Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video -- at 12:48 in the video you mention ZenBeats and Roland Cloud. I am gettin the GP-9 this week and also use RolandCloud in my studio--- how would Zenbeats work with the GP-9-- Looks like you are showing it on the iPad and not in the PianoApp -
Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, the Zenbeats app is a separate app for iOS. You would use it outside of The Roland Piano App, but your Cloud membership will work with both. Hope that helps! ...and good luck with your new GP-9! What a great piano!
My main complaint would be not being able to export your own recordings in any way….
Hi, AJ! We totally agree. We have mentioned this to Roland and requested that they work on a method to export music from the app. Thanks for your feedback!
@@RivertonPianoCompanythat’s great to know, thanks!
Thank you for such great feedback! This really helps us show Roland what folks want!
@@RivertonPianoCompany I have to second this feedback, would be really nice to allow it to convert the recordings to audio files to export
Thank you!
I have also issues with accompanient delay with fp-30x
Also sugession for developement: adding tones to favourites. It is very hard to change tones during playing and scrolling the list.
Thank you, Peekoo! We'll pass that on!
Favourites would be great!
We agree!
Hi I am a blind user and using accessibility voice over feature of iOS device. I have recently purchased LX 706 digital Piano. I could able to connect application with my Piano but in the application some of the features of accessibility does not work like it doesn’t describe me some of the images and buttons name. Can this be improved in the next version so that person like me could also use application with its full features. I have explained this to the technical person here in Mumbai India at Roland Centre and he told me that he would discuss with the Roland technical team. I hope I would get soon The updated version where I could use this fantastic feature of the application.
Hello and thank you for your comment. We will mention this to Roland too. Hopefully, they will fix this in a future update!
How to use AUTO FILL IN under accompaniment --> advanced setting?
Hi, Sylvia! AUTO FILL IN just creates a drum fill when you switch between Variation 1 and 2. Turn it on and - when you switch between variations - it will insert a little drum fill before making the change. Thanks for a great question!
Recently bought a fp 10 really love it with the app. I might have missed it in the video but is there any way to add own songs into the app?
Hello and thanks for watching! Glad to hear you're enjoying your Roland FP-10! As far as bringing your own music into the app, the only way to do that is to record a song into the internal memory and access it through the app. It's not ideal, but that's the best you can do with this app. Of course, you could use a different app (like Garage Band, etc.) to record songs from your FP-10.
Is there a way to get Sustained notes without using a sustain pedal, from the settings?
I'd have to think about that for a minute. Why would you ever want to do this?
Got 2 question here
1)Do we have to purchase membership to use the flashcards and one week master features?
2)I know that roland fp 10 does not have the one week master feature, but from which fp seriers we will be able to have the one week master feature
Hi and thanks for stopping by. No. You don't have to purchase a membership to use the flashcards or one week master features. If your piano has access to those features, then you can use them without the "Roland Cloud" membership. I believe every Roland from the FP-30X on up has access to both features, but I am not 100% sure on that. We don't stock the FP-10 or FP-30X so I can't verify that for you. I would check with Roland to be sure.
Thanks you for answering my question, can I ask you to reply after you had confirmed about the FP 30x?
I put in a request to Roland. I will post what they send me - if they reply.
Good news! I got confirmation from Roland that everything from the FP-30X on up has the One Week Master feature.
Thanks you so much ❤️ am planning to buy one
is there a way to pre save tone settings for live performance? or does one have to change settings and go through the whole step process during a live show?
If your piano has Registrations, yes. You can save tone settings, etc... and recall them in a live performance setting with the touch of a button (or pedal).
Géniale l'application mais quel dommage qu'on n'ait pas 1 version française
J'espère qu'ils pourront en faire un bientôt !
In the module Learning, I have only Flashcard, and not One Week Master. Do you know why ?
Hi, Ariane! Which Roland do you have? (The Roland Piano App conforms to the features available on your piano.)
Hi Riverton, thank you for your return. I have a FP-10.
I conclude that it's normal, it’s a pity.
Yeah. The FP-10 is the least expensive Roland Digital Piano on the market and - thus - has the fewest features. If you decide to upgrade down the road, let us know and we can help recommend a Roland piano with that feature. Best of luck to you!
I have 2 questions
1. Is it possible to connect to the Roland the piano designer app and to RUclips at the same time so that you can play RUclips music simultaneously?
