For some reason I feel like saying this: in my opinion this is the best car related channel on youtube, and in fact one of the best channels overall. Everything just works, the vibe, the style, how natural and normal everyone and everything is, no unnecessary acting and so on. I often just smile through the whole video and replay some parts several times just because I like them so much, and I'm always looking forward to new videos.
It's also family friendly and helping people is a main aspect of why they do recoveries. On many other channels, the reasoning is "because I want to" or "it would look cool"
When Matt recognized his engine, that triggered a memory for me. My great grandpa's merc had some serious problems, so my uncle and i went and bought a donor car. As we were pulling the car apart, he kept double taking at it. At first i said nothing, but when he pulled apart seats, he realized it used to be his merc in his youth, because he'd taken the rails and cut them up, so they'd fit him and his taller frame. It's funny when you realize something came back to you. At least, watching someone have the experience, i I haven't had such an experience yet, but i fully expect it to happen at some point. :)) Must be a trip.
You did a great job of respecting supercar and welcoming him while also trying to avoid the political message. Really don't want to see politics on this channel so thanks for how well you handled it.

Rarely do we go out and not pull at least 1 person out. Especially when it’s been as dry as it’s been. The sand at sand hollow is not like any where else I’ve been. It’s like talcum powder when it’s dried out and most people don’t know how to drive in it. I would bet there’s at least 30-40 stuck vehicles every busy day. I’m there with you, Matt! We had a ‘63 Monza w/ a 110 HP engine and it was fantastic, especially in Colorado winters! It was wonderful on long trips, too.
Regarding the comment about other people helping those who are stuck. Matt summed it up well. Most people out 4 wheeling or UTVing now seem to not have the skillset to recover a vehicle. I've been off roading for approximately 50 years now, and initially you had to do all of the mods and maintenance on you vehicle yourself, and do any self recovery or field repairs yourself, and whatever buddies where traveling with you. Now, most of the folks I see on the trail, or during club rides have no idea how to do maintenance or repairs on their own machine, and don't have the mechanical knowledge to safely recover a stuck or broken vehicle.
I was recovered by some super nice locals in sand hollow when I was there! (Not from Utah myself) they used a kinetic rope! Shout out to those folks for keeping me off a video! Although I love the videos, I don't wanna be be one lol. Thanks for your hard work and teaching us how you do things. It's saved me and I use that knowledge to help others now too, thank you to the morr crew! I can't say it enough!
Solid color epoxy floors are going to look great in the ol'Shop just remember don't add the chips, youll have a helluva time looking for dropped nuts, bolts and washers.
My bossman just did epoxy with sprinkles. When I drop a nut now I just take bolt and go to nut bin for a new one!!! Then at the end of the day when I sweep I just put old nut in old nuts bin!!!
The chips also make it a little less slippery, though sand solves that, too. I have worked on gray epoxy with chips and clear epoxy. I would do gray with chips.
“…once we get out clean room in, I’m gonna MEASURE things!!!” I just laughed sooo hard that coffee came outta my nose, and now I have to change my shirt…😂
Matt, have you ever heard of the Groaning Chair? It’s a woodworking tool, perhaps the most important one. You might need one in your own shop. It’s the place you go when the project you’re working on stumbles, when a critical part breaks, when a lot of effort suddenly goes *poof* up in smoke. The Groaning Chair is one of the most important tools in the shop.
I need one of those for... basically everything in my life. ;) I generally go play puzzle games, and then I'm tired from puzzling over the games for too long.
Great job everyone! ❤ Rhett and Katelyn are my people 😂 Rest after finishing a task to be ready for the next and super independent when given a task. "Go away. I'll do it myself!", I'd tell my dad after he gave me something car or house related to work on. 😂❤ He's a great dad who taught his girls automotive and house repair.
