I am going to show this to my class tomorrow. I teach in a small school in Switzerland where the children ski 3 or 4 times a week. There are some very keen skiers in the class who are the same age as August. They are interested to see his level. ❄☃Thank you for these videos.🎿

For 15 years I have been coaching freeskiing privately and I kind of made it quite high in the hierarchy of my "tribe." I also have two daughters, 3 and 5, With all my experience, That said, I see I still have a lot to learn when I see your way of passing your passion for skiing. Full respect for being a friend to your son all the time and letting him how you not just love him but also fully trusts him.
Thanks for the comment! Sometimes I see coaches let the technical aspects override the very reason we do these sports! If we can hook them in and empower them - then sports live on! 👊

Have to say, I've been kind of waiting to see more August skiing, because he is really good at the age of 8. My daughter is also 8, she is learning parallel. I know the feeling that a father is proud of how the kids progress!

August is a ripper. You better start putting the camera's on August's helmet if you plan on getting film. In a year or two you won't be able to keep up with him. He is a better skier at 8 than I was at 18. 😂

He was pretty stoked on being up high! He did show some fear on the one chute on this day as it was steep and firm.

By the way, what’s the elevation up there? Does it get to like 5,000 meters or so? Or is it higher?

im curious. dont know if you allready have, but since im from a very flat area/country, how do the roads and trails get made? i know the use machines in the winter(i think) but do they make the tracks doing the summer time so that snow can fall perfect in the winter?
There are man made roads for machines and snowmobiles which are used for summer access and maintenance. There is some glading (tree removal) to improve skiing but much of the mountain is simply naturally left to be and receive the blanket of snow!

So when you ski with him are you holding back or does he ski like an adult and you can go full out as if you were alone
Mostly because of my weight, I go faster down the runs. And in steep off piste terrain I am still more comfortable. But he is passing me with his Freestyle skiing spinning 360s and attempting rails.
