Thank you. VW provides no instructions, expects customers to pay big bucks to have it changed. 10 minutes, no tools, your video and done.

+Tom Loebig , This x100. These videos have saved my life

This was extremely helpful! I am in no way mechanically inclined but was able to successfully replace the cabin filter on my 2009 EOS. Thank you!
New to your channel and company but you have already saved me hundreds in parts and labor...thanks for what you do!
+NKYGunGuy awesome glad we could help!
So helpfull. Did this in 5 mins on a 2008 golf gt.
Thanks for the great guide!
Good job. Clear & well filmed. Thanks.
Simple and straightforward, good video!
I really appreciate your videos. They've really helped me on my a jetta wagon I bought that I've been doing work on. I'm going to check my air filter today!
Elijah Rich Awesome so glad we could help. Let us know if we can help with any of your VW parts needs.
Thank you for the video! Definitely something I can handle on my own and have not pay $$$ for someone else to do it
Thnx for the video. My Jetta's filter had a stench smell to it. Took it out and clear all the dust and insects. Added some perfume to the filter and no more stench smell when I switch on the air cond.
Excellent info. Now I know how to replace the filter. Great job
Thank you so much, that helped me to change my filter.
Straight forward clear instructions thanks much.
Thanks you saved my $25 in labour.
+Ted G glad we could help
very helpful and well presented, thank you.
good video I change mines this morning took me about 10 minutes but I got it correct
Thanks for the video. It's almost identical in the Tiguan. I took mine out today and vacuum cleaned it. Gotta check when it as last replaced but maybe I could squeeze another 10k on the same filter?
Simple. Thank you. 2008 VW Rabbit. Only needed the first 1:01 of the 2:58 recorded - plus a flashlight :)
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Great video. The filter I replaced was extremely dirty
Very helpful, I was done in five minutes!
+Doug Price Glad we could help. Thanks for the purchase. We appreciate it very much.
+Deutsche Auto Parts, what purchase? did I purchase something? I hope not!
Doug Price Sorry we thought you purchased your cabin filter from us.
Facil y sencillo muchas gracias!!
Great video THANK YOU!
Thank you kindly! Very helpful
Awesome. Thanks so much for this video. I will be changing this out tomorrow, but one question: is the K & N Air Filter equivalent to the VW stock air filter, besides the reusability factor?
Thanks guys, very helpfull.
Excellent video ! ! To think I wasted 5 minutes of my life watching some guy's crappy (verticle) phone video of how to do this!!!
+Hard Rock Master Awesome. Glad we could help
yes it did help me alot, thank you
Great Job!!!
Thank you again!
mk3 93-99.5 jetta 2.0l and 2.8l do not have cabin airfilters. but there is a place to put one. it is located under the hood next to the passenger side. there is a plastic cover with two tabs which can be removed. if you remove the plastic cover and airfilter from a mk4 it will fit exactly where the mk3 has a empty plastic cover on the passenger side near the window. now you have a cabin airfilter.
Did my 2012 Tiguan thanks to this diy. Was stuck not knowing you have to push the cover to get the filter out
Thanks for the video! But how I remove the glove compartment at VW Touran 2004. Can you help me?
Thanks ! Is there a center console armrest that fits my 2013 VW Beetle convertible ?
The way the filter goes in is different for left and right hand cars.
Much thanks!
I did a cabin air install today on a 2013 Jetta. My replacement filter was paper on the edges. The one in the video appeared to be rubber. Anyway, the paper one I installed was not as flexible as the one with a rubber edge, and so, getting it up into the slot, well, it seemed I almost deformed it pushing it up into the hole.
The foam piece I put back fit correctly with the VW date facing away.
+Hard Rock Master The one used here is an OEM part. There are likely to be tons of different materials used depending on if you went with an aftermarket part. Thanks for the feedback we appreciate it.
Danke schön sir
Thanks for the succinct video but unfortunately for me it does not cover 2010 VW Routan. I can't even locate where it is on the Van. Thanks to let me know
Paulo
You saved a family of 4 from my filthy mouth with this video. One meaningless internet point goes to you.
Thanks you
you could have made an extra $3.99 to replace the two plastic retaining screws for the foam pad. thanks for the upload. I don't own a VW, but these videos are pretty universal.
I recently dropped my dashcam's microsd card inside my Jetta 2016 model. I cldn't find it and suspect it cld have been sucked into the aircon ducts. Is there a way I cld locate them and perhaps take a look to see if my microsd card is there?