Don’t criticize Rhett, there’s method to the madness. I learned that technique from my grandfather working in the garden. He would hoe a little and then lean on the hoe to ponder. Pondering refreshes the brain and we’re less apt to rush in and make senseless mistakes.😎👍
I am a big fan of Katelynn.... watching her knowledge grow and Matt's overall knowledge of engines in general but his passion for Corvairs is exceptional. I have respect for that endless amount of what he knows about engines.....always keeps me coming back.
Enjoyed this. My dad was a mechanic, I grew up in his shop. I always joked that he had forgotten more about cars then I’ll ever know. Thx Matt for wholesome entertainment : )
Always nice to see the moral support specialist peanut on the job As always peanut knows when an where to stay cool an when someone in the crew needs to stop an pet a dog
Rhett needs focus...you find something he truly passionate about, be it car mechanics, race driving, music, art, design...where ever life leads him...and watch out...when he directs, focuses his passion...🙂🙂unstoppable...
Absolutely LOVE this channel. It covers so many aspects of interests its not funny..... it hilariously engaging and educational all at the same time. Keep up the weather reports Ed and Katelynn's enthusiasm and attitude is refreshing for an oldie to see in the youth.
Hey Matt! I wanted to say thank you. Watching your videos has taught me a lot about not just towing, but recovery, what to do off roading and also parenting. I really hope you read this comment and that it lifts your spiri!
Small world... Mr Calvin Clark, founder of Clark's corvair was a teacher of mine at Mohawk trail regional high School in Shelburne falls Massachusetts. Excellent teacher, great guy, and corvair fanatic extraordinaire.
I get it Kaitlynn. As a woman who through my working years was in the “man’s working world” I understand wanting to” do it myself”. Too many times I had well meaning guys almost push me aside trying to “ show me” how to do something. You have to be assertive and you seem to do that well on this engine tear down. And I can see how much Matt just wanted to tear these engines down himself. Heck, as he is talking about letting Kaitlynn do it herself he can’t help but keep his hand on the engine. I get passion and appreciate Matt’s.
You guys are so genuine and authentic. I was disappointed to see association with supercar Ron. I don’t want to sound mean-spirited, but anyone who feels the need to conceal themselves with goofy masks and who’s leading quality is being rich (apparently) has no place on your channel. Keep it real and wholesome! Thanks for all you do and never underestimate the positive effect you have on people’s lives.
I totally agree. Got a lil pit in my stomach when I realized who it was. Then that political sticker peaked into frame.. The pit grew. I hope that's the last time that happens.
I understand the Corvair passion. I drove them on and off since 1980. Mostly late models, but my favorite was my 62-4-6. From three junk cars that had similar mileage of 98,000 miles, I put together a car I drove for several years. It was a 62 with a 64 rear suspension and a 66 95hp engine. It was not very fast, but that is the car I miss the most.
Many years ago, my dad's best friend was a commercial pilot and Corvair enthusiast/restorer. We were airplane painters at the time and performed the paint work. As a teenager, I got to see many of these classics up close--before the ravages of time made them ugly. My favorite was the 1966 Corsa convertible.
The look on Matt's face when he tore into the engine he had built years ago was awesome. Keep up the great videos, recovering, and antics, ❤ the channel.
Thank you for the Q&A. Really enjoyed that part of the video. I have recovery gear on me but lack the experience. I run with a great group of people. Still gaining knowledge from the seat time. Cheers folks!
Hi Matt from Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts, a town of under 2000 people and no traffic lights. Good food at Blue Rock restaurant in the center of town. Plus a business specializing in Corvairs! So much to like! Enjoy your time here!
What a great opportunity for Kaitlin! Tearing engines down is a fantastic teaching experience for understanding how to use tools and what the gizmos and gadgets are all about in an engine. I learned my beginning mechanics in the dark with a dead car 40 miles from nowhere with rain running down my back......Time and again......As I got better, my car broke down less often.
Oh yall have nice summer weather, 104° with 4% humidity, that is not bad at all. Try living in GA where its 100° with 90% humidity, thats hot miserable summer weather here!

