Shoutout to Skinny and Badger for growing moral backbones during their time in group. Big turning point for both of them.
yea they can be real standup guys when they want to be
It's heart breaking (bad) to see how over the con of them being there you see them start to see the bad they are doing.
You're forgetting that those two are the best hitmen west of the Mississippi
Saul is unhinged in this episode, I love it 😂
Beautiful death grips pfp
"Walt's a scientist. Scientists love lazers." Lol. A bit of strained reasoning, Saul.
Hang on... you've met a scientist who doesn't love lazers? I call bullsh!t.
@@thedarkemissary TRU
This is the moment where Jesse becomes a distinguished art critic
"I think I threw up in my mouth a little" is a heck of a thing for Jane to say
Jesse is actually popular with women. Remember how he is introduced in the first episode with the nude woman?
Skyler: "What is a MILF?"
Good point!
Doesn't make more sense just because the writers make it happen multiple times though.
@@Renoistic it does establish that within the Breaking Bad universe Jessie does 'got game'. If you don't find it believable that's more a problem with the writing or the acting, both of which won tons of awards over the years.
Jesse definitely doesn’t have game, he’s just hot lol 😂
300 for a teenth is not only for the quality of the blue meth but also from how much of a corner Gus has on the local market.
That's almost $78K a pound. 200lbs a week is $15 million
You shouldn't be surprised that Jesse got pull, in the very first episode when the raid is going on he's across the street and the topless chick throwing his clothes down to him through the window definitely wasn't bad looking.
My boy jessie wielding and dealing.
But he's also grimy desparate and will pound Wendy on a bender 😂
He’s just a hot guy in New Mexico. Look at his competition?
I thnk it's annoying that people forget that Skyler is ALREADY criminally liable because of Walt's actions, the only way she can avoid that is to double down with Walt
Her Lawyer gave her an out and Walter gave her the Divorce papers, but she needed the money and feared for her family so she stayed, Skylar is also a Criminal, not of the grade of people like Walter, Saul, Mike and Jesse but certainly a criminal, all these characters were put in bad situations and they choose the criminal course of action, there is a certain sympathy to be awarded to all these characters but we need to remind ourselves that they chose the road that lead them down that path and they harmed countless people on their way.
Nah, bro. She's had a million outs. They starting to understand why people hate Skylar the most.
Nah, she feels like she has no choice because of what might happen to their little family if Walt is caught, or if they piss off their 'benefactor', but there is always a choice. She just decided she'd rather double down than taking that risk. It's not an easy choice of course, but unlike Walt she's not doing half-measures at this point. Like every character in the show she has massive flaws and that's fine, it all makes for a great show. No need to be weird about it like certain people.
Or…..
No, she's just a control freak. The only reason their marriage used to work is because she could control Walt and he was too passive to care.
I'm still holding Arianna accountable for being super uber Gus. That bandwagon ain't pulling over for shit!
No, it's worse than that, Gus has a kitchen island AND a breakfast bar. That's that billionaire-cartel-level type shit.
Remember when they hated Skinny Pete and Badger? lol
This show will do that to you, I hated badger when he started firing arrows at jessie.
they hate every character in this show bruh😂
I hate them both until they end. Dumb, annoying, childish, generally scummy.
“Never make the same mistake twice “ cuts to Jesse
Combo gets killed -> Hank discovers the photo with Combo and Jesse-> Hank follows Jesse and the RV -> Hank loses his job because of him punching Jesse -> Walt brings back Jesse in order to keep him quiet -> Jesse sees this opportunity to steal and sell in the meetings -> He forms a relationship with Andrea from the meetings -> Jesse finds out Andrea's brother shot Combo. A perfect circle.
Saul has a thing for blondes ;) lol
Jessie tries to be the bad guy, tries to be the thug, but fails every time.
I am already looking forward to you two watching Better Call Saul.
Yeah! Please, do that after finishing Breaking Bad.
El Camino in between!
@@TheMerovingienne That's right!
I want them too, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be too slow paced for them. I love the show but I tell everyone that the first 2 seasons are slow world building. 456 are where it starts to feel like breaking bad
Have you ever met a person in real life with perfect internal consistency? Not everything people do has to be perfectly traceable. Jesse is dealing with a lot of feelings. He doesn't know how to cope. He tries being a baddie, but it doesn't fit him. That's partly why it is so cringe. When he reacts to Andrea, it's because he's angry at himself and trying to redirect/cover up his own wrong-doing. This is one of the things that makes this show great. The characters aren't cookie-cutter characters with contrived and nicely packaged arcs. It's messy, it's frustrating, it's painful, just like real life!
