Please keep these videos coming! Had it not been for that rogue airliner rushing to take off during your approach on short final, you would've maintained center line.
@@alexkapinga2024 as far as I remember from my IFR training, radial is always a radial, and you can follow the radial either inbound or outbound. "Course" is not applicable to VOR navigation. I might be wrong though, I've never actually navigated with the ground stations, all my flights are GPS now.
thanks for that it was really useful. especially how the g1000 will transition from heading mode to approach mode when it can, I have been getting into all kinds of bother switching between them.
Useful but would be better if you had set up scenarios beforehand rather than literally doing it on the fly, ILS 28R good case in point. Any chance of rerecording this?
What settings fix the menu that comes up when I click on the buttons? When I engage a knob on the G1000 a white menus pops up basically obscuring the entire area.
Dude simplified it all for me lol just started ground school thanks

You explain things so well! Thank you for these video series. It's helping me transition from steam gauges to EFIS in my muti-engine IR training.
Glad to help!
was really struggling to understand setting up ils approachs esepacily how to setup and capture glide slopes. this video was a HUGE help.

great video idea. You will do well with this one over time.
I hope so!
On 08:00 you're saying you're flying to the station on 127 radial, I think that's more correct to say you're flying on 307 radial inbound.
I've heared someone say "Radial" (for towards the beacon) and "course" (flying outwards from the beacon)

Great Vid. Please slow down a bit for those of us who haven't done this before. Thx
You can actually slow down the playback speed on RUclips. Just click on the gear icon in the upper right of the video.
@@trent_dyrsmid yes I know, but it doesn’t do anything for your voice. Makes you sound like Luther Vandross if you go too far! 😜

How do you get the in game Jeppesen chart?
I don’t recall. It was either from my Navigraph subscription or it was already included.
Thank you for the video. I am closing in on IR check ride and this helped clear up some of my struggles with the g1000.
Glad it helped!
Does the Auto pilot fly the step down fixes or do you have to tell it to drop each fix?
If you use VNV, the auto pilot will fly the step down fixes. I forgot to include that in this video, and will record it in a separate video soon.

Without seeing exactly what you’re talking about, I’m not sure.
there's an option in the settings "disable tooltips"... maybe that helps
Sry no it didn’t.

Great video. What plane were you flying in x-plane?
I don’t use X-plane. I was using Microsoft flight simulator and flying a 172
I have that also. I just built a G1000 and am using x-plane. I’ll check out MSN’s. Thanks for the reply.

oh, I was all sad when I realised my msfs didnt have the charts, is that the navigraph add-on?
No. Those charts are natively part of MSFS.
@@trent_dyrsmid hmmm, wonder where im going wrong, I have the 40th aniversary steam edition, in all the g1000 planes, the charts button is greyed out.
IDK, sorry!

You jumped around way too much. Didn’t plan a realistic ground track to demonstrate the system.
