The thing I really like about this song is that it has a somber melody feel to it. The high pitched guitars in the main hook really set the emotional atmosphere.
100%. Not enough death metal makes use of a good catchy key change - in fact, once you start paying attention to most "brutal" metal, you'll notice they can have entire albums around the same key.

The whole chorus bass key progression is A-F-C-C#, which is what makes it "melodic".

Since Global Flatline, these guys have been on a tear. Just like Cattle Decap, they went from mid-tier to exceptional
I definitely agree that with Aborted, Global Flatline took them to the next level, but I still loved their old stuff, even the stuff Sven doesn't like anymore, but with Cattle it took me until Death Atlas to really see the genius of their new direction. Then I went back and listened to Monolith of Inhumanity and Anthropocene Extinction again and realized how much I had been missing out, even though I had seen them live a couple times (once with Aborted and Origin in 2012), the new sound took a while to click with me.
Just came back from seeing them live. 10/10 much brutal, would death metal again. One of the best performances I have ever seen from a band live.
Dude they're unreal live. Saw em in 17, supposed to see em again in 20 with benighted but covid shut it down. Sven doesn't age and his vocals have been the same for 25 years it's wild. Their energy is unmatched.

Aborted at its best. Well, I have to say I´m not the biggest fan of Retrogore but my HeartBreaking favourite is Terrorvision and Global Flatline but this... this looks absolutely stunning! Hope it will be on new album and that the new album will be in early time. As always Hail Aborted!!!
