  • Virginia's Bald Mountain Jeep Trail is not to be missed! Residing in the George Washington National Forest of the Blue Ridge Mountains, it connects the Shenandoah Valley to the Blue Ridge Parkway. While you drive it, you are met with fun water crossings and light rock crawling, all in a beautiful forested landscape. This was Todd's first time driving a 2-door JL Wrangler Rubicon and his first time on the trail, which he found using the Trails Offroad app - he loved the trail and the 2-Door Wrangler!

    My son and I discovered this trail a few years ago. It is one of our favorite places to disperse camp. Thanks for the video.

      It is a very cool area. Don't forget to post up a photo or two on our website. We would love to see them.

      Yeah, we had a few things going on that created a bit of a delay in getting new content out.

      We really suggest it! Especially if you can snag one of the campsites at the Blue Ridge Parkway end of the trail.

    Great video covering the East Coast. Virginia has lots to offer. Hopefully you did a few more while you were here! :)

    Great footage and video. I spent time up there before fall on the MABDR shooting for my little channel jeepNdirt, but the weather didn't hold up. We came back into the NC area and caught fall foliage in full peak and shot footage there and titled the video "No camping overlanding" since we simply explored multiple areas. I'm downloading your tracks and saving for next fall.

      When we did this trail the first time to write our official trail guide we got lucky with great weather and fall foliage, it made for great photos. A couple of our team members got to head down to Uwharrie for mapping and the leaves down there at the time were great too. The east in October can be a real treat, hope the weather holds up better for you next time!

    What’s the specs on your 2 door? What engine? What lift and tire size are those Mickeys? Great video and love seeing the 2 doors getting it done! The Geo correction brackets were no hindrance at all! Great to see! ✌🏻

      Its the 3.6L. We are running the AEV 2.5” lift. The tires are 37”. We absolutely love this little 2 door. Thanks for watching!

    Your footage is amazing! Big Levels is a great trail. Honestly, this is probably the best video I've seen of Big Levels. Those water pits can be brutal, depending on rainfall. I killed my old WJ out there!

      Thank you so much for the kind words! That was the first trail I did out east and I loved it so much, I ran it 2 more times after that! I can see how the water levels can vary so much. It was about a foot shallower the second time I ran the trail just a month after the first. Virginia is an amazing state - I can't wait to get back. - John

    You did an outstanding job with the videography. I just moved to the Shenandoah Valley in April and I just bought my first jeep in August! Looking forward to hitting this trail and was looking for some videos and I came across yours, thank you so much for posting and I subscribed.

    I was going DOWN that trail from the top. The water was up to my bottom windows coming just over the hood with a 4 in. of lift on 35 tires. It was march of 2018. An old fire trail. Its on the Blue Ridge Parkway but just a handful of miles to the connecting Skyline drive.

    For our first 4x4 ride this was a pretty fun, but long, trail. Wish we had a Wrangler but a KL Trailhawk seemed to be enough.

    Great video. I’m always looking for help with these tight trails when it comes to my rig. Can this be done in my power wagon and off road trailer (trailer 12’ total length)? Oh…without tearing the paint off the sides 😂. I’m a trails off-road subscriber an would appreciate the feedback. Thank you

      Hey Bill, we love to hear it! Power Wagons are some of our favorite rigs. As an All-Access member, you can ask a question to the trail guide author on any trails you need any clarification on. It’s at the very bottom of each trail guide on the website!

    Just browsed through the trails off-road map. There’s not too much in the Carolinas. I assume you add peoples routes in when they record a trail.

    • @Trailsoffroad
      @Trailsoffroad  Год назад +1

      Good Day CR, we have in house writers that create the trail guides. But with that said, we are doing a heavy push right now on the east coast adding new routes every days. If there is any trail you think needs to get done, let us know and we will send a team out to map it. You will be welcome to join us while we do it.

    How long would you say the trail takes to drive?

    • @Trailsoffroad
      @Trailsoffroad  Год назад +1

      Definitely depends on your driving capabilities, number of vehicles, rest stops, etc. however on our guide for the duration we say 'About 3 hours'

    Like the video of the Jeep trial and it looks like that a stock jeep would make it. I've got a 2013Jeep Wrangler sport with a set of 285 75 16 AT tires and a winch and a 6speed trans. No lift. Would I be able to do this Jeep trail .

      The best thing to do is go to our website and review the data there. You will find the link in the video description above. Once there will see the vehicle requirements and recommendations and so much more.

      I did it in a bone stock 2016 JKU. The mud pits will be the worst of it. There are bypasses that are slightly shallower, but they will likely be up to, or just above your floorboards.