PS: he's had game from the beginning of the show. The first time we see Jesse, he's sneaking out of married woman's bedroom.
I agree 100%
Each (adult) character was purposely written to have flaws.
Walter’s major flaw is his ego.
Skyler’s is a control freak.
Jesse is self destructive.
Hank hides his inner fears and anxiety with humor and bravado.
Marie is a bit self destructive, and has major OCD.
Saul is hiding a lot of pain behind his alter ego.
Holly poops on herself and Walter Jr says "Stang" unironically. They're all flawed.
@@seanyoung9014 haha
I want to be like saul, his smarts, his wit. Dude is a role model for living that fast life.
They're not supposed to know that about Saul yet!
And Wendy likes giving Wendys
Cant wait a goddamn week for half measures
Jesse not only wants to get back at these guys for his friend but more importantly he doesn't like them using the kid to do such bad things it is harming the kid mentally
My fuckin hero
I'll agree with the point that Jesse is displaying a lot more game with Andrea than he's displayed in the past with Wendy the s3x worker and with Jane. But in Jesse's defense while he was pressuring Andrea to use, he himself is completely clean at the time of this episode. He's wearing cleaner clothes, he looks healthier, smells better.. He's also better off financially which has got to help his self confidence too. And self confidence is a real game changer in and of itself.
Seeing the kid snapped him out of it because no one harms a kid
No one decent anyway
@@OwnYourBaldSpot yeah, what I mean is to Jesse no one harms a kid and gets away with it he will protect a kid as much as he can
Welcome Skysenberg.
The kid (Tomas) says 300 for the teenth because he sees Jesse(Cleaner clothes, no open sores on his face, no noticeable sleep deprivation symptoms and knows he is not a junkie, more like a weekend warrior. Because of that he knows that he can strong arm him and jack the price up. Tomas knows there is absolutely nothing Jesse can do about it, and he will either buy for $300 or never come back.
Yep.
This is probably Jesse at his most despicable. I really hated him at this point, but he has his positive points and kids are one of them. Its not just the ATM kid. We saw how he acted with his own little brother. His anger at the end of the episode is not just because they killed his friend but also because they are using kids to deal and kill.
My hero academia
Jesse has the most moral compass of this ring, unfortunately, it has lead him to so much sacrifice and his doom.
He sells meth. That's like excusing mobsters who donate to charities.
@@thedarkemissary Who excused anything? Work on your reading comprehension, Chuckles.
Maple, you are ok?
You said good things about Walter.😮
It's that science rizz.
that Twilight edit lmaoooo
19:44 I can’t believe that line didn’t get a laugh. One of the funniest things I’ve ever heard considering how bob odenkirk looks like a discount Kevin Costner
Jesse's fall is kinda wild when you consider how he's romanticizing the past. He blames himself for getting Jane back on drugs, when really, she got him on heroin. He was her excuse to dive back in. She was always gonna relapse. She lied to her father in every scene she appeared with him. Jesse was too attracted to Jane to see she was an awful person. Because he put her on a pedestal, he feels all the more guilty, when he shouldn't.
Even more wild when you realize what he's actually doing to Andrea is what he perceived he did to Jane. And the two women couldn't be anymore different. Again, wild!
Thank you, everyone is on Walts ass for calling her his junkie girlfriend but my man was calling it as he saw it. I love Jane and Jessie but she was bad news bears
Dude you hit the nail on the head. Bravo
32:31 I’m surprised you guys don’t see how Jesse could get chicks. He’s a hot guy in New Mexico (very rare).
Plus he hasn’t hooked up with a non addict as far as we know. Andrea is a single mom in early recovery she’s super vulnerable to any form of external validation.
Always appreciate these long discussions. Thank you M&A!
I think she forgot the very first moment we saw Jesse he was literally falling out of a window after sleeping with a neighbor so we've seen from day one that he has game
We’ve seen his “game”, it’s awful. He’s just a hot guy. That’s often enough
Saul is manic in this episode, absolutely perfect.
The Kevin Costner line is absolutely hilarious
The thing is Skyler is not a ride or die she is a cover her behind and get everything she wants type of girl she literally did it with the other boss as well😭😭
36:45 Jesse isn’t really making money?
He’s making more than he ever could’ve reasonably expected.
I cant believe neither one of you didn't notice that Hank has on purple pajama pants
As someone who had to relearn to walk 2 years ago... its a biatch. One day youre normal you can walk, run and go up stairs, the other youre like a disabled 90 years old who cant walk 30 feet without almost fainting.
Fantastic analysis this week girls, I love your company for these shows- really appreciate you
I think Jesse's remarks about her doing drugs while being a mom is a callback to the episode with the junkies and the criminally ignored kid back in s2.