7:32 Just a couple years ago I was renovating to put an apartment in my house.... I was disassembling some very old hardwear, a regular home 120VAC outlet, but the box was originally made in the t920's, they are a distinctive shape and made of VERY heavy duty gauge steel, or iron. I mentioned to one of the kids, some old electrician installed the new duplex plug with a ground wire in this old box. All four original #6 X 1" wood screws had their slot head aligned horizontally even though they were not visible once the cover plate was on, same with the cover plate screw, and the two 6/32 X 3/4" outlet mounting screws. The 14 gauge copper wires, were perfectly looped in a 360 circle under the terminal screws, precisely bent 2" of free wire under the outlet too! The I saw it, the 14 gauge Romex cable was held by a wire retainer, placed on the INSIDE and tightening nut on the OUTSIDE of the box, to save space, Nobody does that, it's very rare. *I* am the only one I know who mounts wire retainers like that in residential applications. Then it dawned on me why the outlet was so perfectly installed!! *I* had done it for the computer station that used to be there when we first moved in into the house some 25 years earlier!! :)
I had the same but opposite experience working on someone's lighting in the drop ceiling in their basement. I was like "Who in the heck did this garbage? This looks like *I* wired this, temporarily just to get it working." Oh, actually, several years earlier I had wired it, temporarily, just to get it working. Had no memory of it.
Please keep doing the channel. I always look forward to seeing a new MORR show. No filthy language,no drama and just good honest to goodness clean living entertainment. May GOD bless you Matt and your family. May your business remain.
They sell big plastic drain pans that are alot tougher than a kiddie pool, for that. But those kids weren't really trying all that hard to catch the coolant.
The Morrvair, Banana, the Wrecker, the Bombi, those are special. They're really 1 of 1, hand built. I can appreciate those far more than a Lamborghini. It's arrogant to think that Lamborghini is special, I mean to say it's 1 of 1500 others or that it's #2 in a particular state is really stretching it to call something special. The fact that it's twin turbo is nothing that every other youtuber with a Lambo hasn't done repetitively.
To have a Lambo just takes money, to have a Morrvair takes knowledge, experience, creativity, determination, grit, hard work. a lot of people can have a Lamborghini, there's only one Morrvair, (Banana, Bombi, Etc.) and it has to earn its keep.
I'm always impressed by a Corvair owner's ingenuity! I've grown up using "BOB" parts.......Best Off Bench! Aka UOS...Used Old Stock! Love seeing Corvair knowledge shared!

