I watch Dusty's channel all the time. He takes such great care of his bison's.
That’s great!
The size of some of these animals is amazing. Thank you and Dusty too for all your info. It is so very obvious that you love these animals and love what you are doing for them.
Yes they are! Absolutely!
This is a very interesting video and view into a world most of us would never see. Thank you for sharing. Blessings
Glad you like it!
I’m the 1% then. Can’t remember how I found your channel - likely through homesteading somehow, as that’s all I watch. Just fascinated by bison and a small ranch operation doing it. We’ll never run bison in our Smokies, but love seeing those majestic creatures on screen.
Thank you Lori! We came very close to raising Bison in the Smokey’s about 5 years ago.
Are you talking about the Smokey Mountains by chance?
@@BrokenArrowBisonlove your video. It is very educational. Thank you.
Thanks for taking us to the sale.
Thank for watching!
Noah I watch you and Dusty I gain so much knowledge from the both of you. Enjoy just watching the Bison in general. God bless you both
Darlene Storer from Ohio.💖🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you Darlene!
Hi Noah, great video of the Bison auction. Thanks for sharing your conversation with Dusty. Good to see the two of you helping and supporting each other as Bison herders. Some of the large male Bison must be very difficult and unpredictable to work with. It was great to see how the auctions work and get an idea of the dollars some of the best will go for.
Glad you enjoyed it Ben! Yes it sure is fascinating.
Cool seeing you both
😉😁
I never tire of seeing the beautiful bison. They are such majestic powerful animals. Thank you for all your share about them. God bless you and keep you all safe as you work with them daily.🇨🇦
Me too. Thank you!
As a lifelong auction shopper (antiques) the strangest part, to me, was the applause if an item went high. Tension relief? Condolences to the buyer? Accolades to the seller? Never could figure it out.
I have always felt the same way Tom. It may be all of the above!
Great watching both of you and you sharing. That was so cool!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good evening to Broken Arrow Bison and all others too. Happy Sunday everyone such a blessing to see another day with these bison😄😍 Great and fantastic job Mr.Noah of you working and using your time with these bison. Sharing and showing the love and care that you has for others to see how you do it! Thanks a lot for sharing these videos, great contents i hope it continues on. Hugs and prayers to everyone to stay safe.
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing another view of bison
Thanks for watching!

Thank you!
Thank you for sharing this Auction!
Thanks for watching!
Loved seeing Dusty in your video.
Geez thats a big bull.... friend for Dunbar maybe???
Your channel is the best!!! Not conceited or self promoting!! 💜
Thank you so much!
Noah, thanks so much for this very informative video. Seeing that $20,000 bull was a real treat. He's magnificent. That's also to Dusty for sharing some of his knowledge here on your channel. I follow both channels.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for the video and Dusty too!
Glad you liked it Lynn!
Noah is so wonderful to listen to and watch. He's got a great presence, animated and is very interesting.
I respect that he wears a wedding ring, cuz he's handsome
😳🤭😅
That was interesting information about the history of auctions. Our local university used to have auctions for surplus office or other equipment. Bidders would have to fill out a card with their contact info, the number of the item that they were bidding on and the amount that they wished to bid. Then they would put their card in a locked box with a slot on it. At the end of the auction, the person with the highest bid would be the winner.
Yes those are very common also. They calls those “silent auctions”.
I’ve been around a lot of bison just because of my comings and goings and people I know and places I go. Love these auctions. Get to see so much breeding stock! Exciting times we live in.
That’s great! Absolutely!
That was impressive. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
GREAT video, Noah!! Could see the time, research, and effort you put in this video. Was interesting to see the facilities, auction, and the huge bison. Nice interview with Dusty.
Thank you Lisa!
Great video
Thank you!

@@BrokenArrowBison Noah, it was a 👍video! Really Super photography!!!?😁
Sounds like a great event(besides being in a beautiful locale!). Lots of learning and sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Cool seeing u and dusty together again u think yall would trade animals again the auction looks fun
😁
Great to see you and Dusty hanging out....i was remembering the video when Noah drove a whole lot to bring Dusty a very special present....
