You two are the best virtual tour guides. Gave enough information to plan a holiday yet not so much that there was nothing left to discover. Cheers! (Beautiful drone shots too!)
You almost made me cry!😓💜 Talking about Dillon, I watch your vlogs over and over (my kind of crazy). Dillon always looked so happy and looked like he was having so much fun! And he was loved!
Another super video. You should become the UK’s travel ambassadors-such an amazing blend of video, history and humor. I live in the US and look forward to your weekly videos. Can’t wait til next week. Thank you.
I have finally caught up on your videos and today actually watched this video when it was released. I have absolutely enjoyed watching all of your vlogs, in order. Cried when you talked about Dillon and smiled so when you introduced Otis. The two of you are so lovely, oh and yes Peak Forest being your number one favorite was no surprise whatsoever. Loved it! Looking forward to seeing what y'all get up to next.
Oh we have been waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting, heard 730 "You can't say that" and still haven't seen those kool kilts! So soon you may need to soon out a bit and show off that Scottish tan. Great set of "sofa set" series that have have added "setting out into the dawn in a narrowboat" to my bucket list. Cheers and take care, keep healthy and be the best ambassadors/ ministers of canal tourism the UK has to offer.
Thank you for such helpful advice for those of us who cannot live full time on a narrowboat for whatever practical reason, it want to make the best of precious holiday time with a rental boat. My personal preference is pastoral with smallish towns and the hubby would like some city excitement, since we live in the country. Your idea to do the five best of each kind is brilliant! I’m sure the two vlogs together will give us ideas of possibilities … 🙏🏻
In a video like this it's lovely to see flashbacks of some of the wonderful places you've been to. Terrific memories and of course poor Dillon, a great loss
Colin . . . YOU CAN'T SAY THAT ! Oh . . . this is truly among your very best work, I SUPER ENJOYED this format and so look forward to more. As a post script, you asked to share a special place I may have visited. Now . . . I know everyone's heard about the Llangollen Canal and the famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct but . . . I've yet to see anyone comment to the wonderful Chirk Castle ! We pounded our pins in just below the Chirk Tunnel and walked through cow pastures (Federally protected footpath ) uphill to the castle. I think it was about 12 pound to tour and I describe it as the Downton Abbey of Wales. You will find Rembrandt's and Monet's hanging on the walls, 600 year old books in the Library, and a very old harpsichord and a few piano's. You also can enjoy a sumptuous high tea in the shop there. This IS WELL WORTH THE LOOK. Thanks so very much for this one Colin and Shaun, it really made my week end. Ta Ra from Avondale, Arizona.
You two make me so homesick. I was sent to England for a two year assignment. I loved it so much I stayed for nine years. Right before I left in August of 1988 three friends and myself hired a narrowboat and did the Shropshire loop. Best holiday I ever had. Currently considering running away from home and moving back and living on a narrowboat.
We always mention to friends when hiring, that the initial sticker shock needs to be diluted by the fact that it includes your accommodation, transport, entertainment, physical activity and just a hell of a lot of fun. Food is food wherever you are. You can’t beat the experience of the English canals. You cannot beat the beauty of the English countryside or marvel at the fact that you are experiencing a system built over 200 years ago which is still functioning as it did back then. Let’s not even get into the history as that is a treasure trove on its own. Thanks for a great vlog guys.
I just moved to Northwich and I cannot wait to get on the weaver in my kayak and see the boaters about in season. Makes me so happy to hear I've made a good choice relocating here!
Great video, the Peak forest canal is one of the most scenic and beautiful waterways in the UK. If anyone is planning on visiting, highly recommend Brightowl holiday hire . Brightowl is a beautiful 63 ft narrowboat, moored in Hyde, just gorgeous xx
Beautiful recap of some of the places you've been. Lots of laughs, a little crying, and a great video. Thank you for letting us get off (on the right foot for hire boats). Much love.
Knew Peak Forest was going to make the top for any list of yours, but I like that you are splitting your lists up between country and city. I'm a country person, and I fell in love with your Peak Forest vlogs. It's on my wish list if I ever get to England.
Great vlog. My wife, however saw the look of excitement 😍 on my face and has resigned herself to endless narrow boat holidays!🤣 Oh, the agony choice!🤔 Thanks xxx
you guys never fail to make me smile! your humor is tops! "you can't say that!!!!!" I roll every time you say that... should I hit the lotto here in the USA I will be planning a trip to the UK just to spend a month on a narrowboat. I would love to venture thru some of the small towns ... thanks for sharing
Australia Calling: Thanks fellas, it's something I will never be able to do, that's why I so enjoy your commentary on where you have been and have taken me with you with the video. Just keep on keeping on. Leo
My vote is for the Monmouthshire, Brecon & Abergavenny Canal (Mon and Brec), the last one we did before we got too old and knackered. Lovely and quiet 'cos it's not connected to anything, fantastic views and walks, really recommend it.
OMG you two. My daughter thinks I’m crazy coz I have been cracking up all the way thru. Some beautiful places the countryside is so good to see. Thanks so much beautiful vlog. Please stay safe and take care
Hi Guys I have to agree with your choices on this vlog and have to say that the Upper Peak is our joint favourite along with the LLangollen, We spent a month up there last summer while my husband worked during the day and moving in the evenings and weekends ,Every morning my husband sent a picture of our view to his work colleagues ...they were VERY jealous :) Liz ps we didi say hello to Dillon :(
Hi guys. This was such an amazing upload video. So brilliantly put together. Totally interesting throughout. The both of you and absolutely brilliant. Just love your splendid banter. So phenomenal to listen to. Keep it up. Astonishing countryside. Tony
Brief Encounter ? Is that the film that you mean? You are walking almanacs of the canal system. Excellent stuff that you produce and it really grows on one.
Wonderful informational vlog! As you were saying your number one is….in my head I was shouting Peak Forrest Canal! And anything that is close to a Sweets Factory has to be wonderful! Happy Friday everyone……
Brief Encounter was the movie filmed in Carnforth. My back gate leads straight onto the towpath of the Lancaster Canal and the Lune Aqueduct is only around 10-15 minutes walk away. Living right beside the canal I walk regularly along the towpath, but not in weather like today as it's blowing an absolute foolie as well as peeing down with rain. Usually I walk north to Carnforth or Hest Bank but occasionally I'll go south to Galgate or Glasson.
Oh.........Did not expect the skinny dip at the end. Freezing cold man ! That's a great video guy's, thanks for putting this together fantastic job. Looking forward to the one next week. Stay safe.
Loved this vlog, thanks heaps. We loved the Llangollen Canal, very pretty and not a lot of towns on the way though enough to get your shopping. A few good pubs on the way with great food. I suspect these pubs kinda cater to narrowboats and they know they talk to each other so keep their standards up. Of course the aqueduct was the big attraction. But it was very pretty and very relaxing. 💕
Awesome guys! I have to say that I struggle week to week waiting to see your new content. I enjoyed your antics so much that I binge watched all the vlogs in just over 2 months. Keep up the good work and enjoy yourselves, thank you for the many hours of entertainment and information.
Great vlog! You two always make me smile💜 So Looking forward to my Foxie fridays for a chuckle and some lovelly filming and interesting stories🌸 Have a nice week end💜
Nice to see some of those places again. I think you must be happy to be land based in this weather, hope you got some more snow for Otis to zoom through. Happy weekend. 😀x
Thank you for the great ideas of places to try. We’re hoping to get over for our first narrow boat trip which we would never have done before watching your blogs.
There *has* to be a Prime Video series in the planning?...."Narrowboat Cruising with Jane McDonald & Foxes Afloat" Every time Jane is about to break out into a showtune from the gunwhales, Shaun interrupts with "Yer can't sing that!"
Last time i was on a canals was in the early 90's. Was around 10yrs. old. I found your videos on Amazon and fell in love with narrowboats again and now I'm watching all you YT videos and loving them. Hope to go back sometime and explore the canals again.
Thank you for the great video and your top 5 canels to go on. Have you ever thought of crafting a book together? Thinking more along the lines of a travel book. Though, a book of things you cannot say would be fun too. Be well and take care.
Very entertaining vlog this week! Totally agree with your top 5, especially the Peak District. The things you two have seen and done is wonderful. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
A most helpful blog! Just what’s needed to make a trip on the canals. With you giving away all your favorite moorings, though, I’m wondering what the future holds .
We loved this video. Several years ago, we rented a narrow-boat in Wolverhampton with friends. We did the Staffs and Worcs canal and thought it was really beautiful. We loved stopping near a little town for the night and visiting the pubs. Would love to come back and try one of your favorites.
Hi guys another smashing video I always look forward to your video's on a Friday, you have been to some smashing place's Our first canal holiday was the Warwickshire ring. Best wishes to you both and of course a pat and a treat for Otis Look forward to your next video.

