living at Algeria for the past 7 years, I tell you that, Hammoud Boulaam is superior to Coca cola and others, especially Selecto.
Good reminder to bring my family a bottle of Hammoud next time I go back to Jordan.
You are Always welcome in your seconde country

@@Mohtellawiwhere are you now?

Still at Algeria, why?
@@Mohtellawivery good ❤
Since you mentioned the presence of Hamoud products outside of Algeria. I can confirm that I've bought its products multiple times in Europe (Germany, Czech Republic). Plus, I know you can still find it in France, Belguim, UK, Canada, and maybe in the US as well.
Nyc . Excatly in Astoria queens.
I’ve got these at an Algerian grocery store near me they are really good! The original lemon one is my favorite, I try not to buy them too often though as I don’t like having soda around the house.
I am Algerian I suggest for you next time a soda called "zaim" appel flavour
@@Fatimael37804 Zaim الزعيم is number one in sales now in Algeria. Hard to find in Algiers though.
yup, zaim is from blida
@@devopsyoutube I beleive it is from Setif? I remember they were giving it for free using their trucks in my city in their early launch.
@@Fatimael37804nah hamoud is the best though
Many thanks , Slecto is actually a non alcaholic cider ! Notice that ORANGINA was born in Algeria too. From delicious Algerian oranges !
Love these junk food reviews! I totally agree! It’s way more fun and interesting when visiting foreign countries to experience products specific to that region, rather than the same old globalized brands.
The real experience when you try traditional dishes in Algeria, such as couscous with lamb, shakhshoukhah, zfaiti, olive tagine, al-Mahajib, meat sandwiches, almuthawam , and many other delicious traditional dishes ....
Welcome to Algeria and good appetite my friend

Ah lucky you! Just opened the last selecto can that my husband brought when he visited algiers recently 😅, I miss Hamoud soda!
That's a good man you got.
It's strange that original hammoud is not more recognized in the states.. Because we don't have that specific flavor here
It's sold in Canada, in the french speaking regions, I don't know about the English speaking regions though
@@chaimalekkam4233yeah i see them a lot in france and canada i dont know about other countries
The arabe countries too but its rare there
They are probably sold in countries with big Algerian communities just as some Asian countries do too and it makes sense tbh that being said, a century and half old brand should always aim higher even tho soft drinks market is a war zone
I live in Connecticut, I do drink hammoud soda products, mostly you can find them at halal markets.
Les Américains ont tout fais pour racheter Hamoud, mais l’Algerie ne vend pas, l’Amerique ne connaît pas mais les firmes de Soda Américaines connaissent Hamoud depuis longtemps !
As half Algerian I've always said that if I had the money I would export these beverages. When I go on holidays I refuse to drink Coca-Cola or Pepsi. I done drink sodas here in Europe but I treat myself when I'm in Algeria.
Thank you my son, you are always welcome in your country
Hope u have a nice time in Algeria, it's country with a rich culture and gastronomy !
All love from Algeria
I recommend you try traditional food if you're still in Algeria Ofc...
Traditional food in our country has ultimately other particular tastes which I know you will mostly adore
Love these not-fruit reviews.
Next time if possible pour the drink in a glass or something so we can see the color and fizziness
Hamoud is clear/white,selecto and hamoud cola are the same color as coke (black/dark brown)
@@mekhmoukhmehdi6923 Thank You very much for explaining.
I’m an RC cola fan, just cola not all the side tastes, lol. Glad to see there’s soda alternatives around the world. I miss the old tamarind soda out of Mexico before it got syrupy. Now I have to make my own, lol.
Are you talking about Jarritos? Didn't taste syrupy last time I had it
@@brandon9172 maybe I’ll give it a try, it’s been a long while. As a longtime diabetic, I should probably stick to my version, only add stevia for sweetener to the paste & sparkling water (unless I’m being creative with add-Ins). Like the hit of sweet, long finish of tart by now.
I love RC too. I enjoy the taste and it's cheaper than coke or Pepsi.
Hamouda is way better than cola 😂
Another RC fan here, and I’ll have to try Jarritos as well because I do like tamarind
Love the snack and soda reviews! Keep up the good work

Just some interesting soda facts
Vernors->oldest soda in America 1866
Schweppe's oldest bottled soda in the world->1783
Carbonated Mineral Water->1767
I wish Vernors was easier to find. That stuff is great.
I love citrus drinks-I need to try that first one!!
I hope you've got more of these foreign snack reviews waiting to be uploaded, I can't get enough 🙏

