+WALTERRIFIC It might be part of a trend. Not the "...because I'm Batman!" meme but because I see more creators (okay, so far only two) trying to point out how ridiculous it has gotten. Maybe its just a horribly mistaken impression on my part, but it seems like more fans (and writers) take "...because I'm Batman!" as a serious justification so that Batman can do anything.
+Kami-sama no Otaku we've all lived long enough to know that batman basically prepares for virtually any outcome, so him magically shrinking in the presence of ant-man doesn't really surprise me. the "because I'm batman" is better than just saying "i reverse engineered the ant-man suit to be used by me in the event of any emergency" when it's just as easily explained with "because I'm batman" it implies that being batman makes you prepare for everything.

+TheBrilliantAndAmazingGamer Batman *attempts* to prepare for everything, but he isn't perfect. He isn't all knowing. Plus there are the things you just can't prepare for... but Batman fanatics insist that doesn't apply to him. Instead people try to build him up because "He's a normal human!" but in reality, he's basically a superhuman with powers that affect reality... like nearly all protagonists. It is just that because of lacking overt super powers, it is a lot more obvious than the guy who survives being shot because his skin is amazingly damage resistant or because he's got a mutant healing factor.
I recommend trying to run Batman in a role-playing game like GURPS. When you go to build this human that has no "super powers" you realize he costs so many Character Points he's on part with demigods of legend.