Glad you enjoyed it!
Interesting thanks for sharing
Absolutely!
A great video Noah. and I am subscribed to Dusty
Thanks Rodney!
Noah I really enjoyed this video. I use to go to cattle auctions with my great aunt as a kid. Use to love to go and watch. You bring back memories for me. There always use to be mean cows or bulls. That one bison right before you met up with Dusty near the end. He was one feisty, mean bison. I would hate to see him in with yours or Dusty's herd. You are out and about with your bison. Dusty is in size by side amongst them. That one could be dangerous for you. Was nice to see Dusty there. Liked when you all went togther. Good video and thanks for it Noah. Take care.
Glad you enjoyed it Diana!
Woo! Trains!
😁🚂
Wonderful. Like the way you shared behind the scenes. Hugs
I’m glad!
I just did some digging on bison from Ted Turner. I was able to pull up the last auction and within 4 minutes a bison was sold for over 15,000. FOUR MINUTES!
LOL Ted Turner has some VERY sought after Bison. Some of them actually came out of Yellowstone and it is VERY hard to get your hands on those. Yes, it is crazy to watch some of these auctions.
Cool to see you two.
😁👍🏻
Thanks for sharing 👍
LOL, I see this one over with Dusty. Good post
Wow it’s like one of them dog shows best in class what not, but for bison. I bet for you it’s like going to Disney land. Tough week last week nice to see your out having a good time👍
Yeah I felt like a kid in a candy shop!
This is so cool!
So glad you enjoyed it!
Love your channel and I am surprisingly now very fond of bison, They are glorious things!
I guess that I love that they are wild and no longer threatened with extinction.
I see a parallel with South African friends who converted a large, failing cattle "ranch" where the cattle would succumb to things like leopards and tsetse fly, to a game farm to raise various wild animals for sale, specialising in raising rhinos for sale to National Parks where poaching was decimating the populations.
Seeing you walking in a field next to a group of watchful "farmed" wild bison reminded me of approaching a water hole on foot to have a look at a new rhino calf after being warned to be very cautious quiet, careful, respectful of the grumpy, protective rhino mother who weighed 2,000 kg and was very fast, good hearing but poor eyesight so don't run, just be brave and stand still! Yeah right! Thankfully, after a display from hearing or smelling us, they chose to flee.
A question, are bison territorial and content to stay where there is good food, water etc or do they prefer to roam, be nomadic and want to go, migrate with the seasons?
Is it practical to have a bison herd on a larger open "conservation lifestyle, limited hunting" ranch range next to a National Park where elk and other wild animals roam?
Cheers!
Congraulation 😄😄
😁
Pretty cool info! Thanks😊
Beautiful animals. Just love them
Me too!
Noah, that was amazing thanks so much for sharing. I wondered if Dusty would be there. 20,000.00 for 1 bull he was a good looking bull. God bless.
Thank you Donna! Yes he was!
Beekeeping is very much like that with sharing there knowledge with each other. Beekeeping, 🐝 bison 🦬 and agriculture is so important to are way of living. People need to better understand agriculture.
Thanks for sharing 👍
That’s great Justin! We are hoping to start raising bees soon also.
The generally accepted first auction occurred in Babylon in 500 B.C.E. according to ancient Greek scribes. During this period, auctions were held annually, and women were sold on the condition of marriage.
Fascinating history.
Size of those heads is something else
They are big!
Thank you for sharing this. Yes started first with watching Cross Timbers Bison!
You are very welcome!
The auction has a good setup
for the ringmen. I attended a Brahma cattle sale and they had a bull that almost went over the ring railing. It was almost half over the rail before it fell over backward. They hurriedly let it out to the back where it was jumping the gates like they were not there. The auctioneer said yeah we were afraid that might happen. It didn't bring much of a price they couldn't have paid me to take it home with me.
They sure can get crazy!
Looked like an amazing auction. I know that at the same time they were acutioning highland cattle. Here in Harrisburg PA the bison are auction occurs in March and they do the alpaca the same weekend. Boy some of those fetched great prices. I remember attending rodeos at the Denver stock yards as a kid.