2. Is it possible to save sound presets in this Roland software and retrieve from there for playing?
Hello! Thanks for watching and for your questions. Here are the answers:
1. Yes. You can connect to the Roland Piano Designer App via Bluetooth MIDI and connect to RUclips via Bluetooth AUDIO and use them simultaneously on most Roland models.
2. Yes and No. You can't save registrations in The Roland Piano App, but you can save your customized piano setups in Piano Designer.
I hope that helps!
Are there strings and guitar available?
Yep. There are several strings and several guitar sounds.
I really like the ability to toggle accompaniment on/off for learning, and turn off one hand or the other. How big is the library of these songs? Is it free, or does it require the subscription? Or do you pay per song?
Hello and thanks for your question! The number of free songs included depends on which Roland piano you purchased. If you have an HP, LX or GP series, you'll have more than 300 songs in there. These songs don't require a subscription. If, however, you want to add more songs, you can purchase a subscription to The Roland Cloud. This adds hundreds more songs! ...and I think it's $30 per year or something really inexpensive.
Cool app. Is there a way to restore the default settings?
Hi, Axe! Yes. You can always restore the factory settings.
When I go into piano settings, the only setting I’m able to see is master volume. How do I get the other settings such as master tuning and brilliance to show up? I have a Roland FP-30.
The Roland Piano App conforms to each instrument's capabilities. If those features aren't showing up, they aren't available on your keyboard. The FP-30x doesn't have as many features as the piano we were showing. Sorry for the confusion!
Are there any plans for adding fp-e50 to the list of compatible pianos?
From what we understand, no. That keyboard is not considered part of the "Home Piano" line so it uses a different app. Wish we had better news!
@RivertonPianoCompany I can tell you already that there is a huge interest in Japan, so it will most likely be added, however no ETA for it yet :). I've got this from Roland support
That's really exciting! Fingers crossed!
I connected on my android device. Thank you.
Hi Android users. Do not connect via your phone's Bluetooth (if you are then disconnect or else it'll screw you over). Connect directly via the app.
YES! That's a great reminder. We mention that - do NOT connect through your Bluetooth settings on your tablet or smart phone. Connect through the app. It does all the work for you. Thanks for watching!
After saving my recordings, can other users playback the recordings using the piano without my phone?
Hi, Sylvia! Unfortunately, the recordings are saved on your phone so you have to have the phone to access them.
Hi tks for the video.
I brought a roland GP-6 and i'm trying update the driver(1.02 version to 1.05), i followed all the steps on the site but didn't work.
I downloaded the file, formatted the usb and copy the file to the root directory, connect the usb and press down the power button 3 times, i tried several times but nothing work. Do u know what i'm doing wrong?
Hi there! Possibly. Did you turn the piano off before pressing the power button 3 times? If so, try pressing the power button 3 times a bit more slowly. We had a fit with this the first time we did it, but we eventually figured it out. Hope that helps!
@@RivertonPianoCompany Tks a lot, it works =D 🙏
Glad to hear it! Have fun with that piano!
Why on earth do you not implement an export feature for the recordings? Feels like you have to break out of jail to get your recordings out into the actual (digital) world.
Recording to wav directly would be ideal as well.
Hi, Di! When we asked Roland the same question, they said something about copyright concerns. It's not a great answer, but it might explain why they do that. They have always been VERY cautious about copyright.
How can I export my recording as an mp3 file that I can later edit in another program?
Hello and thanks for watching. First of all, if you want to edit your recording in another program, you should record it as a MIDI file - not an mp3. If your Roland has a writeable USB flash drive port on it, you can record the song to the flash drive in MIDI format, transfer it to your computer and edit it in any MIDI editing software. If you want to record an audio file, you can record a .wav file to your flash drive in the same way (just make sure you go into the settings and change your record mode to AUDIO before you record). Then just follow the same plan - transfer the song to your computer and edit it in whatever software you have. Finally, you can convert a MIDI file to an AUDIO file (.wav format) onboard most Roland pianos. ...so you can go either way. That said, there is no way to export a song from The Roland Piano App so - whatever you do - you will need to do it without the app. Thanks again for watching and best of luck!
Is there a feature to show what note is getting pressed on the keyboard?
Probably not in the way you mean. The app does have a digital flashcards feature that responds to notes you play as part of a note recognition or ear training "video game." Faber Piano Adventures Player has a keyboard visualizer that shows you the notes you're playing in realtime... and several MIDI apps can notate (or write the music for) the notes you're playing. I am not sure what you're trying to accomplish, but there is an app out there that will do it. Hope that helps!