@marcg.3830 literally never heard of him before this video so no I don't think so. I was just saying he's gotta be cool cause he's the first guy to twin turbo a lambo on YT, right?
It's cool because it is a purpose-built from the factory off-road Lambo that has been twin turboed . The only problem I see is the TDS😮 sticker. And it's completely Un-American to hate on anything with turbos!
Ugh I love fan misters when ur at Universal studios in the middle of the day waiting lines for rides in 95°passing those misters fans feels like the best thing ever
Agreed 👍. I started following this channel and subsequently to my hubby for the recoveries. They make everything fun and entertaining, but yes, that's why I watch the channel.
I am not about hating you for growth. Hell yeah brother, you keep on keeping on! The most humble and wholesome "family car" channel on the internet. "Oh no, its going to change." I hope you change and grow! Please grow, please be bigger and better!
I see a big mistake with using OSB in the new shop - it releases toxic fumes when it burns. You don't have minutes to make it out safely if you're inside - you have seconds. Replace it with real plywood. Second thing with OSB is if it gets wet the materials separate and the sheet becomes totally useless.
Welcome to the US. OSB everywhere. Yep, it has all the issues you mention. "But but but... it's cheap!" 🤣 In duplexes we even put up a dual layer OSB wall between units as a firewall 😅
I guess you have not been around osb in a few years. OSB has come a long way in the last 10 years they OSB that can be out in the weather for a year, and it is just like new. They have new glues and coating for them these days. OSB is not what you said it is. Also, you must have not heard that they are putting up drywall on the ways as wells.
@@johnunsicker7440 I put up OSB sheets in houses every month. Yep there's been progress w the glues used. Yet they still release a lot of harmful chemicals when burning. For example, the Virginia Dpt of Fire Programs banned a couple of years ago the use of OSB in house models for firefighter training. Too much exposure to harmful chemicals. And weather performance is still far from the plywood mentioned by the OP. See what happens to a cut edge left outside if not primed, it'll mushroom out fast.
Matt, I and my brothers have owned more Corvairs than I care to admit to! I am really enjoying learning about the details of the engines and the cars, so I am pleased to explore with you! Your videos have given me a view into the whole off-road thing which I never appreciated before. Thanks for sharing with me!!
It's great to how much Katelynn has come along and much she wants to learn and do!! Matt gets soo excited about Corvair stuff!!
And TRUMP 2024!
jakes enthusiasm and great attitude is contagious
Solid color epoxy floors are going to look great in the ol'Shop just remember don't add the chips, youll have a helluva time looking for dropped nuts, bolts and washers.
My bossman just did epoxy with sprinkles. When I drop a nut now I just take bolt and go to nut bin for a new one!!! Then at the end of the day when I sweep I just put old nut in old nuts bin!!!
Add chips, just make them the same color as the floor, the texture is nice for grip, and it helps hide imperfections in the concrete.
I didn't even think about screws and bolts being lost on that floor but you are spot on.

For sure! I said "who ARE you and what did you do with Matt?!!"
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I love Sunday. Return home from church and get to watch Matt and the crew build cool stuff.
Now, there's passion and there's Matt's PASSION for Corvairs and it shows!!! Keep doing your thing Matt!!!
I ponder better sitting down with my eyes closed.
A pr0n bot stole your comment literally word for word.
Hard to make a mistake standing or sitting doing nothing.

I am a big fan of Katelynn.... watching her knowledge grow and Matt's overall knowledge of engines in general but his passion for Corvairs is exceptional. I have respect for that endless amount of what he knows about engines.....always keeps me coming back.
😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
That lambo was sweet!
Enjoyed this. My dad was a mechanic, I grew up in his shop. I always joked that he had forgotten more about cars then I’ll ever know. Thx Matt for wholesome entertainment : )
Always nice to see the moral support specialist peanut on the job
As always peanut knows when an where to stay cool an when someone in the crew needs to stop an pet a dog
Try using a plastic kids pool when draining large engines etc.
Rhett needs focus...you find something he truly passionate about, be it car mechanics, race driving, music, art, design...where ever life leads him...and watch out...when he directs, focuses his passion...🙂🙂unstoppable...
Rhett was working in 110 degree heat. I wouldn't have.
Rhett will find something he’s passionate about and be an expert in it.. he has plenty of time
Absolutely LOVE this channel.
Someone needs to take all those corvair engine parts and construct a statue for matt
I like that suggestion. Maybe a metal robot-style statue or something that could be put at the Top of The World.
Especially that hodge podge scrap engine he made
I build sculpture/ furniture from metal artifacts.....kind of like the junk yard guy in the caroon Iron Giant ...thats a GREAT idea.
Kate, from a fellow woman, keep being awesome ❤
Might be an opportune time for Tom Tom to come and claim Sally ,when Matt's not looking
😂😂😂
Matt, you BADLY need to invest in a vapour honing cabinet for all this Corsair parts.
Yup I am with you!
Wut.
Whomp whomp
I totally agree. Got a lil pit in my stomach when I realized who it was. Then that political sticker peaked into frame.. The pit grew. I hope that's the last time that happens.

