sword skill in one piece : in the anime when the scabbards tried to perform paradise totsuka, there appeared a flashback of oden saying to them i'll teach you oden's two sword style then proceeded to explain ryuo to them firsthand, instantly after this kinemon said to kaido "we polished our sword skills to save the land of wano today" then performed the technique (ep1004) on another spot, zoro asking mihawk "teach me the way of the sword" then mihawk proceeded to teach him haki another one, Rayleigh saying "observation haki is the power to feel another's presence to an elevated degree" and mihawk at baratie saying "if you're a competent swordsman, you don't need to cross swords to know the difference between us" meaning the greater haki you have the more competent of a swordsman you are by mihawk's saying another, sukiyaki telling zoro that enma exudes its wielders ryuo on its own and slices more than needed then zoro saying "so by the time i'm used to this it'll mean i've gotten that much stronger?", let alone the fact that mihawk is taming the greatest sword in the world not just enma another, rayleigh saying conqueror's is found in the type of people who make a name for themselves on a global scale, and king saying "so you intend to be a king then" after seeing zoro's conqueror's, what do you think about someone who's already sitting up there? rayleigh also saying "THE REAL ADVANCEMENT IN HAKI HAPPENS DURING EXTREME USE IN BATTLE, THE STRONGER FOES YOU FACE WITH THIS POWER THE STRONGER YOU'LL BECOME WITH IT", and whitebeard saying "many consider them as legends, the duals between you and hawkeye", and as we already know shanks used to fight mihawk up to his 27yo and both made each other's haki way stronger according to the rule, until the moment of losing an arm and gaining a disadvantage at swords playing, the same moment mihawk deciding to stop trying to settle things respecting his swordsmand's code and honor main point is, only a dumb one would say "skill is just the way you swing a sword" and try to separate Haki from a swordsman's skill in the one piece verse

Zoro didn't get stronger through honing his "sword skills" by twirling his sword with better finesse, haki (ACOC) was the game-changer that upped him to the next level to allow him to defeat King. And him controlling and honing his haki better going forward is going to make him even stronger. The problem with all this comes down to the simple question and answer: How does one become the world's strongest swordsman? By defeating in a sword duel, the current holder of the title. To use the terminology KOL used, if Mihawk is 100 with an 85 sword skill and 15 everything else lost to Shanks, who is a 101 with a 25 sword skill and 76 everything else, because his overall pie is bigger even though his sword skill is lower, would Shanks be the WSS? If you answer yes, then either Mihawk has to be stronger than Shanks and Roger or a swords duel doesn’t include haki. If you answer no, then you're going against the story that specifically told us you become the strongest by defeating the current title holder.
I like you point but I do have one issue with it. The logic implies that the previous worlds strongest swords man was also the strongest character in the world (because your saying that mihawk has to be the strongest because he defeated the strongest to become WSS) and I don’t think the story has put a very big emphasis on strong characters wanting to become WSS other than zoro. So there isn’t really any explicit evidence that it is the case but who knows.
@@23TDJ What is this logic? Mihawk became worlds strongest swordsman after Roger died. And Shanks has not Dueled Mihawk in 12 years. There is nobody who has challenged Mihawk for the title in over a decade.
The part where zoro says he might actually die, when he says enma his draining him to that extent…. We can safely assume, that what Yoru might be like, and we need to see the distance between Yoru and enma, which isn’t even a supreme grade !! to handle which Zoro is pushed to utmost limit, while the mastery and having that sword obey him as an extension of himself effortlessly is still a thing which he has to work on with Enma. All of this is there to suggest what wielding a sword is like, as Shimostuki Kozaburo explained how swords are each with a personality of its own!! Watching enma drain Zoro was a crazy scene !! And I can’t believe that its Zoro who’s having this much trouble and he just barely gripped the sword ! Along those lines and by simple logic, that means Mihawk must be crazy crazy crazy powerful wielding that monster of sword, for Zoro himself said thats he’s about die, not cuz of fighting King or some injury or anything else, but just cuz he is trying to tame that sword !!! Its the freakin sword, therefore someone even stronger than Zoro , just think !! Even STRONGER THAN ZORO might actually even die, just trying to tame Yoru ! and again mastering the sword and other things are then again whole another ordeal… Oda’s made sure you cant wield these swords without EXTREME base power, so this should settle the base power debate !!
Haki is a synonymous with Swordsmanship! It’s what creates tiers and pushes you to the upper echelon of swordsmanship specifically. the fact that no one that has a black blade doesn’t have Haki should tell you that. But Wano Haki is a separate thing bc it’s just highlights their specific outlook. That doesn’t mean that it wasn’t learned outside of Wano. You explanation doesn’t make a case for Haki and swordsmanship not being synonymous. Your explanation is more of a separation of tiers of raw sword skill.
I just know this video is going to be full of bias, any chance KOL gets to downplay Zoro he will take. In this case it’s via Mihawk, while also using it to slobber Shanks. This all stems from his love of Sanji and a need to make him equal to Zoro by any means possible 😂 Merry Christmas KOL and everyone 🎉 PS I see Mihawk and Shanks as comparable
There’s literally zero proof that zoro is stronger than Sanji and even if he’s stronger with 3 swords zoro still needs 3 swords he’s a fraud Sanji beats him for sure if Zoro uses 2 swords only And none of what you have to say would be proof that zoro is stronger you know what proof actually means ? Cause you zoro fans don’t know what it means there’s literally no one that argues about aokiji being stronger than akaino why ? Because there’s actually proof that Akainu beat him in a fight we can’t say the same for zoro and Sanji As long as Sanji and zoro never have a fight and Oda never says himself zoro is stronger because he never said that even when asked point blank in an sbs People who have the opinion of zoro and Sanji being equal in power are valid and it’s not like they’re never portrayed as being equals cause they have been portrayed like that multiple times throwout the series

