This is the top 10 I’ve been most looking forward to, Lanier is a really classy , refined, elegant gentleman who really knows his stuff , the production and music brings me back to my childhood, yes I’m old , I’m 48 this Tuesday, thanks again Lanier for all your videos I just hope your viewers realise that your videos are an education 👍
Neal Francis...Happy Birthday. 48.... you are just a kid! Thank you really and truly from the center of my heart for your lovely and kind comment. YOU made me so happy. Cheers.
Always a pleasure 😀 watch .. I am glad you were tagged very good choices and had a felling Chanel would pop up on the list 🙂.. Hope you having a good one
Lanier you my dear have fantastic taste of fragrances and what I see in your videos have an elegant taste for everything. Thank you for wonderful video!
Gorgeous and sophisticated choices, sir. I’ve been wanting to get my nose on Aramis after watching your review. As always, thank you for a wonderful video.
Hello. I enjoy your videos , the introduction and music of The Wizard of Oz are wonderful!! Love how you describe the fragrances and you have an impeccable taste . Enyoy this beauties! Thank you from Barcelona .
James I have the EDT too and find myself reaching for it more than the pure parfum. It is simply that glorious in all it's forms. (the hand soap too!) Cheers.
Thank you Steve!! It was fun to make. I was out filming and when I saw that path winding into the back 40 of Oakwood Abbey, will it brought to mind The Wizard of Oz ...and I had to do it. LOL. Cheers.
Always a pleasure watching your videos Lanier. Classy choices all the way, but I was kind of surprised to see that Chanel's Pour Mousiuer was not picked...was it the new formulation that killed a long and intense love story?
No I still love it but I simply wanted to not be to Chanel heavy in my choice.... I would of course seek Pour Monsieur past the old witch who cast the 10 only curse on Oakwood Abbey. Cheers to you Sergio.
You are the Master of Production! I love your openings! Ohhhhh, my Dad wore 4711 - such memories. I love Shalimar, but it took me until my 60's to be able to wear and love it and Chanel #5 (loving the L'Eau version). Loving your lamp (again!) and the horse sculpture. Thank you for another entertaining and wonderful video! Hugs, Susan
Great list Lanier!!! I love everyone of them except Aramis, it just leaves nauseated because I wore it so much almost 30 years ago. Miss you and your content. God bless
What is your eau savage review...my new co worker wore it 45 years ago and I loved it.i gifted a gentleman this year with the eau savage...johnny deep version and he loved it.enjoy your presentations very much.
Lovely video! I am a new Shalimar fan. Chanel no. 19 is my perennial choice for summer, and if I had to pick just one fragrance for the rest of my life due to an even more evil witch's spell, I would choose Chanel no. 5
Great walking path! Lovely Neighborhood! I can't believe I've got two of your ten in my rotation - La Artisan's Fou de Absinthe ... LOVE it ! as well as Aramis. Your others are not shabby at all - good sauce for sure! I really like your videos Lanier - La Artisan has two of my favorites in their line, Dzing & Noir Exquis.
Thank you so much for doing this line up. I love MiP too. I would have mentioned it in my video, but I wanted to share so others. So so good! Your good friend Chad😉
Love your films.Great list. It seems that many stand the test of time. I have a nostalgic soul and enjoy those scents on your list, for that reason. Ironically, I placed an order Floris No. 89, today. Thank you for the video. I am looking forward to more. p.s. This is off-topic for this group and I am not tagging you, but I am curious to see your Top 10 cocktails for life!!!
Over the years l have worn many fragrances some good some not so! I love Shalimar because it is so timeless. it is very subtle ( as the finest fragrances are) but has an unmistakable sophistication. Aqua Di Parma does not last on my skin unfortunately. Hermes d terre is my signature scent. I do enjoy listening to people who have an obvious passion for this art. Thank you. Regards from England.
Tasty, classy and spot on--an excellent list! Picture this: I am walking along on a perfect, sunny NW summer Sunday morning, listening to your list on my earbuds, chuckling in delighted agreement with each perfume you announce saying, "Oooh, goood! Good choice, good choice! Beautiful, yeeeah!" Yep, the folks around probably thought me mad-daft. Or perhaps just another average Seattleite? Hmmm.... Excellent job. Happy weekend, mahalo!