It also speaks to how he judges and acts holier than though sometimes despite his actions being that of a piece of S** or at best a dumby
That advise gus made to walter about never making the same mistake twice ,its
Definitely toward jesse , he wants him out the buisness
again u didnt notice the purple blanket on Hanks hospital bed
51:34 so to be clear, Skylar feels justified committing to a life of crime because her family needs money for healthcare costs….
….hmmm 🤔
She is already criminally liable by him being there with her knowledge of the crime.
I think Gus's advice of "never make the same mistake twice" is more specifically in regards to Jesse, and the decision to continue trusting and working with Jesse. Gus is no fool, and probably already has started to suspect that Jesse is up to no good.
I hope yall are ready for the next 3 episodes... it's about to be crazy!
the inter-actions between Skylar and Saul are SO entertaining!!!
So my boy Jessie was pulling baddies in the pilot. If you recall, the only reason he wasn't busted with them other two fools was because he was laying down the businesse with the neighbor and that's how Walt spotted him.
“Is that you talking? Or Yoko Ono?” I love the Beatles reference, makes me crack each time. 😂
Maple is way to quick guessing the story. Love it
"Be bad with Walt! Be bad with Walt!"
This is really the turning point of the whole show imo
HE CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS!
That's why I love the Fly episode; it's the halfway point
😂
My favorite part is when Skyler joins forces with Walter and Saul so she could snatch Ted out of the IRS HQ, only to realize it was a scheme from Walt all along so he could have his dream threesome
Spoiler alert:
Jesse’s decision to go after the dealers is the most significant domino that caused all of the tragic consequences to come. All of the deaths can be traced back to that decision.
Had he not done that Gus wouldn’t have soured on them.
Jadd J.A.D.D. Jadd
Watching you guys go through the series is how I went through the first time. All the feels and emotions are a roller coaster ride.
Jesse is genuinely caring, even if he does have an evil streak going
Jesse's "I'm the bad guy" routine is like a suit that doesn't really fit. It's given him a role to play for a while to distract from grief and deeper self-reflection, but it's not gonna last.
Manipulation: Gus is a master manipulator who often uses psychological tactics to achieve his goals. Mentioning a family could be a calculated move to gain Walter’s respect or cooperation. Since Walter himself has children, Gus might believe that appearing as a family man would create a bond or sympathy between them.
2:57 "Allright, Hank. Hang in there...I mean, see ya."
I love the long ass discussions!
This episode is like the calm before the storm..
this is the skin of a chemist, jesse
It was good to see a flashback of Jane (Krystin Ritter) in this episode. One of the most heartbreaking deaths of a character in any television series I have ever seen.
Jesse doesn’t have a “fall”, he’s a consistently incredibly stupid person..really..really..Really..stupid! Every time I revisit watching this series, my opinion of Jesse gets lower. Walt can be considered “evil” by the end, but he consistently saved Jesse, whereas Jesse turns on him as soon as it’s convenient, and Walt literally saved Jesse’s life over and over…
Saul and Varrick from Korra need a five minute conversation, I just have to see that 😂
Never make the same mistake twice = Walt being soft on Jesse (and I agree with Gus here).
Also the way the drug deal was set up was clever. The underage kid can't serve time for holding or soliciting. So he makes the deal and carries the meth. The actual gang bangers stay out of sight and only roll up to collect the money (which is difficult to tie to a crime, I guess).
Colorado vibes
“Your best course of action” 😮😮😮🤐🤐🤐
Yall HAVE to watch Better Call Saul next!
You're in luck!
@@Diegesis yay!
The great thing about the show is that you can hate ever character (I did) but the writing still makes it compelling to watch.
That's what I like about all the characters., they have multiple dimensions to them. The world is far from black and white.
But reductive false dichotomies make not-thinking effortless...
You’re gonna LOVE better call Saul!!🙌🏻
To be fair, alcohol which is legal of course, causes the most problems in our society. Not even close.
Domestic abuse, car crashes, bar fights, and so on. All life claiming shit. Nonstop I might add. Like as I write this.
Drug and alcohol abuse can sometimes have a synergistic relationship with social ills. If someone starts using recreational drugs as relief for life's aggravations, and such emotions are chronic, then habitual dependencies can develop before chemical ones. Moreover, being in an altered state of mind to escape painful thoughts and emotions can leave a person impaired with tasks that might not seem as dangerous when sober.
Mostly because it's so widespread
Meth heroin etc do a hell of a lot more damage than liquor
@@cpob2013
No that's just not correct. Alcohol is the king of all our problems. Alcohol is almost always involved in bad incidents. Other drugs here and there. But Alcohol destroys everything.