Thanks for the video! How often would you say it should be replaced? Of course it depends on air particles in the area, weather etc
+Ross Miller every 20k
I have a VW 2006 Passat 2.0T but I cannot see the pollen filter as shown in the video. Where is it?
Paid my dealer 150 total for my Passat's 20k mile service. Oil change, tire rotation and cabin filter change and of course all the "checks". Probably 75 at the most for the DIY.
How do you change the cabin airfilter in a mark 3 1998 vw glx Vr6 2.8l. can't find the filter.
fold the cover. pull off the lif. remove the filter. shove the new one in left to right. put the lid back on. unfold cover. takes 5 seconds. i see so many people at my shop still dont understand how quick this is lol. noe the mk7 are a little different with pulling the glove box down but still its easy
great!
is it possible to install backwards? or would it not fit that way? I could just open it up and check again but writing this comment was quicker ;)
Hello!! If something falls into de middle vent, is there any place where I can recover the falling piece??
😮 my car did not have one on 🤣
Does it reduce the steam in Windows as well
Question: Anyone know how to set the RNS315 to have bluetooth media start playing on car startup instead of using the normal fm/am station?
Hey guys thank you for the videos ..! But for MK7 GTI is completely different the way it has to be replaced, is actually a little more complicated than Mk6 GTI ..!
+El Chero Yup. We plan on a MK7 one in the future
thanksssss
Golf mk4 2005 don't have pollen filters?
EXACTLY as in video...
Where is the cabin air intake vent for a CC? Theres a vent on the passenger side below the windshield but that one blows air out.
Do you have a video with ECU on vw Passat cc
is this apply for vw scirocco too?
but is it a high flow filter?
Is this the same for a 2007 Volkswagen rabbit?
kevin morales Yes
How about on a 2007 city golf? I was told at two auto parts stores that it was in this location. Popped the foam piece off and nothing there.
Joe Klassen golf city i believe is an MK4 not mk5. So yours should be located under the hood in passenger side.
Is there a cabin filter on a VW golf city ?
I have a 2013 Jetta SEL, is my Cabin air filter going to be located under the glove box as well?
jenellej03 Yes!
would this be the same on a 2008 eos?
Connor Moore Yes
Can you please make a video for the MK7 GTI ??
i Found it behind the glove box, but i am not able to remove it...
Alshamsi We do intend to do one on the MK7 in the future.
That would be great!
Do you have a video for MK6 Golf?
Process is the same
Anyone know where I can find the plastic mount and the foam mount?
To buy? Vw parts.com
A simple job on the MKV. The same job on an MKIV is a pain in the a** because of the location of the filter.
My filter seems to be soaked and has been leaking. Any clue as to what is cause that?
Did you found out why it was soaked?
👏👌👍
i have a mk3 gti,,,,is it the same location ?
its in the left side(right drive seat car)under the hood, car in front perspective
where is this located on the current MK7 golf? I tried opening it and it's not there
We have not taken ours apart yet but its in the same place but it looks like it comes out different. It will either be higher up or possibly have to come out of the cowl.
It s in the glove box!
Watching this and recalling what my long time vw dealership charges to replace the intake cabin filter makes me want to puke. They would charge $149.99 for the filter and replacement. I just did it in my driveway for $10.34 and about 7min of time. Would have been faster if one of those little plastic screws wasn't stripped.
What happens if u don't change that ?
You are going to get badly filtered air in your cabin: a filter is there for a purpose! Ask yourself theses questions: what if I never go to a hairdresser, shave my beard or bathe? (= you will look like a primate and everybody will run form you!); what if I do not eat for a whole year? (=you will starve, become like skinny like a skeleton and, finally, die!); what if I do not pee after drinking a complete jug of milk? (=your bladder will explode from pressure and you will die!); finally, what if I never change the oil of the engine of my car? (= after 15k miles the car will start to cough, to loose power, to emit bizzare sounds, to insanly shake, to dangerously rattle... and, one morning, will die on you on the road...End of story!). So now, you understand why you should change your cabin filter (the funny exmples are meant to make you smile :) and enjoy you day!).
Aziz HACHIMI so badly filtered air in cabin got it 😂😂😂😂thank you 😂😂😂😂
You are more than welcome, Sire!
those screws normally just fall out over time
Could vw have made a more flimsy filter..
Never had these useless things back in the day..l
