  • The Emotions on The Scene | The Emotions on The Scene Interview Appearance In 1976
    In 1976 The Emotions dropped by The Scene for an interview appearance. This clip is from that show and features the group (original) at that time. Many have commented about how I never talked to the other ladies. A lot of the groups back then had one spokesperson whom they wanted you to talk to the most, but many are right I was liking her a lot and was in love with their music. #dontjudge

    The Emotions sister were pretty and Sheila the one in the middle she just stood out more. She had a very sophisticated mannerism. The Emotions always reminded me of the other Elegant beautiful sister group called The Jones Girls. The Host was intrigued with Elegant Sheila too.The 1970s were the best decade for meaningful and loving music. A Time Machine needs to be built.

    • @CityfrontDoorStaff
      @CityfrontDoorStaff 3 года назад +4

      @@RJNumber45 , I disagree. The Jones Girls didn't copy. They have been singing since they were little girls also. The difference is they were from Detroit, and the Emotions are from Chicago. The Jones Girls just didn't get the breaks like other groups did. They sang in church with their Mom, Mary Frazier Jones, who taught them how to harmonize. From there, they have backgrounded for SEVERAL artists. They also have a recording contract in the early 70s on the Music Merchant label, part of the stable HOT WAX/INVICTCUS records headed by Holland Dozier Holland after leaving Motown.

      While knowing Sheila was the spokesman of the group, still the job of the interviewer would be to at least acknowledge the entire group. You don't have to be a professional to do that. It's just common courtesy. So yes, could I i have done better? I think most people placed in that situation, would not want a guest to feel left out, or disrespected. If these ladies were guest at your dinner, would you only be up in one of them faces? No because you wouldn't want the others to feel disrespected.

      @@NatMorrisChannel Hopefully, your interviewing technique and skills improved as the show progressed. Based on some of the other comments, it appears as if a lot of other people disliked and rebuked this interview as much as I did!! Stay positive!

      @@edmontriplett6938 He did ignore her and it was a disgraceful interview. I teach journalism and plan to use this video as an example of how NOT to interview someone! Horrible!!

      This was in 1976, lol. Blacks were barely allowed on TV back then, and at WGPR-TV the nations first black TV station, we were learning everything on the job. But like you said, her eyes had him hynotized.