Thank you Mat for one more amazing video. God bless you all at MAts Off-Road Recovery. What a great team you have.
That’s my favorite Corvair too.
I need to adopt Rhett's attitude on work flow😂
You can see the determination on Kaitlyns face !

Thank you for minimizing the political messaging. I love this channel in part because it is 100% politics free. Thank you.
The look on Matt's face when he tore into the engine he had built years ago was awesome. Keep up the great videos, recovering, and antics, ❤ the channel.
0:36 look at all those yellow cars in the background. Plenty of years and content in the making right there
I was sleeping and talking out loud answering questions in my dream. I woke myself up. 😂. Well this is a plus at 3:21am in Alaska.

I heartily laughed when you were so excited about discovering your old engine and followed it quickly with it has to go in the scrap bin ! hahahaha
I love Jake filming, he’s so good filming and being on camera

By far one of the best channels on RUclips!
That Raptor is balanced. What a clean jump.
Oh yall have nice summer weather, 104° with 4% humidity, that is not bad at all. Try living in GA where its 100° with 90% humidity, thats hot miserable summer weather here!
Right central FL here 95 with 100% humidity right now we were in moab several years ago in July yes it was hot but tolerable with the low humidity
I live in Augusta, and I whole-heartedly agree with you.
The putting back together is the tuff part.😀
Matt please don’t pay any attention to all the naysayers ,ignore the noise from all the little sheep telling you what to do regarding the new workshop! it’s YOUR DREAM SHOP!congratulations to you.people should be pleased for you, keep up the continued great content🙏
Matt’s off-road is the best!
I respect that you are keeping this channel away from politics.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I always enjoy the Sunday morning shop videos!
I love watching you guys at work and love to see they younger ones learn something new each day. Thank you all so much.
Love all you do, but really miss the actual off road rescues.😎
Please keep doing the channel. I always look forward to seeing a new MORR show. No filthy language,no drama and just good honest to goodness clean living entertainment. May GOD bless you Matt and your family. May your business remain.

Get a “kiddie pool”, to help with draining fluids from a vehicle
And that horrible wrap aint doing it any favors :p
@@mortag87 i loved they barely showed it.
I agree, that is the difference between someone who built their cars and someone who bought their cars!
@@mortag87 Came to say something on it, but your response is good enough. Love MORR, could do with about zero politics on this channel.
Jake is always so positive n full of smiles

Hey Matt. Thank you for your efforts to preserve the Corvair. I love Corvairs. My favorite is the 1963 Corvair Monza Spyder.
The whole MORR-team is such great people , and Matt is the super-dad of the team. ❤
4% humidity sounds like a dream
@JonBlack-YT1 61% where I'm at
Currently 67% in NE Florida 😂
7:53 pm in lower Alabama and it is 80% humidity.
Wow a YTr with a twin turbo lambo...how original
Salty much?!
@@Thedude7750 TDS is what you have, not how you’d describe the sticker!
@Thedude7750 don't hate turbos at all. Just be original. The offroad aspect does give it some cool factor I guess.

Yeah this cross promotion stuff sucks - we want to watch you do recoveries and build stuff
That looks like fancy beetle engine. Say Measure again!!!!!!!!
Rhett is a smoker who doesn't smoke. Break time
I see a big mistake with using OSB in the new shop - it releases toxic fumes when it burns.
"But but but... it's cheap!" 🤣
In duplexes we even put up a dual layer OSB wall between units as a firewall 😅
If any modern construction burns it's toxic...more than OSB.
Two things. Not much risk of water damage in Hurricane and sheet rock gives plenty of time before fire hits the OSB.
(Since the early 60s, I shifted all of my attention to European cars, mostly BMWs and Italian toys. Corvairs were the only American cars I ever completely enjoyed!)
Big kodos to Katlyn. Keep learning and getting involved. That is a great life lesson.
WOW That's a lot of damage
Bombi looks like an absolute unit.
Lambo went to the Buck 50 price point with that wrap on it.