Jon I am tickled to the quick at your marvelous comment. We really should go fragrance shopping some time in Seattle. Then the City folk will be in for a real treat as we chatter way on notes and house, all things wonderful on that olfactory day. What do you say? Cheers.
Just discovered your channel. I remember such classics as Arpege, Chanel 5, and more recently Panthere by Cartier. I remember being able to buy Shalimar pure perfume and being able to get refills from high end department stores that were refilled from a large vat. This scent in such pure form was so delicious you felt you could almost drink it. I find nowadays these "names" are still available but have nowhere near the delicious purity that the originals have as they have all unfortunately been reformulated. I am sure you know what I am referring to. Do you have any suggestions regarding any perfume or possibly strengths of fragrances that have that initial smell that the perfume was originally created for. Unfortunately nowadays most fragrances can begin with an almost chemical odor.
I feel that Guerlain's pure parfum of Shalimar is still magnificent. Perhaps the best of the old school fragrances still around. That and Jicky. Cheer Marilyn
Great top 10 Lanier, I love Royal Mayfair also, and thank God 4711 comes in 800 ml bottles! I only remember that Shalimar smells fantastic, I’ll have to get a sample to jog my memory. I’ve read that in the early 19th century 4711 was also an aperitif!
An Aperitif!! my goodness. I read that the Empress Eugénie wife of Napoleon II drank Eau de Cologne Impériale by Guerlain to clam her headaches. Well there you go.! Cheers.
OMG!! That intro... ❤️👍! Glad you included Aramis, as it's a beautiful sexy fragrance. The only thing you mentioned that surprised me was Chanel no 19! I don't recall you mentioning that one 🤔, lol. This was a fun tag. I'm sure it took you quite awhile to choose from that vast collection you have. LOVED IT SO MUCH!!!
I love your intro, about the witch! Very fun! 4711 is one I actually will sometimes nab from by boyfriend; it's so refreshing. What a wonderful list! I was delighted to see you have many that I know and love, as well; Shalimar, No. 5, No. 19, Acqua di Parma. I'll have to look into the others on your list, as you have excellent taste! Your reviews introduced me to Dior Homme, which I wear from time to time-- despite being "for men," I don't care, life is too short to let labels keep one from enjoying a fragrance. Thank you for sharing your top 10 with us! I hope you have a lovely week!
Thank you so much for being honest about creed Aventus! I just don't get it? I so dislike the scent and would sell it on eBay if I ever received a bottle as a gift. There are so many Dior, Channel, YSL, Armani, and other fragrances I would choose over that one in a heartbeat.
Classic music, classic Lanier!!! Sorry I’m late to the party, but I’m here. I love all of those fragrances you mentioned. I hope you are well. Until the next time, live long and prosper 🖖
I have Arabie. It would be my Christmas day scent in a Middle Eastern desert. Otherwise Costume National Homme is my Xmas day scent. I love Arabie though.
Great list some of my favorites as well , I’m glad nobody tagged me yet I would have a hard time with just choosing 10 out of my 800 bottle collection, I’m having a hard time even trying to downsize now because I love so many fragrances, I do wanna downsize but I don’t haha , cheers
I remember Aramis when it first came out..way back then..lol........I never liked it as it was a heavy too loud bomb to me...and of course everyone was wearing it..just like when Gorgio Bev Hills was soon after dominating the "world". .but a few others on your list i have..MIP..adore it..now its gotten quite expensive thanks to all of us wanting this d/c'd frag..i wear it especially at bedtime..so relaxing and comforting. Thanks again for you review/video..havent seen you in some time...always good to see you....Bob
Cheers Bob and thank you so much. Yes it is a bit of a leather bomb, but as my nose ages it needs a good blast from the past now and then. ...more now,now than then LOL. Cheers.
Here is a man who knows how to apply his fragrance. Two sprays and he is done! Classy and respectful, unlike many others who advise spraying 5, 7, or even more times.