It was a great auction. Those sound like great memories!
Never have eaten bison is the meat quality ...price different with between them. Get one big boy and a few big girls 😎😁
a very modern bull auction area is comfortable
Personally If I have my own nature preserve in the eastern united states, Bison will be one of the first animals in the preserve!
You won’t regret it.
@@BrokenArrowBison Hell yeah!🦬

I love how bull 2528 works all the sides like he’s a runway model or a show dog. “Wanna see a side view? Here ya go, wanna see my butt? This view is for you!” Lol. I love seeing these big beautiful animals!
🤣
Kind of cool to see what learn about
😁👍🏻
Yes, we watch Dusty with Cross Timbers. Love him and his family! We also watch his brother in law Daniel Arms. We just ran on to your video and thought we would watch. I think we have watched some of yours before. From OKC. Blessings.
Thank you Carolyn! Glad you’re here!

Thanks Laurie! That’s so great about your grandson! Maybe he will be the next bison rancher! 😁👍🏻👍🏻🦬
Good looking Bison there, when I was younger I worked at a cow auction.
How was that? Sounds like fun to me!
@@BrokenArrowBison It was fun but a bit dangerous also I all most got gored by a cow but thank God I was little an could climb up in the rafters fast lol.
The benefits of being young. LOL
Great informative video, thanks for sharing your amazing love for these majestic animals. 👍👍🦬🦬
Thank you watching!
oh give me home where buffaloes roam in a farm where buffaloes play
Another great video Noah🖖👍👍
Thank you!!
Some of the male bison are nice-looking. Nice to Dusty there. Stay safe & take care of you all. Thanks for sharing eh:))
Yes they are beatify animals. Thanks cypress.
Your welcome@@BrokenArrowBison
I hope some of the best get to go to Yellowstone to keep those heard fresh
The Yellowstone heard is a closed . I do not believe they have had any other Buffalo introduced into that hard since the beginning.
@@BrokenArrowBison can that be good for heard genetics?
If there are not “bad” traits in the gene pool than it is ok. A closed herd can spell trouble when there are issues that you don’t want in there because what a closed herd tends to do is magnify everything, good and bad. The Yellowstone animals do have some “bad” traits but as far as confirmation goes, then nice animals.
Thank you for sharing this auction👍. Impressive beasts! I always wondered how people understand what the auctioneers say in terms of numbers and how can they speak so fast, in any auction, any country, any language..
Glad you liked it! Yes they have some talent.
@@BrokenArrowBison quite, I suppose they need practice before doing that job😁
Interesting video, Noah.
Thanks Bill.
Been running buff with my folks since I hit the ground myself. We always prefer an animal that grows big naturally off the land, those trophy animals are fed up like crazy from day 1. Interesting videos though!
That’s great! Where are you located? Yes there’s a lot of backstory into some of those trophy animals. Some are hybrids and some like you said are fed heavily.
You two could be brothers.
🤣 When my daughter met dusty she whispered in my ear “dad, he looks like you”.
@@BrokenArrowBison Oh that's too sweet. Good luck in the coming year!!
Thank you Cheryl!
👍
😁👍🏻
That's a quarter of a mile from where I grew up. My mom still lives there and spent many a day at the pens during the stock show. Never realized the NBA was out of Westminster. Honestly was strongly considering flying home to "see mom" and figure out how to come take a look.
That’s great! Wish I had a view of the mountains here!
@@BrokenArrowBison I miss the mountains, my family and the sun but do NOT miss the traffic. A major hail storm went through 10 yrs ago now and destroyed all the trees in those little neighborhoods near the western stock show complex and it's so BLAH... But I remember walking across the tressle to go down there. Those mountains are why my mom won't come Iowa!!! Sheesh
Wow that’s crazy.
I can barely understand the auctioneer. Did that bull go for 49,000.00?
25,000
21,500
Noah was dusty filming for his channel? What is the story behind your bison "307" hoodie?
I don’t think so. The hoodie is from Wyoming. 307 is an area code there.