Hello Riverton, i have a Roland piano FP 10 , I use app Roland patner 2 , Rhythm fuction can not use. Can you help me solve the problem ? Thank you
Hello! First of all, you should stop using Piano Partner 2. That app is no longer supported. Use The Roland Piano App (featured in this video). Secondly, are you using an iOS or Android device? If Android, you need to connect your tablet via USB instead of Bluetooth for the rhythm functions to work. Finally, make sure your FP-10 is updated with the latest firmware (currently version 1.04). That should get you up and running!
Thanks you for information
Glad to help! Thank you for stopping by!
I have the FP-10 and I sadly just found out that the app doesn’t support accompaniment mode for it yet and it says it will in a future update. Do you know when this might be(weeks, months, years)? I’ve had other companies do that sort of thing but didn’t continue to update the item cause it’s an older model. Do you think it might be added in? First time owning a keyboard and a Roland especially so I’m a little unfamiliar with the company. If you reply thanks for the help!
Hi, BMJ. I can totally understand your concerns. While you're waiting for Roland to update the app (and I am sure they will do that in the next few months), you might try playing along with MIDI files in Piano Adventures Player or with audio files in Play Along by Sheet Music Direct. That'll give you a better experience anyway and both modes should work with your piano via a USB connection. Hope that helps!
Is there a way that the midi format audio in my usb memory stick once connected to the piano usb port can be seen somewhere in the library or anywhere else in this app? Thanks..
Hi, Rommel! Thanks for a great question! Unfortunately, the app cannot see music in any format on your USB flash drive. You can, however, load MIDI files from your flash drive into your piano's internal memory. One in your piano's internal memory, the app can see your music. I hope that helps!
@@RivertonPianoCompany thank you for your prompt response. Can you give me some steps on how to do this cause I have been trying and still not able to do it. I highly appreciate your response, thank you.
Sure. Just plug your USB flash drive (with the MIDI file or files you want to play) into your piano. Go into the Functions menu and follow the instructions in your manual to Copy a Song from your USB flash drive to your piano's Internal Memory. Once the song is there, you can remove the USB flash drive. The songs in your piano's internal memory will appear in the "Internal Memory" menu in the Roland Piano App's Library module. You should be able to see them then!
Can I know how many tones are added to the preinstalled ones for a fp-10 and and fp-30?
I'm trying to buy a new keyboard and as I don't have a pc right now, I wouldn't have many sounds to choose for now
The FP-10 has 15 sounds without the app. The FP-30 has 35 sounds without the app. When connected to a mobile device (iOS or Android) - and using The Roland Piano App - you have access to more than 130 more sounds.
@@RivertonPianoCompany so the 130 more sounds are default if you connect any keyboard?
(wow you are really fast to answer, that's a really nice thing)
Yep. They are a default set of sounds added to any Roland piano that doesn't already have them. Glad we could help!
@@RivertonPianoCompany THANK YOU SO MUCH❤️❤️
Our pleasure! Thanks for the chat!
I installed this app and it works fine with my iPhone 12 but not so with my iPad. The iPad wont detect my fp30x. Worst of all, now none of my apps detect it….😢
Keep in mind that Bluetooth is a monogamous connection. If you are still connected to your iPhone, your piano won't show up on any other devices. If you are connected on your iPad, it won't show up on your iPhone. Etc. I recommend turning Bluetooth off on your iPhone and trying to connect with your other devices. As for other apps detecting the piano, just make sure you connect with the Roland Piano App first and - once you are connected to the piano with Bluetooth MIDI, the other apps should be able to see the instrument. If you have further troubles, check with the company you bought the piano from. They should have a comprehensive training program like our Roland Owner's Club. Best of luck to you!
@@RivertonPianoCompany thanks , turning off blutooth on the phone did the trick 😎
Glad to help! Have fun!
I think that Roland piano every day is really a wonderful app and permits to expand Fp30x functions in beautiful way. Bettering and personalize the "colour" of acoustic piano sounds ( but factory presets are so beautiful!!) or adding many other new sounds and styles accompaniment. Roland has made a GREAT APP, really!!!👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
But why using Roland FpE50 isn't possible to use Piano every day app?!?🤔🤔
Thank you for the informative video. I recently bought my new fp30x Roland piano and I have a question about the accompaniment module.