Probably the worst takes I’ve ever seen on this subject. The kanji used to describe Mihawk’s title is “ Saikyou” which means “ the strongest”. That means unless shown otherwise, we can assume Mihawk>Shanks. To make matters worse, sword skill is directly associated with power and haki. Zombie Ryuuma, who had no haki, was ultimately an inferior swordsman to Zoro. Yet Alive Ryuuma was considered a Sword God and turned shusui into a permanent black blade. Also, no such thing as a haki man. Haki is directly tied to swordsmanship, read through Wano again.
man the cope shanks fans need to argue anything is crazy. they a bit rabid since rayleigh matched shanks “big haki feat” in about 5 seconds of screentime
The Shanks vs Mihawk debate ended when Mihawk was introduced as the World's Strongest Swordsman and then directly as Shanks' rival. His title isn't the world's most skilled swordsman, it's the world's STRONGEST swordsman. The fact of the matter is that MIhawk has never been injured in the entire story, Shanks has on multiple occassions, and Mihawk has never used a named attack, Shanks has. Oda is obviously saving Mihawk's true strength for EOS. Haki is not seperate from swordsmanship. Zoro's first significant buff in the series was in Alabasta when he learned haki, specifically as a swordsman technique. Most of the top haki users in the story are swordsmen. In Wano, the best swordsmen are the ones who can channel ryou aka haki into their swords. Mihawk is introduced with a black blade which is specifically a haki feat. When Zoro trained under Mihawk, Mihawk taught Zoro haki specifically. Both people who trained Luffy in haki (Rayleigh and Hyogoro) are swordsmen. Haki is more connected to swordsmen than anyone else in the series. There's not narrative reasoning for Shanks being above Mihawk. Mihawk is Zoro's final goal, Shanks is not Luffy's final goal. Surpassing Shanks is PART of his goal, but it's not the end of it. Luffy wants to become King of the Pirates, and his main opponent for that will be Blackbeard, not Shanks. Not only that, but Imu is also looking increasingly like a final villain. Therefore, Shanks only needs to be a hype tool for Blackbeard who might not even be Luffy's final opponent anyway, and that doesn't necessitate him being stronger than Mihawk at all. Shanks is not Roger. Roger was the King of the Pirates, Shanks is not and he never will be.
Actually… this probably won’t happen, and I hated the whole ZKK thing, but Zoro vs Shanks? I could see it. When Luffy was a kid one of his brags was “My crew will be better than yours. How much of a power move would it be for Luffy to say to Shanks “I don’t even have to deal with you. My crew’s so good, my first mate can handle you.”
@@MrYondaime705 I did. If shanks is stronger than Mihawk, all Zoro’s training, his growth in power and haki and the dream he had from the start of the story is worth nothing. Mihawk(Worlds strongest swordsman) is stronger than Shanks(a Swordsman) its that simple, The entire concept behind mihawks character is that hes the worlds strongest swordsman, thats his only reason for existing in the narrative. There is no possible argument to find that favours shanks, only thing you could do is try prove he isnt a swordsman(which is impossible because he is)