If any fragrance reviewer should win an award for video production , it's Lanier. No question about it . I like 4711 . Try CdG's Citrico .It's like it some. I really like both. Awesome list Lanier
I so enjoy your videos, Lanier, and you'l be smelling great with those ten gems, for sure! I as a bit surprised to see Fou d'Absinthe on the list...I love it, but nobody talks about this one. Cheers!
Top 10 for life is very difficult, and it would change week to week. Too many would be left out that shouldn't be. But for now: I'd have to start with my 3 all time favorites before going to occassion-appropriate categories, so: 1. Ralph Lauren Polo Green 2. Dior Sauvage EDT 3. Creed Bois du Portugal Then I'd go to categories: 4. Most formal, elegant "scent for a King's coronation: Creed Royal Oud. 5. "Everyday scent": Creed Viking. 6. "Office scent": Creed Original Vetiver. 7. Freshie/Oceanic/Marine/Aquatic: Creed EROLFA. And since I'm a big fougere fan: 8. Guerlain Heritage. 9. YSL Rive Gauche Pour Homme. 10. Tom Ford Beau de Jour. What can I say, Im a Creed lover. Too many left out though. Invasion Barbare. Terre d'Hermes. Guerlain Vetiver. Etc etc. But that's fir tiday.
WoWzers- here’s a name and face that has disappeared for quite some time....... Or maybe I just didn’t have my notifications still enabled......…?!?! If so, do forgive please...... Very very nice list, very nice intro and production Lanier- so thrilled to see your wit, creativity and dynamic energy is still in tact and thriving..... 🤙🏼🤙🏼
1) 4711/Farina Gegenu(e)ber...Eau de Cologne Originale-Echt Ko(e)lnisch Wasser/ Roger&Gallet Farina EDC Extra Vieille/ Guerlain EDC Imperiale/Eau de Guerlain/Eau de Cologne Chanel (all variants of the classic J.M. Farina Eau de Cologne Originale). 2) Jicky/Mouchoir de Monsieur-Guerlain (to me, essentially two iterations of the same fragrance). 3) Acqua di Parma. 4) Eau de Cologne d’ Orange Verte-Hermes. 5)Vetiver-Guerlain. 6) Chanel Pour Monsieur. 7) Eau Sauvage-Christian Dior. 8) Eau d’ Hermes. 9) Green Irish Tweed-Creed. 10) Eau d’Hadrien-Annick Goutal.
Solid list. I love both Chanel No.19 and 4711 Cologne. I've been wanting to sample Iris des Champs for quite sometime but have not gotten around to it for some reason. Thanks for the reminder :D
Fragrances, like books, take you on a journey to places near and dear or far and wide. Thank goodness many classics have survived in this century lest our imagination will have no place to go. These fragrance tags are a great way to introduce these scents to a younger generation to help them to develop their noses. Alas, there is none in the current output of candy smelling scents and cheap synthetics.
Since you have atleast two fragrances that are marketed to women in your top ten, why don't you make a video titled " Fragrances marketed to women that can be worn by men" ..like these: Gres Cabochard,Chanel No5, Jean Louis Scherrer, Sisley Eau du Soir, Fendi Fendi (1986) etc..
Always love to hear you talking on Fragrances Lanier. Great list! ☺
Nice picks, one can easily tell that you are a true gentlemen. Such class is refreshing to see in today's world.
Wonderful 👍😊 Thank you very very much! God bless you!

Hey, Lanier. Great selection as your taste is superb. Always looking forward to one of your videos!!!!
Nice choices! I recently invested in Shalimar for the first time. I wish I had started using it decades ago!
Lovely video! I am a new Shalimar fan. Chanel no. 19 is my perennial choice for summer, and if I had to pick just one fragrance for the rest of my life due to an even more evil witch's spell, I would choose Chanel no. 5

Vids*
Aqua de Parma Colonia is old but still fresh and casual and easy to wear in hot weather.

Hi Catherine...you may be surprised that it took me all of 5 3/4 minutes to pick my 10. I know I was! Cheers.
