    I see very little need for the 400L. However, just like the 350L, ammo was scarce at first, but it's gotten so popular now that there are many companies loading for it. I just don't see the 400 making waves when the 350L and the 450BM that's offered in either bolt or AR platform can do what's needed and the 360 gets the lever gun out in the straight walled only woods if one wants more than a pistol caliber.

    take the 2 mounting screw off that hold your trigger on. Submerge the assembly in 91% alcohol overnight and it will dissolve the epoxy on the main adjustment screw that lines up with the hole in the trigger guard. Remove that blinded off screw which is now a stud thanks to savage and replace it with a crew that has a head and you're in business. the screw which has the screw driver slot in it can adjust the trigger pull weight but the blinded screw is the one meant to by ATA. If you adjust the one with the screw head to far the rifle will fire with the safety on. if you ignore this and adjust that one anyway don't go past 2 full turns and your safety will still work. ALL the newer ones have a blinded adjustment screw not just epoxy

    You need a torque tool that important for accuracy start out at 50 inch pounds and work you way up at five inch pounds. Then check and see it it hold steady. You may need to add some thread lock to the action screws. When you tighten the action screws hole the rifle pointing up a couple of light bumps then tighten the action screws that help to keep the recoil lug in the right place. Adjust that trigger as light you can get it. You can adjust your grip don't rap it around but put your thumb at rest raping around your steering the rifle. Two touching then a flier sounds like a bedding problem. If the bottom end is plastic the part the action screws go through that is not good. Magpul is plastic but where the action screws go through is metal bushing. That for the 700 savage I am not sure.

    You're comparing it to rounds that don't have the capability of being fired from an AR15 with a double stacked magazine, that in theory could have a capacity of 20-30rds if someone made mags. The .400 is significantly more powerful that .350 Leg and unlike .450 Bush, .458 Socom or .50Beo which are only single stack in an AR15 it can go double. The Turkey's Opinion ran a hand loaded 165gr maximus solid from a 16" barrel and got 2783f/s 2837ft/lbs compared to a .308 24" 168gr BTHP running 2650f/s 2619ft/lbs. Perhaps the .400Leg is not being marketed correctly. I see it as being 10mm Ultra Magnum and the meanest high capacity AR15 footprint round for 300yrds or less. It's a real shame that the rifles and the magazines and the rounds have not materialized.

      Yes, it's a shame that progress seems to have stalled and nothing is hitting the market. You're right that if they don't get people into this round quick that it could fade away. That is the best story I've heard in 40 years. Thank you for sharing that with us. I love to see people with integrity that always puts God first, but also from a worldly perspective that savage 99 indeed was a very fine gift and i hope you enjoy it all of your days on earth.

      @@timhalloran7910 it certainly is a great gift! Not one I feel that I deserved but that goes for both gifts. I can't say that I am great at hunting or shooting but have certainly been blessed to take a lot of game. But my savior is the real reason for this channel. Thanks for watching and commenting. The 7mm-08 is a great cartridge by the way. I believe it's the flexible stock that's causing all the accuracy problems.

  • @Aussie038
    @Aussie038 Месяц назад

    The problem is the bench rest is too far forward. Because the stock is too flexible, this style of shooting causes the for-end to touch the barrel. Hence your poor groups.

      @@Aussie038 yeah looking back at the video you are right. I love the 7mm-08 caliber. I need to do some more work with this gun or maybe trade it in on the light model to try on the channel. Thanks for watching and commenting. God bless!

    Yea your data is flawed or "claimed". Its real close between these. But like most all data diameter is never a inclusion. But absolutely makes a difference!! Remember none start out @ .400.

    I have had one on order all summer... I could have bought a Savage or a Mossberg. But I want a Ruger Predator or Std. I have ammo molds and dies in hand. If I dont see it next month Ill buy the Savage.

      😆 your the only one I know with bullet molds! I'd really like to get one but man the lack of ammo gets me. I really thought about that savage 110 trail hunter light in the 400 legend.

    Another favorite!! I mostly use my own cast 330hp. But in my AR I shoot the 300 FTX MUZZLE LOADER BULLET @ 1950 fps.

      I haven't seen those. I was skeptical of that cartridge as my nephew and a couple of other guys gave bad reports of it. But testing those bullets really made me a believer in copper and bonded bullets for that gun.
