Maple Leaf Log Cabin - Fat Quarter Friendly Fall Quilt Pattern and Tutorial

- Maple Leaf Log Cabin is one of the first quilts I designed and published the pattern to. It was before I discovered modern quilting, so it is very traditional, but perfect for fall.
The quilt combines the maple leaf and log cabin blocks, then sets it in a barn raising setting to create beautiful contrast that keeps your eye moving around the quilt. I collected scraps for months for this quilt, using bright orange, maroon, purple and teals for the fall leaves and browns and greens for the log cabin strips. That way the leaves pop as they fall all around the quilt.
You'll learn how to make half square triangles from squares, how to cut log cabin strips on the length of fabric using the Marti Michell method so they don't stretch, and how to lay everything out so your blocks look scrappy.
This is the quilt that is on my bed right now as the weather turns cold. The pattern comes in multiple sizes from table topper, all the way to king. And with fat quarter-friendly instructions, you can shop your stash to find something that will work.

Let me first say, I greatly enjoy your tutorials ! I have a question though. In your fabric instruction, you are requiring “4 fat quarters in blue, purple, teal or orange for the leaves” , do you mean 1of each or 4 of each color?? I love the look of this one !! Thank you !!
Do you use a quilt as you go method to quilt it? For a home machine, I’ve been doing that for years
Olá, adoro é lindo!!
Excellent tute! Thank you. ❤️
Are you using an open-toe presser foot?
Thank you! And I am using a standard presser foot