I'm surprised you didn't pick pour monsieur by Chanel haha
I love your intro, about the witch! Very fun!
4711 is one I actually will sometimes nab from by boyfriend; it's so refreshing.
What a wonderful list! I was delighted to see you have many that I know and love, as well; Shalimar, No. 5, No. 19, Acqua di Parma. Dear Eliza thank you so much. You keep on wearing whatever you like. Like you say, life is too short to limit oneself. Cheers.
Thank you so much for being honest about creed Aventus! I just don't get it? I so dislike the scent and would sell it on eBay if I ever received a bottle as a gift. There are so many Dior, Channel, YSL, Armani, and other fragrances I would choose over that one in a heartbeat.
Cheers and thank you Alberto for the wonderful comment.
Great top ten Lanier! Great intro! Like your style of videos!
I guess we're not in Kansas anymore! ToTo! Where's Toto? Loved this one!
Yep not in Kansas...or San Francisco anymore! I traded Toto in for Boots. Cheers.
Wonderful selections for a debonair individual. I agree, Royal Mayfair is a Creed gem flying below the radar.
Bigwave2003 thanks so much Big!! I do adore that Royal Mayfair! Cheers
Wonderful list Lanier! I knew there would be Chanel in there 😊
Hi Liner, what is closer to the smell of Boucheron Pour Homme؟

I've got a Christmas day scent too! Arabie from serge lutens, i think it smells like Christmas cake. I Don't care for aventus either 💃 nice one
Thanks Rich! What is the name of your Christmas scent? Cheers.
I feel your pain Matt...what a dilemma! Cheers.
Cheers Bob and thank you so much. Yes it is a bit of a leather bomb, but as my nose ages it needs a good blast from the past now and then. ...more now,now than then LOL. Cheers.
Here is a man who knows how to apply his fragrance. Two sprays and he is done! Classy and respectful, unlike many others who advise spraying 5, 7, or even more times.
daveysprocket001 thanks so much Davey! Cheers
Acqua di Parma Colonia is a classic and my scent of the day
Bravo you your classic and elegant taste bhaffar! Cheers.
Cheers!
Chanel Nº19 would make my Top Ten, also. I'm crazy about green scents. :)
2 sprays is really all you are going with for the day ?? i love your taste and your videos !

Nice collection👌I have Love in White and Virgin Island Water from the house of Creed also chanel no5
Brava Abigail! I have to revisit Virgin Island Water... Cheers.
Top 10 for life is very difficult, and it would change week to week. Too many would be left out that shouldn't be. But for now:
I'd have to start with my 3 all time favorites before going to occassion-appropriate categories, so:
1. Ralph Lauren Polo Green
2. Dior Sauvage EDT
3. Creed Bois du Portugal
Then I'd go to categories:
4. Most formal, elegant "scent for a King's coronation: Creed Royal Oud.
5. "Everyday scent": Creed Viking.
6. "Office scent": Creed Original Vetiver.
7. Freshie/Oceanic/Marine/Aquatic: Creed EROLFA.
And since I'm a big fougere fan:
You are welcome Gunmetal... get your nose on that Iris...! Cheers.
Fragrances, like books, take you on a journey to places near and dear or far and wide. Thank goodness many classics have survived in this century lest our imagination will have no place to go. Just subscribed and ordered Aramis :)
how did it go? Aramis is quite beautiful
💜
Check out Bois du Portugal by Creed I'm sure you will like it.
I can't believe you left out Bogart pour homme and Guerlain heritage. Wow.
Creed Royal Mayfair is genius. :)
Since you have atleast two fragrances that are marketed to women in your top ten, why don't you make a video titled " Fragrances marketed to women that can be worn by men" ..like these:
Gres Cabochard,Chanel No5, Jean Louis Scherrer, Sisley Eau du Soir, Fendi Fendi (1986) etc..
I AM NOT FAN OT BORING AVENUTS TOO :) I HAVE RIYAL MAYFARE AND VIKING :) THEY ARE AMAZING !!! :)