Whenever I change a chord the background instrumentation follows along after some noticable amount of time that creates a discord with the piano sound, because two different chords are playing together.
Is there a way to fix that?
Hi, Cr, and thanks for stopping by! As for your accompaniment problem, you can switch to single finger chords in the "Advanced Settings" or just make sure that you are doing your chord changes just before the beat so the piano has time to catch up. You'll want to play your traditional chords in root position so you don't confuse the app... and - if that doesn't fix it - you can remove the background instruments and just play with drums (in advanced settings). Hope that helps!
@@RivertonPianoCompany Thanks for the immediate response. I'll try again tomorrow with the single finger chord. Anyway the app seemed to immediately recognize my chordt but the change probably comes to the next beat. So I'll also try your recommendation about changing the chords just before the down beat.
Sounds great! Hopefully it will help!
How important do you think the app is for a complete beginner? I'm trying to choose a piano to buy and I'm looking at the FP-60X and the FP-E50 both of which use the app and the RD88 and the RD08 both of which don't use the app. Thank you.
Hello and thanks for a great question! I think The Roland Piano App is vital for beginners. I'd definitely get a piano that works with it!
@@RivertonPianoCompany Wonderful, Thank you. I'll choose between the FP-E50 and the FP-60X.
Hope you have fun!
@@RivertonPianoCompany Thank you. I've decided on the FP-E50, it uses the app, ZEN-Core and has many, many more tones and options than the FP-60X, the action is a slight downgrade on the FP=60X but only slight. Thank you for your help.
Great! We hope you have fun with it!
Hello guys! Any news or update on the accompaniement issue? I still couldn't solve the delay when changing chords on the accompaniement... Have you tried it so you better understand what I mean?
Hi, Ricardo! Good to hear from you again! Unfortunately, I don't have any news for you right now. We did confirm this for you and we reported it to Roland. We found that the app struggles with inversions as well. It doesn't sound quite right unless you're just playing plain block chords or single-finger chords (you can change this setting in the Advanced Settings tab). We'll see if they do anything about it, but we definitely reported it for you! Thanks for checking in!
@@RivertonPianoCompany thanks fellows!!! Stay safe!
Right back at ya! All our best!
Hello! Is there a way to record more than 2 tracks in a song? How many sounds/tracks can we add over the first record?
Hi, Ricardo! The Roland Piano App isn't designed for multi-track recording. With HP/LX-GP Series Roland pianos, you can do 3-track recording onboard the pianos. ...but with other lower-end Rolands, there's just a single track record feature. The app just allows you to record your performance. One track only. If you want multi-track options, I'd check out Garage Band, Finale or Sibelius. Best of luck!
@@RivertonPianoCompany thank you so much for your reply. Just another thing if I may ask... I might be buying an Hp 704, can you confirm I can have different accompaniment following my left hand tone chords or is it just a simple drum beat in the background?
Glad to help! If you are using the Roland Piano App with your HP-704, you can have different accompaniment following your left hand chords (or you can set it to follow you across the entire keyboard). You can ALSO have a simple drumbeat in the background if you so chose. All of that is adjustable. Good luck with your new 704! I am sure you'll love it!
Hello, I just bought my Hp 704 and I am very happy with my purchase.
Now I just need help with one issue, because one of the goals was to play with accompaniment like in an ordinary keyboard, but it sounds like there's always a little delay on the tempo/sound when I play a chord in the accompaniment with my left hand, the chord played in my left hand with the accompaniement doesn't come immediately like with my old Roland E-86. Any suggestion?
I hope you understood what I mean... Thanks in advance for any help
Hii. I just wanna ask is it normal for notes not to sustain while recording using the app? Im pressing the sustain pedal while recording but the notes do not sustain
Btw i have the fp30x
Tnxxx
Hi there! We haven't experienced this and none of our clients have reported it... but we don't typically stock the FP-30X. I would recommend first making sure the FP-30X is updated with the latest firmware. Next, I would recommend deleting the app and reinstalling it. If that doesn't work, I would contact Roland or the dealership you bought the FP-30X from and see if they can help further troubleshoot the problem. If we had an FP-30X, we'd test it for you! Best of luck!
@RivertonPianoCompany thanks for the tip! Btw, how can I update the Roland firmware?
