Damn… I wish Mark could’ve played this game’s DLC. There’s more questions about the story/lore that were answered, including the (implied) identity of the Old Man, what happened to the other family members after Tabby left, and some confirmations like the father being the one who killed Toby when the curse possessed him, as well as the inclusion of new, scarier monsters, and more brutal/gory deaths. It would’ve been something he’d be into if he played it… he didn’t even at least water the plant which begins the “Frog King” boss route…

There's one ending after this "final" ending. Go talk to the neighbour and do the task she gives you, also water the plant, it will keep it's growth level after each watering in between playthroughs.

There are multiple games like it, sadly I can't remember the names but I definently recall more like this game. One was about you being a ghost.
17:10 FYI, why Tabby has a Crutch isn't because she lost an arm (obviously but many only see that as the only injury...), When tabby falls at 14:57 watch her backmost leg carefully, it's limp and doesn't move normally, she broke her leg as well, her left arm is visibly gone in the true ending, but her leg is also broken (potentially healing) aswell but cannot be seen, it's a small little detail that goes along way... Also, the fact that these nightmares led to Tabby being physically mutalated and (presumably) without her family anymore is a really sad and morbid ending... She lost everything and parts of her body just trying to save everyone and escape...
I love how MatPat puts so much effort into every game trying to figure out all the endings and then Markiplier over here accidentally gets multiple of them 😂
canonically, anything past the "true ending" is really just a dream. i definitely recommend doing the last 2 entries!!

I wonder if the dad killed Toby after they moved in. We can see that the dad liked bowling, having a favorite ball, and Toby took Melody bowling, so maybe there was a bit more kindness between the two before the dad became corrupted. Or in the very least, there was some neutralness, with the father being protective over his daughter, and the house took advantage of that, resulting in the dad lashing out and killing Toby. It would explain why Toby’s body is so fresh; it’s the loop keeping him that way, since the death pre-loop was really recent.

the part when the doll starts calling you a fool, then immediately retracts and starts begging for its life when you approach to kill it really just reminds me of Flowey in the genocide ending from Undertale.
Exactly! Like, you helped create this! Why are you surprised they're showing you no mercy? You essentially taught them to do that! The doll was asking for it by taunting Tabby repeatedly, and Flowey didn't realize the full extent of the consequences of his actions until he ended up on the wrong end of a knife.
This whole game reminded me of the genocide run. Tabby reminds me of Frisk, and at the end with the old guy, Tabby doesn't hesitate to kill him. That's my take from it anyway, besides the fact that everybody dies except Tabby.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Some aspects of this game r very similar to undertale

Yes! That’s the “true ending” and she got out and the last two are “bonus endings” which are basically what she said, just her dreams/memories of the place :)
Tabby is still connected to the place via dreams because the atmosphere inside seems more otherworldly than just a typical normal house. Tabby only severed her connections to the house but that doesn't mean she's free. The neighbor still remembers her adventures and exploits and how many times Tabby committed genocide.

I love how the protagonist can survive falling down an unspecified height and then also get her arm torn off and still survive at the end.

I’d love to see mark play more pixel horror games like this... maybe not even horror games, just stuff that makes you question reality. Like the good old days with Witch’s House and Ib. It’d be neat to see him play Yume Nikki, which is perhaps the trippiest game I’ve ever experienced.

Please, please make a part 5!!! This game was a really nice and interesting play.
This house can be a metaphor for abuse. Each ending representing a futile way to "fix" it.
In the kill ending, it represents those who lash out with violence. But that doesn't fix it
In the "good" ending, it represents you fixing the smaller issues, saving your mother and your sister. But even if everything seems OK, that doesn't fix the abuse.
The song ending, you can remind the one who's I abusing you how much you love them and reminisce about when things were better. But even if they apologize and promise to fix it, they usually won't.
The killing father ending. You can try to stay in the situation but remove one of the abusers. But if you don't change anything, it's bound to happen again.
The only answer is to leave. Sometimes you can't save those you love. You have to save yourself. And you may lose a piece of yourself. You may be hurt and always have a piece of yourself missing, but it's the only answer
Also maybe call the police?

You don’t know anymore, but the house still haunts you for some weird reason you can’t explain. You fall asleep, and your dream continues the same.. Over.. and.. *Over*
I'm not surprised Mark doesn't get the sister ending. He's been looking at everything so logically... and ignoring what the neighbour has been saying.
Maybe I missed it too. It seems like a generic "your sister is depressed so you should help her out by keeping her alive" statement. I'm sure there's more to it, but I dunno what.

It’s more... lore wise I think? The house is feeding off the negative emotions and pain of its occupants and the sister is clearly massively contributing to it. So when you’re there for her and she feels good enough to play that song that’s familiar to the family, it basically gives the house indigestion. It causes the house significant pain. Obviously not enough to completely break free, but enough to have an effect.
Yeh I had been saying from the start, help the sister, I thought it was so obvious as the neighbour kept telling you to take care of your sister
I have a theory about the sister: I think the reason the she hates everything is because that boy in the basement is her boyfriend. the boy mentions about playing bowling with a girl named melody - the sister hates bowling, and she has a thing for music! it would explain why she is always so depressed
Edit: Maestro Vadaak pointed out that the boy also mentions how Melody's father doesn't like him - and Melody says "I hate what he did"
Edit 2: I have another theory that the ghost that wanders the house with its hands in its pockets may be the boy too (his name is Toby).
I'm a bit late, but another thing backing that up is the sister saying "I hate what he did" and also I think that she mentions hating her dad, and on the other side also to dead boy says to the protagonist "your dad doesn't like me much" or something like that, which truly heavily implies that the father killed him.

It is sad, but he is committed to his channel and making new content that if something seems to not get as much viewers because it is going too long, or something else, I don't know. I, like many others, have been watching him for years, some from the humble beginnings of his content, and we know that sometimes, he just doesn't finish what he started. It is a shame, but at this point it isn't much of a surprise anymore. And that kinda sucks.

But like- can we appreciate how badass Tabby is? Like her whole family is dead and she lost her arm but she just took out the axe and chopped that demon man in half like it was warm butter with a hot knife. I respect that kid so much despite her being a child. Despite the fact she never spoke she became such a likable character. I hope mark plays this more tbh.

Also, the fact that she was fairly resilient after moving on from that tragedy. She only has the snail and herself without her left arm but, she seems to have managed well especially, at that age.
@@burritouzumaki. well i mean u never know how it affected her to die, watch her family die, watch their corpse, watch how their corpses or souls tried to kill her, watch snails and dolls amongst others talk and try to help her, watch as she killed her whole family and other supernatural stuff amongst others...
and it doesnt specify if she was in their soo long that she lived for who knows how much dieing or killing helplessly again and again... and again... It could had been days, weeks, months, years, decades, centuries, millenia amongst others amount of times that she spent contantly experiencing or doing these things...
anyway she is clearly different and was strong as she at least didnt break down mentally... at least in the game...

so im guessing its like a comfort item situation, since the doll was probably sister's childhood toy.
it must have made her feel a but better,like connecting her to when she was young and happy. :)
It wasn't very apparent to me so I guess it's just what you notice. Also it's harder when you're actually playing the game and not just watching