Great top 5. Our favourite type of holiday is hiring a narrow boat and we’ve done lots but we’ll be planning our next one with you in mind. Our favourite was the Llangollen but we did do it between Christmas and New Year when we were the only moving boat so completely empty. We have heard nightmare tales of 2 hour queues just to get by some of the narrow bridges during the summer periods.
Great vlog guy's. Thanks for the interesting facts about your favourite moorings. Looking forward to your next vlog. Take care, stay safe and well. Regards Derek.

You both bring a smile to my face, my life currently is lonely and sad since the death of my wife. You both are a happy, loving couple.

You two are an absolute "hoot". So look forward to your weekly reports and high

We shall look forward to cruising all of these and more in the next few years. Thanks for the great vlogs and beautiful scenery
I'd love it if we had canals down here in Australia. It seems like THE BEST way to unwind as you slowly wend your way through the beautiful scenery.
Loved this vlog, thanks heaps. We loved the Llangollen Canal, very pretty and not a lot of towns on the way though enough to get your shopping. A few good pubs on the way with great food. I loved the little arm down to Glasson you did. Plan on incorporating it into the middle of a 2 week cruise for a couple of days if I can :)
Your videos are so predictable! Predictably brilliant! Always entertaining & informative. Thank you.

Shropshire Union Llangollen canal is my fave. There’s like 5 locks to get to the Pontcysyllte aqueduct and crossing that thing is an experience in itself 😀
It’s a beaut isn’t it
Thanks guys for reminding us of all the great adventures you've taken us on. Take care and all the best. Stevie
