I still have my original Serpentor sitting on my desk. He's been wearing Dr. Mindbender's cape for the past 35 years.
Love that!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving, GDL family! THIS I COMMAND!!!
Thank you!! You too!
I just set mine up last night. It's just awesome! Didn't know about the fangs on the Chariot. LoL. Thanks.
Glad I could help!
I didnt even know the fangs were in the chariot until now!
very cool! Happy thanksgiving!
I didn’t know at first either, don’t feel bad lol
Add me to that list. Went straight to my shelf with a toothpick
I disagree with the "wasn't ridiculously priced" notion. In Canada, this cost me over $130. There's no way this should have been more than $75 tops, and even that's pushing it.
Yeah out of the states for sure, I was worried it would be that in the states. But 79 was fair for here I think
My Serpentor finally arrived from Hasbro Pulse today. I'm sadly not blown away. It's a not a bad figure, but I think it was a missed opportunity. It could have been a lot better.
Right off the bat, my figure arrived with far too many QC issues. The box was damaged inside the factory sealed shipping box. Meaning the box was damaged during it's initial assembly. Not a big issue for me since, I don't keep packaging, but I would be annoyed if I were a mint in mint box collector.
My Serpentor's left elbow joint was so tight that it would only bend at the bicep, the joint at the forearm would not budge. In my effort to get that elbow joint to move, I ended up popping out the hand, which now has a stress mark on the wrist peg and does not peg into its socket very well (which may have been pre-existing issue and why the hand popped out in the first place).
I appreciate getting two options for the head: The one piece hood, or separate hood and snake head topper (which is my preference). The fangs on the separate snake head topper were badly bent on mine, and required a dunk in hot water then ice water to reset (also how I got that elbow joint to move).
The cape fabric and pattern is nice, but the cape itself is kinda underwhelming. It could really have used a stitched in posing wire, and to have been a smidge heavier. The detailing on the figure itself is kinda bland, which seems to be a running theme with the new direction of copying the original vintage designs. I definitely preferred when the classified line was doing updated redesigns rather than basically one-to-one copies.
The accessories are okay, if a little sparse, but it would be nice to have a place to store them. The air chariot is big enough they could easily have incorporated a compartment to house them in its belly.
The air chariot is nice, but also has a few QC issues. One of the side guns does not peg in securely, and falls off easily if jostled. One of the ammo belts won't peg in to either gun properly (the other works just fine on both). I like the spinning turbine, but wish it had a mechanism to make it spin, as it's difficult to spin manually.
I was happy to see it came with landing gear, but less impressed once I deployed them, they're pretty small and flimsy looking. With Serpentor on the air chariot it becomes back heavy and has a tendency to tip backwards with the landing gear deployed. That feels like poor design. The foot pad orientation feels a bit awkward. Being straight forward makes the pose feel unnatural, since they're far enough apart that the legs have to be angled outward to reach them.
The chariot is absolutely screaming for some weathering. There's some nice detail on the sculpt: panel lines, that knerling pattern in the cobra hood, etc, but it all gets lost in the gold plastic. More and better paint apps would have helped tremendously, and honestly ought to be expected at this price point and being a "deluxe" presentation. When Mattel is putting out the MotU Sky Sled with Prince Adam, which is a similar sized vehicle, with a figure of similar size and articulation, which comes with a flight stand, and is like a third of the price of this, it's hard to justify Hasbro's pricing.
Finally, and this is probably the most minor quibble: The packaging was a nightmare to open and beak down. Way too many things taped down that had no reason to be.
Overall I give it a 7/10, but that's on the merit of coming with a vehicle. I'm glad I have it, I'm sure it will display nicely, but they could have done so much better. Without the chariot, this would be a 6/10 for me.
Still waiting for mine. Glad to see GDL cover Classified!!
Got mine yesterday. I'm 43 not sure I was excited as Christmas 87(original serpentor) but I am very happy
I have the 3.75 serpentor and chariot on my desk from when I was a kid, so I was super excited to see this at my local Gamestop today! Loving this line. Great review!
Awesome! And thank you!
Jay! I'll admit that I'd forgotten how good a reviewer you are. 🙂👍
That’s so kind, thank you Michel!
I was able to pick him up during the second offering, hopefully he will ship soon, can't wait for this!
Did u get yours? I got 3rd pre-order 1 day on Feb 1 I think? Gijoe day maybe feb8 I dunno. But he came yesterday, said may 1
This is such a fantastic review, Jay! Many thanks! Mine arrived last week and I agree with your assessment of the figure! I absolutely love it! Easily one of Hasbro’s best figures of the year!
Thank you so much Gary!
Wow I wish you were My dad as a kid haha. At our age we have the same toy collecting hobbies
Awesome review! Mine was delivered a few days ago, I have not opened it yet.
Thank you, and you have an awesome figure waiting for you!
Figure of the year for me hands down!
Huh? Serpentor is an #EpicFail IMO. He's Not 10 ft. Tall! He's like 6'4"/ 6'8" Tops, standing Next to A 6ft. Mindbender- Serpentor looks like He's from another line altogether He's so out of scale.
Nice review! I have yet to open mine.
