It’s such a nice looking yak, but I have some friends that are having trouble with getting hobie to take care of warranties. This is also trailer only type of kayak.
@@Gator-xi2jq I work part time at a dealer and have had very almost. I difficulty getting warranty claims approved for pretty much all issues. I put this kayak on my roof rack and in my truck bed easily but ma h people do trailer them
I just put a deposit on a 2023 PA12 360 as it was on sale for 4700 out the door. It has the front seat support plates installed already. Am I going to regret getting this? Just learning about all of the cracks in the drive well.
I don’t think you will regret it at all! I had a 2020 and then a 2023 and no cracks. You have a 3 year warranty so if it were to crack there you would end up getting a new hull under warranty.
For a 1300 difference I would have no reservations about purchasing an older 360 as long as it’s been cared for well. The new improvements are very nice to have but after owning a couple of the older versions I never had problems with them either besides the very first 360 drive I had in 2020.
Does anyone use these for wildlife photography? Currently I use a pontoon with a trolling motor mounted port side, but it's usually just me so I'm thinking of going with a kayak like this for my photography
I know some people who do! I would look at the Hobie lynx. The pro angler is a great fishing platform but probably a little overkill for just photography. The Lynx is super lightweight but in my experience is just as stable as a pro angler.

I’m looking to purchase my first fishing kayak. Trying to do my research first and I came across the RUclips channel Aggressively Average Anglers. These two guys don’t accept any commissions from other companies. They recently did a review of the Hobie Pro-Angler 360. I need to know if this company has fixed the three major issues mentioned. Hobie Pro Angler 360 Why We're DONE With The Industry's BEST FISHING KAYAK! Aggressively Average Anglers Three major problems: 1. Inside Drive Shaft - has a little rubber belt inside a tube. When this breaks you can’t steer on the water. This attaches to the send problematic issue, (2) The clutch - This is the most important component to get the gears to turn. Without the clutch you cannot 360. The clutch has a spring inside of it and this spring breaks a lot. Has a very short lifespan. (3) The third component that is problematic is the actual 360 Drive.
I watched their video also! I’ve owned 3 360 kayaks and each one was put through nearly 100 days on the water. I never had problems with my steering systems and only had to replace my original drive because of the small bearings all under warranty. I’m going to be putting the XR through its paces over the next year and with the new improvements I expect it to perform flawlessly. I also have replaced several steering systems in the kayak shop I work part time in now. The original 360 required constant adjustment of the clutch belt tube and clutch which led to many failures because people would not properly adjust their kayaks. The new system looks to be much easier to make sure it’s all working properly. I e been with Hobie for 8 years and I don’t plan on switching anytime soon. Their product for the areas and ways I fish are unbeatable and there’s no way I would go back to the bicycle pedal movement. I definitely recommend trying any kayak that you might be interested in though to find which one will be best for you! I will add this also, people are so quick to jump ship when a company goes through some turbulence and post their issues online for views and clicks. I don’t blame them but videos about problems in products tend to get way more attention then people who don’t post because they don’t have problems. Personally I’m very confident Hobie made necessary improvements to improve reliability.

Now if they would give all the people that bought the crappy version of the 360 , the parts to change what they have for free. Then they might actually be a company worth a damn.

Debating buying a 2022 PA14 360 non XR for $6200CAD or a 2023 360 XR for $8000.

I think I paid for the beta test. My hobie should have allowed me to buy the existing 360 degree improvement.

Just get a pdl 120 great customer service thick plastic bullet proof drive very stable no head aches!!..ive had them all and wish i started with a pdl

Old town makes a great product! I just could never switch from the mirage drive I’ve been using it for so long.