Hope it helps! Here's the update info: www.roland.com/global/products/fp-30x/downloads/
How do I transfer my recording files to computer?
Hi, Youngjaelee! Unfortunately, there is no way to do what you're asking. If you record a song onboard the piano and save it to the piano's internal memory, you can export it to a USB flash drive (if your piano has a flash drive port), but if you record something in the app, you can't transfer it out. We've contacted Roland about this and we hope they will change that in a future update.
Can I ask a question about the FP-10 ? I understand that the Roland Piano app doesn't recognize certain models , but you said in this video , that will change soon. Did Roland give you an update ? When will this app work with the FP-10 ? If instead of Bluetooth I buy the usb cable and connect my tablet to the FP-10 like that ....will this app recognize the FP-10 then ? Thank you for any answers
Hi, Eddie! Thanks for your question. The good news is that Roland just updated the Roland Piano App and it is now compatible with the FP-10. Remember that the FP-10 is one of the least expensive Roland pianos to use this app so it won't have all the features shown here, but it should work now!
@@RivertonPianoCompany oh , that's wonderful ! Thanks for thr quick reply! I appreciate it.
My pleasure! Thank you!
@@RivertonPianoCompany Is there a chance you know EXACTLY which features will not be available in the app connected to FP-10? I consider buiying this model and one of major factors on my decission is the recorder function of the app. Does it gonna work with FP-10?
Hi, Michal. Yes. The recording feature does work with the FP-10. Keep in mind that the music you record into the app with the FP-10 will stay in the app. You can't export them. ...but you can record songs with the piano and play them back with the app.
Can I connect this app Roland with my Keyboard Roland Ex 50?
Hi and thanks for watching. Unfortunately, the EX-50 does not have Bluetooth MIDI and, thus, cannot connect to The Roland Piano App. Sorry for the bad news!
Hi 😊 Does this App replace the “Roland Piano Every Day” App ? Coz I can’t find it😢 Thx a lot🥺
Yep! Piano Every Day has been discontinued (We did a video about it as well) and "The Roland Piano App" replaced it. Thanks for stopping by!
Hello, i recently bought a roland go 61k. Is it compatible with the app? I tried it and it always says connection error...
Hello. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like your piano is compatible with the app. Best of luck to you!
Is this app compatible with Roland RP-102?
Not yet. It will be in the future, though. Stay tuned for updates from Roland!
Hi! I record through the app using different sounds like electric piano etc but when i play the recording back it defaults to the grand piano sound. Is this able to be fixed? I have the roland fp 30
Hi and thanks for stopping by! You can record an AUDIO file by connecting your piano to a PC and record the sounds that way. You can't do it through the app, though. Wish I had better news!
@RivertonPianoCompany hi! Thanks for the response! Is there a certain cord and app needed? I know I can't download the roland piano app to my laptop for some reason.
The Roland Piano App is for mobile devices only. If you want to record to your laptop, you can use Garage Band, Sequel 3, Finale Print Music, Sibelius, etc. TONS of options there.
Where is the A.bass+Cymbol tone? It’s there when I first open the app, but if I choose another tone, I can’t find it again 🤷♂️
Hi there. Thanks for watching. That tone is usually at the end of the "Strings" submenu... right after "Jazz Scat." Hope that helps!
Does this app work on Yamaha pianos?
Nope. Yamaha uses an app called Smart Pianist.
Hi, I have a question. I just bought the FP-10 and installed the Roland Piano App. I was expecting many options of different sounds, as you mentioned here replying to other coments, like 130 extra sounds. But it only shows like 20 total sounds, and much of those are already built in. What is going on? Do I need to update the piano?
Hi and thanks for your question. The Roland Piano App ads those extra features to the FP-30 on up. We have never tested it on the FP-10. It is possible the FP-10 doesn't have the necessary hardware to support the additional features.
How do you export recordings from the app (and not directly from the piano), to your phone device or pc?
Export to a usb key isn’t working if the recording is already on the app.
In short? You can't. There is no method for exporting music recorded in The Roland Piano App.
That’s really a pity and exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the answer here though, which saved me time googling further 😂
Thanks, Lars! I wish we had better news!
All I wanted to know is how to use the accompaniment feature. It begins playing from the app just fine, but no matter what note I press, it just continues to play the same thing.
Hrm. We haven't seen that problem before. Which piano are you using? Are you up to date with the latest firmware, etc?
