I have just found a Remington 783 in .243 at my local Pawn shop. It was hard to find a review on this gun that wasn't several years old. That's how I found your channel. This review is only 5 months old! After hearing your review, I'm gonna go down and get that rifle. It's in like new condition at a good price. Thanks for the info.

Hopefully Rem Arms will continue the traditions of the past Remingtons. In 2015 I bought a Remington 783 in 308 Win . from the clearance rack at a local Walmart for 250.00 . I was presently surprised how accurate the rifle is. I have not harvested a Whitetail Deer with it I just like going to the range and punch paper. Waiting for part 2 .

I was very presently surprised my self. I am working on editing part 2. I got a little more shooting in on a rainy day trying 3 more loads. I hope to borrow or acquire atleast an ADL rifle to check out as well.

I have been a Remington fan most of my life. I have 4 centerfire rifles but I think that to stay competitive in the market they need to make a few changes. I'd like to see them at the top of the market again! Thanks for watching and commenting. God bless

Shoo I'd like too!!! I'm working to meet people with guns I can't afford just yet but stay tuned. I'll keep trying to get a hold of one.

Im on the fence right now.. buying my first long range bolt action rifle this week (more for the purpose of learning long range precision shooting as opposed to hunting) and currently my 3 top options right now are:
Savage 110 Engage Hunter XP 22" barrel with scope combo - in .308
Remington 783 Tactical 24" Heavy Barrel Threaded - in .308
Ruger American Standard 22" barrel in .308
All 3 of these rifles are roughly in the same price range - which one would you suggest?
Personally, I am strongly leaning towards getting the Remington 783 HBT in .308
Some people have also told me that they feel the Savage 110 platform is just a superior platform while all of the others like the Remington and Ruger are all pretty much based off of the Savage Axis platform of rifles.
Yours and anyone else's personal advice would be most welcomed.

Are they done? Done with what? Done with stomping a mudhole into what used to be the American Standard in Quality, affordable firearms? Maybe. Lets see, they still have that ridiculous small Bolt Handle at a 90 degree lift that STILL gets in the way of your more beefy scopes and people have been complaining about this for years. The have now raised the price of what should have been a great hunting rifle and are expecting people to pay as much for a Remington 700 (The Alpha 1 Hunter) as they would for a better quality rifle. 1500-1800$ for a Model 700 with no serious upgrades or improved features? It makes me sick. I was raised on Remington by my grandfather and my first gun was a 700 in .243, killed my very first deer with it. My first shotgun was a 870 Wingmaster and an 1100 2 and 3/4 in 12 gauge. Ive killed my first squirrels, rabbits, ducks and deer with Remington's...and now to see Savage, Ruger and CVA put Remington to shame in value and quality at a reasonable price? Nah, im done with Remington. Makes me so mad too.
The CVA Cascade AND the Savage 110 are shooting .25 MOA groups out of the freaking box. Watch WHoTeeWho's channel. The dude does it with all 3 rifles, the CVA, Savage and the Ruger Gen 2 and those rifles are 600$.....600!!!!!!!!!!!! While Remington, doesnt improve a darn thing and thinks they can charge 1500-1800 for a Alpha 1 Hunter. LOL!
Sorry to rant on your channel. Good video, im just so mad at Remington and where its headed.

You are good bud! I really hope that they improve myself. I have spoken with a representative to voice my opinions and hope that this video will make it to them. I can think of about 4 obvious things that need to be updated that would help there brand if they would listen.

I guarantee you that the 783 is more accurate than more expensive rifles. These rifles are tack drivers.

With the right load I think that they are capable but I also think that there are few minor updates that they could improve on the rifle. I like my 783 better than my 700 ADL. Thank you for watching and commenting! God bless

Absolutely. They are more accurate than the 700. It is basically a Marlin but they did improve on the Marlin design, at least in my opinion. I have several Savage rifles and they are well known for accuracy but my 783 is more accurate. I will say though that the scope included with the "package" gun is complete junk. Buy it without a scope if possible and if not, get a decent scope and you will love your 783.