Does it concern anyone at the NBA that breeding for animals to get to market weight faster will eventually produce animals with a shorter lifespan, as has been the case with turkeys, and other domestic livestock?
No not at this stage. Bison used to be alot larger in history so breeding for size is actually a good thing at this stage. The lifespan of larger Bison is very long.
@@BrokenArrowBison Are they trying to breed back Bison Antiquus?
It is believed that (if there is an ancestral relationship between Bison Bison and Bison Antiquus) that bison diminished in size thousands of years before European contact. Even in the Old Settler's day, however, people were killing wild bison that were believed by the Zoological Society to be over 50 years old. Compared to the 25 year lifespan of wild bison today, it's a bit jarring to think that in only 200 years the bison's lifespan has decreased to half.
No not Bison antiquus. Bison only 150 years ago used to be larger. The few bison that remained that our bison are descendants of today are believed to have come from some of the smaller ones. Bison today actually live to be around 40 years old. Harsh environments in the wild can result in 25 years but most of the time they have a long lifespan now.
❤❤❤
😁
I prefer the traditional term Buffalo for these animals.
I want a small one! But I live in Chicago, so I'd have to put a collar on it and then when I'd take it for a walk everyone would be asking what breed of dog I have.
You’d be the talk of the town! LOL 😂
Would the frame of the animal be dependent on how harsh the weather elements are. Obviously the further North you go the colder the temperatures are. I would think with taller and wider frames that there would be more meat and fat to help keep them warm?
Yes that is absolutely right. All animals that are farther north seem to be a little bit bigger. Deer, buffalo and cattle.
Реликтовое животное очень впечатляет и навеивает , дух строй Америки и индейские мотивы жизни !!!
Did you shot Plains Bison yearling/bulls in the video or hybrid too. P.s. Was the highest priced bison bull a hybrid?
Great Video btw ☀️
There was a mix of both in the video, yes. I’m not sure on the hottest priced one. I believe he has woods in him but you shouldn’t quote me on that.
What was the cheapest & highest price bulls & females
Can’t tell you all the results off hand but if you become a member of the NBA they post all the results.
What auction house is this
Show and Sale take place at the newly renovated National Western Stock Show complex in Denver.
@@stevensaxon8888 thank you
Noah, were those bison somehow groomed? They seem so much neater than the ones in the fields.
No. LOL I would hate to see someone try and groom one. Typically in the winter in colder climates they will be alot cleaner due to the lack of mud from the thaw.
@@BrokenArrowBison I know, I can't imagine grooming one of them. Makes sense, no mud from the cold parts. I certainly don't have any here!
😁
I thought that, too. They looked groomed. 🙂
The only issue I see with an auction is that I want the friendliest animals possible and I doubt you can tell that at an auction. I would have to contact each farmer and buy directly because I want friendly animals. I don't care what they look like or how big they are.
You can have a 100k bull. If you are breeding to a 1k cow. The offspring isn't going to be top. When I raised fighting chickens. I figured the hen was 80% of what the offspring would become. The traits of then hen were most important. She might throw one calf. But she does that year after year. Met a guy that spent a fortune on his stud horse. But had grade horses. He never worked out of grade horses. He told me he wished he had spent more attention to his mare's attributes. And bought less of a stud.Because the foals took more of the mare's genetics.
Auction of people too.
$15000 im actually suprised they dont go for more such magnificent animals
I agree James.
We really need to inttroduce Buffulo riding into the PBR.... really separate the men from well......
🤣
That is the largest sell barn i've every seen. If I were looking for live stock (cattle). I'm want calm gentle animals.
Yes the facility was absolutely massive!
i'd bring yall bison bulls from northern alberta, woods bison & Plains
Those are majestic animals!
How did I find this 👀👀👀💯💯💯
Glad to have you!
Very interesting to see but I would have enjoyed HEARING and SEEING at least 1 or 2 complete auctions of an animal. What was shown was too fast so we couldn't really see it.
Thanks for the feedback Mary.
Sorry I just found this. Maybe next year
😁👍🏻👍🏻