You’re not wrong, but an alcoholic shouldn’t drink either.
If you’re a normie have fun experiment who cares. If you’re an addict it’s going to get you killed or in prison at best.
I was wondering if the opioid epidemic had outpaced the alcohol death toll (which has been going on a lot longer and more consistently), but nope, apparently a recent study says even in 2020 alcohol still supreme among lethal substances in the US.
Glad you finally came to your senses, Maple! Only blind acceptance of Walter's horrific & unjustifiable actions will be tolerated.
Hank is by far the best character in the show. He may say some off the wall shit but he 100% means well. An honest family man who wants to do the moral thing and refuses to burden others
Hank is a self righteous idiotic impulsive blowhard. On top of that he's a hypocrite
From the moment he sympathized with Walt during the intervention, I was always Team Hank.
Imagine if walt and gus had an affair
😂😂😂
Putting Jesse to the ATM is shortcutting it. Jesse is a big brother to Jake. That's where all of this shit comes from, he love his brother.
Seeing how the girls react to Saul I really hope they end up reacting to Better Call Saul at some point after they finish BB.
Kids are Jessie's kryptonite. And that's likely the only thing that keeps him somewhat morally centered.
Exactly. You have to be at least 16 to buy his meth. That's always been his motto.
@@thedarkemissary😂
not to be a huge Skyler Truther, but it's not like she *just now* decided to be involved with Walt's criminality - HE implicated HER from the moment he started paying for his cancer treatment with drug money. i get the whole "just take the money!" angle bc ur watching the show for the first time, but it's important to remember that she is entirely the victim of Walt's actions for the majority of the series up to this point, and is only now exercising *some* level of agency in paying for Hank's treatment (which is in/directly Walt's fault anyway) and influencing Walt towards the car wash. the divorce lawyer asked if she had a solid understanding of their financial situation and she hadn't until then bc he still had his teaching job and said he was paying for treatment with Gretchen and Elliot's money. She was a pregnant woman in her late 30s/early 40's staring down the barrel of being a single mother drowning in debt from her husband's cancer treatment, worrying about him all the time and calling around to local morgues when he went missing, only to find out he'd been lying and putting his family at risk to be a meth cook. The cousins were about to murder this man with an axe in his home, and i'm sure wouldn't have hesitated if Skyler/Walter Jr. were there first. her involvement now is her dealing with the bad situation her husband got her into with as much agency and doing as much good (paying for Hank's treatment) as she can, but it's not like she was given a choice to be involved - Walt made her (and his whole family) accessories after the fact BECAUSE he doesn't think about things as thoroughly as Skyler does, and because his pride is so wrapped up in cooking. she can't just shut up and take the money because now that she knows the truth, she's trying to think 3 steps ahead to make the story hold up, which Walt very much doesn't do.
for people who are fully caught up on the show, The Take has a pretty interesting series of videos on BB, including character analyses of Walt, Skyler, Jesse, Gus, etc.
SKYSENBERG.
Finally team Walter white.. maple I'll tell you now you made the right decision n jt won't back fire.
Just like hating cersei in games of thrones and by the end you end up loving her
49:34 i like them all 😂
I've never seen anyone else so critical of Breaking Bad 😂 It would be interesting to see them react to Better Call Saul, I suppose they would have no problem empathizing with the characters there.
What does this accusation even mean?? They're critical of the actions of characters in Breaking Bad that are WRITTEN TO BE DOING BAD THINGS haha. How is that critical of the show overall?
(Not saying they don't sometimes have criticisms of the show itself, but I see a slew of people in these comments confusing "critical of character" with "hating character" and "critical of character" with "critical of writing", it's freaking nonstop.)
@@jerodast First of all, calm down, if you want to discuss that, look for another comment because mine was not at all with bad intentions. And they ARE often critical of the show, when I see someone criticizing the characters and their decisions more than enjoying the story and then basically explaining that they cannot connect with the characters or understand how they are written like that, for me it is quite critical of the show. And that's okay, I'm not insulting them either, it's just that it catches my attention because I've never heard anyone else think that way about Breaking Bad and because for me the series is so well written that you can connect and feel sorry for the characters even when they commit the worst acts. I guess it has to do with connecting, just that, and that's why I recommend Better Call Saul, which I think is a more suitable series for them. That's all.
The COMPLETE lack of benefit of the doubt y'all have been giving Jesse the last few episodes has me cracking up
Benefit of doubt in regards to what? What should be they giving him that for? The dude is actively trying to sell to addicts in recovery
