I personally like the Passport. Ideal kayak for someone who wants a lighter, less expensive craft that is simple. A molded one is even better but honestly the Thermaforming was plenty strong. There are a lot of negative reviews on the rudder system but I actually like the system. It isn't a big deal to drop it down before you go off and then it is very simple and strong.
I am betting that they will discontinue the regular passport in the near future. Why would anyone pay the same price for a regular passport when you can have the rotomolded version for the same price. Also the seat securing system is a MAJOR improvement over the regular model. Since it's rotomolded, I am assuming now it will be made by Hobie in the USA and not BIC.
I agree they did say this model is for north and South America. So maybe our European Hobie friends will still have the regular passports but yes I’m assuming it makes more sense to make the here and not have to ship them across the ocean from France
Just realized my absolutely horrible editing around the 4 minute mark 😂

I agree with everything you said.People who want more features are looking at the wrong kayak
Perfect timing as I’m buying my first pedal kayak going with the 10.5r for fishing, wish it didn’t come with the 180 drive as a upgrade option.
Do you mean you wish it did come with the 180 option? It just comes with a standard mirage drive with kick up fins.
You will love the new yak!
Thanks alot 🙏🙏🙏
Rotomoldade and thermoformade have a Very diference? I think the serie r of passport, is for easy production.
The thermo formed kayaks are 2 different pieces and were built in France. Much easier for Hobie to rotomold them in North America

no reverse on the pedal drive?
Correct it only has a standard GT mirage drive with kick up fins. No reverse.
