    Jared Goff took the Rams to the playoffs for the first time in 12 years in his 2nd year with the Rams and then took them to the Super Bowl the next year. Jared Goff won the NFC North for the first time in 31 years and took them to the NFCC for the first time in 33 years in his 3rd year with the Lions. Why in the world would they play around and not pay him? By the way, if Kirk Cousins took the Vikings to the NFCC, he'd still be a Viking, and if Dak had taken the Cowboys to the NFCC, he already would have a new contract that would make him the highest paid quarterback in the NFL.
    Lastly, could Mike stop saying the Rams gave the Lions a 1st round pick to take Goff? He has literally no proof that happened and just made it up out of whole cloth, and the Lions have NEVER treated Goff like he was a throw-in.

    DAK PRESCOTT IS NOT THE GUY. They didn't make a mistake in waiting on paying Dak in his first deal. The mistake they made was actually paying him to stay. He wasn't the guy then, and he isn't the guy now. There has never been a player that the media wanted paid Mahomes money, more than Dak Prescott, for doing absolutely nothing that matters in this league.

    • @brianrobinson116
      @brianrobinson116 17 дней назад +1

      Here’s the question - If Dak is gone, would his replacement be as good? If you are not certain they would be, you keep Dak. Because Dallas had been fortunate. Romo took over in 2007. He was a former undrafted free agent who they got lucky with, followed by a fourth round pick who they got lucky with when the former FA got hurt. So for 17 seasons, the Cowboys have not had to worry about the most important position in football. There is value in knowing what you have. If Dak is gone, then what?

    • @PGO_Gaming
      @PGO_Gaming 17 дней назад

      @@brianrobinson116 Stop worrying about the "then what". Once you've made the decision to move on from Dak, then you know what you have to do. Elevate Trey Lance, AND draft a QB next year. They got Dak in the 4th round in 2016. They could have drafted a QB in any one of these 8 years. There are QBs in this league still playing, that were drafted from the 4th round all the way to the last pick in the draft. The Cowboys went 5-1 with Cooper Rush at QB. Let Dak go.

      @scottrowlandrowland1098 11 дней назад

      @@dustingodin5323 you don't understand how his contracts works what so ever so just walk away. It's a 10 year contract which is unbelievablely team friendly most athletes want 3 to 4 so they can redo the deal faster after the cap and contracts have went up. It's also a backloaded contracts so the first year of that contract he made 20 mil then averaged around 30 to 40 mil the next 4 years. Not sure where you're getting this 22 percent idea but no player has ever been paid in correlation to a set percentage of the cap. His contract because of length also allows them to restructure to free up cap space every year. His cap hit has averaged about 6th or 7th highest the last few year. 2026 his cap hit will be close to 60 or 65 mil in which case they will extend him which will spread that cap hit even farther down the road. It's one of the more complicated and team friendly deals in sports history. About 3 weeks ago albert breer on this very show was asked who had the best bang for buc contract in the nfl was and his answer was mahomes's contract. I really didn't even go that far into detail on this either so educate yourself fool.

    They were ALWAYS willing to pay Dak the franchise QB reset AAV/guarantee back in 2018…Dak wanted a much shorter deal than QBs typically sign so he could negotiate a third contract within 3-4 years to maximize earning power. Which is what we’re seeing here…the dude basically just signed and is already up again. The Cowboys refused and decided to take the extra years they wanted prior to giving him a deal….so he played through years 4 and 5…then got the shorter (4 years/ 3 guaranteed) that he always wanted. He got his deal…the Cowboys got 5 years of play prior to this point rather than the 3-4 Dak wanted. So here we are. It was NEVER the Cowboys not signing Dak…it was Dak not taking the deal.
