I don't know why they bother making these handhelds, steam deck is perfect already, they really should give up, we don't need competition in this space
The shoulder button feature is for FPS games where some competitive gamers like the hair trigger functionality as opposed to having to press the full travel of the analog RT and LT to do an action.
@ Man I would love to have an 1080p oled screen on the ally x. That would make it the perfect handheld. I just need a company to combine the ally x and the zotac zone and that will be the best handheld.
How is it now with software? I ordered ally x but kinda want this one cause of the design and screen. battery you can just buy a portable charger, performance I won't use on the high end. only concern for me is, is the company good enough? will I have issues with this device at some point compared to an allyx which was already refined again? great video!
I had the ASUS ROG Ally for like 3 months, and while i liked the large battery life, speed and all, I got tired of it. But this one, I fell in Love with it the moment I turned it on. The display and slightly better performance than the Ally X is everything for me. The other issues I can deal with since it’s just a new released. Future software update will fix the issues.
How does it feel in the hand compared to ally? it says more rounded grips online. I used g cloud before and the ergonomics were so good - slap a case on and it was perfect but obviously more light. I want something similar to that
Are the trackpads as good as Steam Deck? Do they control FPS games great like the Steam Deck? Tons of customizable controls off of them to with menu systems and everything? They seem a little low, like I'd have problems using them when I much prefer them over the joysticks for most games.
Like that 2 x back buttons are starting to become standard. Hopefully Steam Deck/Xbox elite controls will become the standard with the 4 x back buttons and 2 x track pads. Hopefully an additional 4 x number nubs/keys top of control pads to act like the number keys of KBs will also become a thing. Xinput or d input software needs to be updated so as to make it easier to have ALL PC games to have full controller support going forward IF Handheld gaming PCs are going to be a major way many people play PC games.
Hey I have two questions: how does the gaming performance of the Zotac console compare to that of Asus, for example, and how loud is the Zotac compared to the noise of other consoles? There are not many reviews of this console, but most of them say that it is much louder than the Rog Ally or Lenovo console. Thanks

I have the impression that Zotac was a bit late with the release of this console, and there are few reviews of it, and the few that I managed to find often mention two major flaws: a problem with the software and the fact that the console is noisier under load than, for example, Rog Ally. Considering that performance is the same as Rog Ally or Lenovo, which are currently much cheaper, and that new consoles are about to be released, I have the impression that Zotac is a bit late to this party.
Windows is hard to use but generates easily the best result (only if you know how to use it) people who won’t know how to use it & either can’t or won’t overcome the learning curve turn to a steam deck in order to be spoon fed their content, in a way similar to console gaming, where all the work is done for you. The ceiling is much lower, but you don’t have to work for it. In short nothing with windows installed on it could ever “kill” a steam deck. Stop with click baiting this headline. lool. Ppl who own a deck are running away from windows, period. It doesn’t matter what the device is capable of. b/c it runs windows, they are tapped out. End of story. Oh well. Too bad for them. Im mind of sick of people writing an entire device off just for using windows. Yes, SteamOS is better but you can easily just change the OS yourself to something like bazzite. Most people are used to windows so it makes sense to use, and if they really want to change it they can.
DOA, its not good in any one thing and sacrificed everything to be mediocre. Unless its cheaper than the deck oled, why buy this, company had no support to be seen or trusted. Looks like a half baked device.

All this needed was 24gb of ram and an 80whr Battery and I would have said screw the ally x. Ugh this is frustrating.
Oh my God! You read my mind out loud 😂. Honestly, I’m thinking of still keeping it because of the display. The Ally X doesn’t come close.

I don't really trust zotac as a brand. But if it's priced 700$ I'd buy the crap out of it.

People can install bazzite if they want to. Better off having windows by default which most are used to.
I really like bazzite however i had to go back to windows on my ally X for some reason bazzite was draining my battery a lot faster
So they can play 50% of their library instead of 100? I think not lol

@mystertom100 Haven't had a single issue playing any of my +700 games, except the ones with anticheat issues specifically implemented by the devs.
After Zotac 2 will come after 4 months it will not make it deck killer and I feel the oled used was samsung not boe