I tried it today with my Roland F701 and my phone and tablet, but the bluetooth connection it's laggy. My recording sounded like a broken piano roll :( I wonder if there are known ways to solve the issue
It shouldn't be "laggy" at all if you're recording a MIDI file. How were you setup?
@@RivertonPianoCompany Hi! Thanks for your reply. I connected the F701 successfully to the Roland Piano App on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A first. Everything was working but the response was slow on everything, all the sliders included. For example, in the accompaiments session, the response of the harmonic base as I changed chord was always late. The recording was a wreck version of what I really played. Thinking it could be the tablet CPU maybe too slow, I did the same attempt with my phone (Xiaomi Redmi note 8T) and it was only slightly better, but still far from usable.
Unfortunately, assuming your devices meet all the specs and both your piano and mobile devices are all updated to the latest firmware, this might be an Android problem. Android and iOS systems process MIDI differently. I assume you're connecting to The Roland Piano App with Bluetooth MIDI... correct? If so, you might consider connecting with a USB cable. This fixes the problem some Android systems have with Bluetooth MIDI.
We haven't seen this problem with our Samsung devices or IPads, but we haven't tried with the F701 and your devices may be configured differently. It's really tough to troubleshoot. Hopefully, the USB cable will fix it for you!
@@RivertonPianoCompany thank you, I will try and let you know, just for the record.
Thank you! I hope it works for you!
Hello! I have tried multiple times to connect my fp-30 to the app, but it just doesn't work. Every time it's almost ready to go something fails and the message "MIDI device connection error" is shown. What should I do?
Hi, Timeea. There are many things that can cause this. First of all, which device are you trying to connect to the piano? Have you tried connecting with USB? Did that work? Next, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Make sure your device has Bluetooth MIDI onboard and is compatible with the app. Hope that helps!
Is there drumbeat?
The Roland Piano App offers a number of rhythm options. You can have just a drum beat or a full backing band.
I recorded using the app but the sustain pedal wasn’t recorded. It’s as if if I didn’t use the pedal at all. Is there an additional setting i need to set? Im using the FP-10 and connecting thru bluetooth.
That's a tricky one. Technically, the FP-10 is not listed as compatible with the app. It may be because of that problem. Have you tried connecting to the tablet via USB? Try that... and - if it is still doing it - it's a compatibility problem.
My app displays Japanese in the Tones and Internal songs sections after connecting to the piano. Does anyone get this issue?
This is not an issue we have had with the app. Try uninstalling and downloading the latest local version.
14:00 It won't appear in the my recordings list. It never saves.
With so little information, it's hard for us to help, but the first thing you should check is that you are connected with Bluetooth MIDI or a USB cable. If so, make sure you are looking in the right place for your recording. There are four different places you might find it depending on what you recorded. Finally, make sure you are following the saving/naming instructions in the video. We haven't seen any problems with disappearing recordings.
Many thanks for the informative and good overview on the new Piano App from Roland! 😁👍🏻
Is there a way to control the volume of the accompaniment separately?
It’s a bit distracting (for me as a beginner) when it has the same volume as my playing… 😅
Thank you, Lars! ...and yes. You can adjust the volume balance in the app. Go to the Accompaniment Module, select "Advanced Settings" and move the Balance slider to the right or left until you achieve the volume balance you're looking for. One side will make the accompaniment louder and the other will make the piano louder. Thanks again for stopping by and for your words of encouragement. Have fun with your Roland!
@@RivertonPianoCompany Perfect, many thanks for the fast response and info! 😁👍🏻
Glad to help! Stop by anytime!
It doesn't find my FP30X even though it is recognized by other app such as Roland Piano Designer, Piano every day, Piano Marvel.
Hello, Aurelio! Thanks for reporting in. I would recommend uninstalling the app and reinstalling it. This fixed the problem for us. Also, they just updated the app today so that might help too. Best of luck to you!
I can't hear my recordings on piano app :(
It catches the midi notes when I record but after saving the file and wanting to listen it's totally silent !
Same problem with accompagnement, can't hear anything...
Could someone explain me why ?
Roland FP90X updated
Android UI updated
Where are you saving your recordings? The app can only record the MIDI notes you play, but it can't record backgrounds and it can't record audio. If you record onboard your piano with the USB flash drive, you can record MIDI or AUDIO and you can record backgrounds. You can also export those recordings. If you are saving MIDI files in the app, but you can't hear them when you play them back, I would recommend checking your piano's song volume settings in the Functions menu (this is a separate setting from the main volume). If that's not it, you should contact the company you purchased the piano from for more in-depth guidance. Hope that helps!