I wish you'd gotten your hands on some glass bottle products. The taste is superior.
For the 🇺🇸 people, you can try this soda in NYC , exactly in Steinway street , Astoria , Queens
Welcom in Algeria, hope you will get a good times here.
I hope you get to review more snacks from other countries in Africa. I know Zimbabwe has some interesting takes on chocolate.
am new to your channel and i already love it!
Very interesting, enjoyed this a lot!
Thank you man for the review.
Nice review of these cultural industrial inheritance btw, I like that you tried something as iconic as this product array of beverages, one bad thing I noticed is that you portrayed the Algerian streets in a bad way 3:06 as if there were no clean areas around! I would’ve loved that your followers had seen the real face & gotten a better impression on my beautiful country and its culture. Hope to see another footage of you trying traditional food, I know it’s not gonna be short.
1876
Root Beer is first known to have been marketed commercially at the Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition in 1876 by a teetotal Philadelphia pharmacist named Charles Hires who is said to have discovered a recipe for a delicious herbal tea while on his honeymoon.
We only have selecto in France it seems, though I''d love to try la gazouz blanche
The Hamoud Blanche sounds like Sanpellegrino Limonata. I'm curious about the carbonation levels.
That's what it sounded like to me also!
Hammud bualam la blanc ,is the original lemon soda came from old recipe of lemon beverages in algerian as so as selecto.
And as algerian cuisine depends on lemon in many cuisine recipes from ice cream to sweets and also dishes.
Happy you did like hammud blanc
OMG I want to try these! I ADORE Soda!
You gotta try Hamouuud

We love these sodas with a history! In Morocco we'd recommend Poms as a pretty unique soda or Hawai.
I'll check those out when I end up in Morocco.

You should try black raspberries (Rubus occidentalis); they grow in the eastern U.S. and they're really good.
Great reviews.

Welcome to algeria bro glad you liked hamoud blanc i like to drink it with sandwiches (shawarma,tacos,...)
U should visit oran in algeria cause it's a wonderful place
If you are ever in the UK, R White's Lemonade was first made in 1845. They have probably changed the recipe, though. They went on to do a whole range od sodas.
My favourite drink in Algeria is the Hamoud La Blanche! It is a lemonish Limonade which to me tastes like San Pellegrino Limonade. 🍋🍋🍋!
I notice you haven't reviewed tindora / ivy goard. It's a cubensis that ripens into a red fruit
The earliest produced American soda is purported to be Vernor's Ginger Ale. Vernor's is totally unlike any other soda that I know of in flavor that is presented under the name of "ginger ale". It has a unique taste resembling a cream soda in addition to the ginger flavor. This is assumed to be, at least in part, from the oak barrel aging process which the Vernor's syrup undergoes, but I don't know whether they still make it that way. Vernor's originated in Michigan shortly after the American civil war. If you've never tried it you're missing a wonderful taste experience. My recollections of it go back to my earliest childhood in Tampa Florida more than 70 years ago. Believe it or not, this is not a paid promotion on my part.
Vernors is the best ginger ale! So smooth.
Except I do like some of the ginger ales from the health food store which taste totally different but have a lot of real ginger in them.
@@johnnyearp52 I agree Johnny. I like the "ginger beers" very much myself.

In Japan, Asahi has Craft Cola and that is a delight.

Hammoud Boualem used to make a great soda, nowadays they're selling sweetened water, I don't know what happened, but i stopped buying their product. N'gaouess and Bona make a great and consistent drink.
Bro this video is from El Harrach city boumati to be exact i would love to meet you there sometime
Do they refrigerate them and can you get ice with your drinks there?
We do refrigerate them but i don't know if you can get ice with drinks
It woul be great if you could use a glass to see the colours of the beverages.
Hamoud lemon taste is the best even in the Middle East restaurants whenever I go late to an Algerian restaurant I only find the black one left. Mostly ppl order the white Hamoud daily early as they know they won’t find any at the end of the day.
Does the Blanc taste like Limonata from Italy?
were the sodas cold ??
The taste of Hamoud Soda in Algeria 🇩🇿 is a way better than the taste of it in a different country 😂. You guys really should buy it from Algeria it seems like the taste is a way different. Even the taste of CocaCola in Algeria 🇩🇿 it's not the same.
Nice!
Selecto's branding reminds me of 50's-70's dishwashing detergent.

Hamoud Blanc is my favorite ❤❤❤
Fermenting process of fruits causes it to fizz before fermenting. So fizzy drinks could of been here longer maybe since man been making beer and alcohol
Not exactly. The "fizz" is carbon dioxide excreted by yeast as a byproduct of alcoholic fermentation (though bacterial fermentations can also produce CO2, but they tend to be acidic fermentations). That is to say, the "fizz" isn't formed before fermentation, it's formed during fermentation.

I'm in Morocco and tasted Hamoud drinks in France. They taste so good but unfortunately we can't buy them here in Morocco, even though we're neighbors.
That's really unfortunate. I really hope that things will get better between these two countries.
Why don't you start a business and sell it in Morocco? I am sure you will do great. The Algerian sauce is very popular in Morocco so maybe Hammoud will have success there too
