The bridge segregating the terminus is a fantastic idea, and it all looks like it’s coming together!

Hi Gary great to see you again in full swing around your layout, just only getting back to my layout after been away from it for over a year as I was selling up and moving so a lot of stuff was packed away and the train room was used to decluter the house while selling as it turned out sale agreed the house but couldn't find somewhere to go and ended up not moving thank god I hadn't dismantled the layout, so have to get back and post some videos. Again great to see you again take care of yourself.
    Regards
    David

Hi David, Oh my that was lucky in one sense keeping the layout but glad to hear your planning to get back into it.
Moving house is one of our pet hates having railways and something we struggle to plan around..
Look after yourself and I look forward to hearing how its all going 👍
      Cheers Garry..

Hi Gary, nice to see an update.
I'm planning a small roundy roundy layout 2ft deep with an up and downline plus a raised shuttle track for a DMU.
The inner line will be wired to allow DC or DCC running and the outer just DCC.
You've made some excellent progress and it's all looking good. Cheers!

That was great Gary, it amazes me what you can fit into a small space. I have been complaining about a 7'X2' space not being big enough for a single industry on my layout and yet you can fit a whole town scene in a corner. Well done, love Baker St. David.

      Many thanks David.
      Love this comment - Nice 💕 👍
I really do not know the answer on space planning as every layout is completely different, but for myself I just look what I want and how I can bend the scene in to it I guess. Not sure I have any magic 😂
To be honest - Not everyone loves a condensed or compromised layout but it is a model railway after all, and it's what suits the model builder.
I loved my old layout but it was too flat and the long baseboards were only 11 inches deep, something I wished on this plan but stretching the space a touch more gave me a bit of ambition to push track running.
Thanks as always and wishing all the best Garry

Your new scenery looks good Gary. It does take a while to get all the components mentally positioned and then positioned in the system the way you want it. Taking this time is the right thing to do. Well done. 👍 Regards, Dirk

Real concrete is the answer there, certainly helps with the effect.
PVA Glue and fine mortar power sprinkled on and smeared around and scooped off with a card..
Stains the base layer with a minute coating. its just what I use anyways..🤔

Corner scene looking good and it leaves you room for building a road which looks as if it should be there (if that makes sense) to bring two parts of your layout together.
Master Modelling Wall is a great idea and I am already on it with these three and fully agree with your comments about them. Take care regards Barry. 👍

    • @cheekytek
      @cheekytek  4 месяца назад

      Gee thanks Barry
I totally agree as you have mentioned with the town scene - crying out for more roads and bridges etc.. 👍 I appreciate this. Thanks..
yeah we all used to do shout outs to help modellers but its all dissolved.
So I thought it nice to spread the inspiration of modellers to others as after all we all want to find the easy way to modelling.
      Thanks as always..
Take care my friend and look after yourself 👍
      All the best Garry

Hi Martin. Thanks for the comment, as to Exhibition's north of England they are a struggle for me to fit in due to my work patterns, Have to see buddy..
I did watch your latest video 3 weeks ago - you've got some nice sound steam engines running there -and the layout is looking fab.
P.S Thank you kind Sir for the mention at the end.
Everyone is worthy to be mentioned because of this craft we all love, as I see everyone has a different modelling styles where they find inspiration in the smallest details sometimes - wherever they see it 👍
But the most important thing is enjoy what your hobby or making.

Hi Garry, what can I say, I'm humbled you would think of promoting my little channel as you did. Only just heard about it through one of my subscribers yesterday. I'm ashamed to say I haven't had much time to catch up with your and other people's channels I follow of late. 🫣 I can't thank you enough for the kind words. I nearly caught up with you at GETS. Just saw the back of you thanks to my wife pointing you out, but not to be seen again as you disappeared into the crowd. Next time eh?, definitely need to shake your hand mate. Hopefully, I will be off to Alexander Palace next week. Your layout is coming along nicely and I promise to watch after I type this. Many thanks again atvb Graham 😊👍