Actually you were almost right, the song volume knob on the piano board was down, that's why I couldn't hear anything ! As simple as that !
Thanks dude 🖖🏻
P.S I'm very disappointed by the accompagnements :(
I wish there were more style beats and more time signatures...
It's really hard to diagnose this stuff sight unseen - especially over web chat. ...but we're glad we were able to help! If you want more accompaniments, you might consider some other apps like PlayScore 2 or Sequel. Best of luck to you!
Useful info
Thank you, KC! We're glad it helps!
it doesn’t let me connect my fp 10 work
Sorry to hear you're having problems. I would recommend making sure you have the latest firmware on your FP-10 and then delete and reinstall The Roland Piano App. That should help.
Imposible to connect to my F701. I`ve tried everything. "We found no pianos" message all the time
Have you tried connecting with Piano Every Day? Try that one and see if it will connect. If so, we know it's a problem with the app (in which case, I would uninstall the app and reinstall it). If not, then there might be a Bluetooth connection problem with your mobile device. Which mobile device are you using? Is your piano firmware up to date? (I think the current version is 1.07).
@@RivertonPianoCompany I finally could connect them after restarting the mobile phone. Thank you
Phew! Glad it was something simple. Thanks for the update and best of luck with the F701!
There is the most important question. By connecting via bluetooth in the application, you can listen to your recording and download it and send it to other people, I can’t. I can listen to the same thing through a flash drive, but I can’t send it. Doesn't open for other people. Programs do not read the file. I think this is one of Roland's biggest problems. If I'm wrong, please help me find no information on this topic. I know about midi cable connections. The only question is why I can not download my record from the application ?????????
Hey there. You've got a few things wrong and a couple of things right. Let's walk through it step-by-step. First, if you record a song in the app, there is no way for you to download or share it. Anything recorded in the app stays in the app. That's our biggest complaint as well and we have spoken to Roland about this several times. Second, if you record a song onto your USB flash drive, you can remove the drive, transfer the song to your computer and edit it or play it with any MIDI file software. We recommend Finale Print Music to edit/play the file... though the VLC Media Player can play MIDI files as well (but not edit them). Sibelius is another MIDI software title. There are several. Finally, you don't need MIDI cables anymore. If you connect your piano to a computer with a simple A to B USB cable (otherwise known as "a printer cable"), you can record MIDI or AUDIO files directly to your computer. Hope that clears things up!
Thanks for the answer. But it does not clarify the situation. Of course, a midi cable is a natural one of the connections. But the claim is that I would like to edit it by downloading it through the Roland App and then editing it without any problems in programs such as Abalton, Adobe Audition did not accept midi to my surprise. I couldn’t even translate the format using the conversion. But I understand that I shouldn’t suffer so much, it’s very inconvenient when Roland has such an application that can record via bluetooth but without the hope of downloading, but only listening. I will try the programs above.
Well, it sounds like you now understand how to record onboard the piano via USB flash drive and then unplug the drive, plug it into a computer and use MIDI software to edit the file. That's the important thing. Unfortunately, you cannot edit your recordings or export them with The Roland Piano App. It's a piano control app - not a professional recording app. Thanks for watching and best of luck to you!
One more thing - you can convert MIDI to .wav audio onboard your Roland Piano (HP, LX, GP Series). That should work in audio editing apps like Audition and Abelton.
Thanks for the advice. I understand that the Roland app is not a professional audio recording software, but it can record and then let you listen to the recording. But why doesn't it give the opportunity to ask me to download a midi file so that I can then work with it in other editors. My question is just this. In other programs, I can translate everything correctly into Wav format, but the file is blocked from the flash drive, as I understand it, by the manufacturer itself, that is, Roland. Therefore, I had problems with converting in other professional programs. I just needed my file. With which I could not work due to the blocking of the file itself. I do not know the reason. I will disassemble according to your tips, although I know them all well. But maybe I missed something I do not deny. I'll post as soon as I check. Thanks for the fedback.
How do you compare this to the roland partner 2?
I am a beginner on roland f140r.
Hello! Thanks for your question. We love Roland Piano Partner 2, but The Roland Piano App does all the same things and more. The user experience is pretty similar, but soon The Roland Piano App will replace Piano Partner 2 and be the definitive Roland control app. I think that will work out just fine!