I was never really a huge fan of Serpentor in the cartoon as a kid, but I did have the toy, and this is definitely tugging at my nostalgia. But over $130 here in Canada is hard to swallow.
Yeah that's a lot of mula, maybe they'll get discounted at some point?
Just got my copy in, love it
Great video, I should get Dr Mindbinder this weekend
I think if this was real life, Serpentor needing to be in a squatting postion would be the least of our worries. That part of the review was funny. Happy Thanksgiving :)
🤣 Happy Thanksgiving!
Very solid release! I agree with your nomination
Mine came in yesterday, definitely a toy of the year contender, and I'm not even a GI Joe guy
Completely agree!
Cool! Congratulations 👍😁
Too bad he didn't also come with an iguana to celebrate the DIC cartoon...LOL
Happy Thanksgiving GDL!
Thanks Joey!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Sadly I ordered mine on the 2nd round. On the bright side, next year is looking good.
I was hoping we would get the Crimson Guard wave before the end of the year but I guess not. At least the Hasbro Pulse exclusives are coming out.
Very cool item! I'll never own it, but it's great to see it come out and work so well! Happy Thanksgiving Jay to you and your family! 🙂 Jeff
Happy thanksgiving Jeff!

This figure is so badass I 💗 it, same time I hope to see Serpentor in Super7 ReAction Style to put alongside Galvatron “COBRA LALALALALALA LA🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍”
I agree!!
Opened mine tonight. The headdress was detatched from the top of his head like yours was. But whatever. Just push it back on. Wow the chariot fangs were a bit finicky to get out.
Yeah I completely missed those fangs at first lol
Definitely looks like yet another great figure from the Classified line; too bad it's an exclusive and that they missed on wiring its cape, but aside from those things, looks just fine👌
There sure aren't many perfect toys out there these days, but boy ole boy this is one of them! The elbows on mine were super tight and I had a heck of a time getting the packaging open without damaging it, but literally that's it. The only problem I have is that since I was never into GI Joe as a kid and never collected the toys, there's no nostalgia with this one for me, it's just a damn fine action figure with amazing accessories and I really cannot believe he wasn't 100 bucks, which he still would have been worth in my opinion. Well done indeed! Now I just need my MOTU Origins Snake Men figures to pose with him, but right now I have him posed with the Power Rangers Lightning Collection Snizzard figure, hahaha, like I said, not a GI Joe collector so I gotta make up my own fun stuff to do with him
Love this Comix!
Trying to decide which is the figure of the year for me, Tiger Force Outback is Serpentor, of course Serpentor will probably get the nod for the Air Chariot but Outback’s head sculpt is amazing
They're both great, but I would give the edge to Serpentor because of the chariot, even if its kind of unfair to outback lol
@@GeekDadLife If only Outback would have come with the F.L.A.K. Cannon that the 3.34" version 6 came with in 2009, then he would have definitely been top of the line...lol.
I really hope this one arrives to México at a fair price... Looks really cool, never have the original tho.
Thank you😺
I hope Nemesis Enforcer is next
🐍🐍🐍 great video!🤘
Thank you!!
Easily the best figure of the year....sorry spirit I still love you dawg haha!
FYI... Cobras don't have fangs, they have teeth😮
Definitely toy of the Year
A dark and gritty Serpentor origin today would be based off of Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin and John Wayne Gacey.
That would be the Zach Snyder version lolol
But He's no longer 6'4"/6'7". This fig puts him in at like 9'5" now! Way out of scale.. So ya gotta thrown _Yao Ming_ &/ or Andre the Giant into the "Origin equation" as well.
Easily Figure of the year.

Ótimo
Very Awesome!! With each Classified figure that releases, I have a lil more regret for not getting into this line from the start. Especially now being as deep as it is, can't pull a Craig and buy a whole Classified collection in a swoop
Just do it a little bit at a time? lol
It's a nice figure/vehicle pack set no doubt, but I can clearly see here there is a green paint bleeding in the chest area, so the "flawlessly executed" claim is bit exaggerated IMHO.
I was meaning more about how they executed the paint scheme, versus the application being perfect.
@@GeekDadLife Got ya...
@@josephk8506 it’s confusing, clearly English or journalism wasn’t my major 😝
@@GeekDadLife Don't look at me, I studied engineering and I'm into design, what do I know!?
@@josephk8506 🤣
"The Classified Series has been impressive from the start."
Nah. It took a few waves to get it right. Wave 1 in particular was atrocious.
I think there was a lot to like, even if it wasn’t beholden to the OG designs.
@@GeekDadLife - The "OG designs" are everything. That is why they reverted. The audacity of designers to think they could improve on original designs is why fans were pissed.
Finally after a few years they're going the right direction, but not before a bunch of garbage waves.
@Geek. Dad. Life.
The first wave was trying to catch the Fortnite crowd
They only really took off when they pivoted hard to the classic designs
@@TheGreatDayne1983 not denying that fact, but I still thought they proved how they could make the paint and details really nice
Oh my gosh. Hands down the best figure of the year 🙌🏽🙌🏽 i got mine last week, thanks to @Megajayretro for letting me know how to preorder it😅
Couldn't agree more!