@@RivertonPianoCompany it does not support f140r.
Not yet. That will change in the future.
@@RivertonPianoCompany i still have not figured out how to transfer a played song to an ipad garageband. Perhaps i have to do it on an imac garage band?
Yeah, you can't export music you recorded in Piano Partner 2 to other apps. You would have to record it in Garage Band (via USB connection most likely). I hope that helps!
i have issue with the bluetooth connection😢 i have rp 107 and the app can’t connect to the piano. i’ve tried to unpair and pair again, and also tried to reinstall the app but still can’t connect😢 anyone has the same problem with me?
The first thing to check is that you don't have another device connected to it. You can only connect one device at a time. Go into your Bluetooth settings on any other devices you have and turn Bluetooth off. Then, go into your primary device and clear out all Bluetooth connections (ie "forget device). Turn Bluetooth off. Turn the piano off. Now try again. Remember that not all mobile devices handle Bluetooth the same way and, thus, some are not compatible. If your device isn't compatible, you can always connect via USB. Hope that helps!
@@RivertonPianoCompany I followed your instructions (clear out all bluetooth connection) and it works! thank you so much ! 😊
Glad to hear it! Bluetooth is still a little clunky, but - if you know the tricks - you can do pretty well with it. Thanks for letting us know how it went and have fun with that piano!
This app work good for Android or IOS?
As with most music apps, it works best on iOS products, but it does also work on Android.
My sustain isint working while recording? Is anyone else experiencing this?
We have not seen this. Which piano do you have and how are you recording your performance?
I have the same problem while using the app to record. Can anyone tell me what to do to fix it? Pls
Which piano do you have and how are you recording your performance?
Everything nice according to the video. But, what is really happening? Roland Piano App is the first app I've ever used (and I've used hundreds) that has problemas to log in. And when the planets are aligned and I got logged in, then the second step is to connect with the piano via bluetooth. That BT connection fails almost every attempt. So only 10% of the times I want to practice with this APP it works. And this is not my isolated opinion. Almost every one using (or trying to) the app has the same issue.
I have a FP10, which is supposed to run with the app
HI, SJ LI. Sorry to hear you are having troubles connecting with the app. I can tell you that I've heard this a few times with folks who own Roland FP-10s. Hopefully, Roland will soon fix this. It might help you to know that the app needs to connect to the internet when you first login... so you need a WIFI connection and a Bluetooth connection to start. I am not sure if that will help... but you might also try uninstalling the app and reinstalling it. (An early version of the Roland Piano App wouldn't connect to the FP-10 at all.). Finally, make sure you are running system version 1.04 or later on your FP-10. If you do all of this and it still doesn't work, I would definitely contact the company you bought your FP-10 from. It may have a problem. In any case, I hope you can work this out soon! Best wishes!
I have a new Go-Keys and a 1 year old iPad Pro. Same Issue
Sorry to hear you're having problems as well! I would contact the company you bought it from and ask them to give you the tech support you deserve! Unfortunately, we don't carry the GO: keyboards, so we can't advise you here.
@@RivertonPianoCompany thank you so much for your reply. I have written Roland. Still a little early to have a response.
I did have time yesterday to try a few things and found that my Go Keys works with my IPad using Playground. I have cable/cord on order to wire in. I’ll give that a shot once the product arrives.
Again, thank you for taking the time to read and answer. 💕💕💕
Just Let you know thiss Not work withé FP-30X
Hi, MeaHeaR. Sorry to hear you're having problems. The app does work with your piano. You might want to contact the place you bought it from and have them help you solve the problem. It is possible! :)
@@RivertonPianoCompany thanks for your suggestion, will do 😃😀😀👩🏿🦱👍🏿
Hope they can help you!
This App is not free. You have to pay inside to see music scores and lessons .
That is not correct. All of the functions we show in this video are available for FREE in the app. You're talking about the *optional* Roland Cloud membership that gives you access to more songs and exercises. You don't have to be a Roland Cloud member (for around $30/yr at the time of this comment) to use the app. The Roland Piano App is completely free.
Is this app compatible with Roland RP-30?
Hi, Vince! Are you asking about the FP-30? If so, it's not yet compatible. It's compatible with the FP-30X now, but - with future updates - they plan to make the FP-30 compatible in the future.