awesome video man! you really broke it down masterfully and I totally agree with you in all regards. I do however think the reason why Mihawk's blade is black and not Shanks' or any other swordsman currently is because Mihawk imbued Yoru with haki way more than anyone else. Not that he necessarily needed to do so in order to win a fight, but he still did, whereas Shanks and Zoro don't do it as often / use it as a finisher, and Mihawk just did it on a regular basis until it became black. Which is still a very impressive feat definitely, but still not a definitive argument as to why Mihawk would be stronger than Shanks just because his sword is black.
The truth is. It's stated in Mihawk's vivre card that he beat EVERY swordsman until there were none left. Shanks was drawn in an SBS with only swordsmen and Shanks was there. Oda was apart of this. This is all proof that Mihawk > Shanks. Fix your reasoning mate.
@@TocattaTotentanzMacabrelol in viver card its also stated that vista is equal to mihawk and that wb is the strongest man even during rodger era but we know both are false
Perhaps the main reason Mihawks portrayal is not as sturdy as Shanks at this point of time, is cause beating Mihawk is an endgame goal. He still the main goal of the, arguably, 2nd most important character of the series. Beating Shanks was never the Main Goal of Luffy, it is probably one of the requirements to get there, but not the main goal.
Nah Shanks is a swordsman. Mihawk is the better swordsman but that doesn't mean Shanks is weaker than Mihawk. Also Mihawk is not weak himself, this is the guy who travels the grandline both paradise and the new world on his own.
@@FirepunchHDliterally doesn’t mean anything if shanks is stronger overall …if Mihawk was so much stronger than shanks he would’ve beat him every single time during their “legendary duels”😂

zoro didn’t know about himself having conquerers haki at all. Mihawk didn’t teach him all to much about it. The haki that Mihawk taught zoro was very specific to only the sword itself. And also the intention of an attack. Shanks has always been shown to be referenced to haki in general it’s a goofy statement “haki man” but people think it for a reason

@@tunnelvision7906 He had to have taught him. There's no other way to answer how Zoro knew about and could accurately recognize conquerors haki back in fishman island. Zoro before that point never saw it from anyone and has never been told about it. The only possible answer is Mihawk. Where else could Zoro have learned it from? It's possible Zoro was just confused at Kaido proclaiming he used conquerors since Zoro used it subconsciously. Kaido was telling him he used a power he didn't think he had. That's possibly why he was confused.
Kol is so full of himself when always pushing Shanks above all else he might as well be a politician. Him going into tactical details to break the meaning and points he stated in this video is just assumption when Oda never even state out right who is the strongest. Me personally Shanks and Mihawk are equal, but Kol is trying to power scale in the series between 2 top tiers when the plot is king in the series. Power scaling in OP has always been inconsistent, not all over the place as Oda still maintain certain stability but Kol outright stating he has settled the debate when we still haven't seen what Mihawk can actually do is just him being his bias self like always. Just cause you know a lot about the series dose not mean you know everything when the author himself doesn't even want to go into detail about the subject 😂
It would seem that Oda set up mihawk as the mountain zero had to climb to achieve his goal. Shanks as the mountain luffy had to surpass to be the pirate king. Logically, shanks should be stronger than Mihawk for the story to unfold in a way that is consistent.
@@sitrus34 This if you assume that Mihawk world strongest sword'men title is below the Shank's title of Yonko. Need to keep in mind that two of the former Yonko had the strongest in their title as well, the only difference is that Mihawk is Shichibukai however that doesn't mean his position is any lower then the Yonko themselves. Oda has never stated that, and Yes Luffy wants to surpass Shank's but he want to be Pirate King which is above the Yonko. In other words it is something that not even Shank's has archived he is not Pirate King, so saying that Shanks is stronger then Mihawk when currently Yonko also share the position of the strongest title is speculation. Now I do believe that by the end of the series Luffy will be the strongest of all time, when it comes to that Luffy won't bother with mere Yonko anymore that will be dealt by people like Zoro who is probably by that time level of Yonko. Luffy true competition will be the final villain type perhaps Emu
@golth no. It doesn't require that assumption. It only requires me to read the manga and understand that mihawk had always been built up to be Zoros' final obstacle. Shanks was always been set up to play a huge part of the story where mihawk has always been foreshadowed to be the man zoro has to surpass to achieve his goals. I make no claims on who is stronger, but logically, it would make the most sense that shanks is.
@golth unless shanks is just going to be another ace for luffy. My personal opinion is shanks is either going to be secretly a villain or the next Ace. Someone that will fall to imu or blackbeard inspiring luffy to become even stronger. Mihawk seems to simply be someone for zoro to surpass. I could be wrong, but the most logical and consistent writing would make shanks the bigger threat.
@@sitrus34 Shank's is a bigger threat then Mihawk that mostly all understood for the type of role he plays in the story. But in terms of power wise it is not necessary, this being that once Zoro surpassed Mihawk he is kinda done in that area. But Luffy even after surpassing Shanks he is not stopping there he will be going to the very number 1 beating even the Pirate King. That's why putting Mihawk equally to Shank's does not break the plot consistent writing of the series. Luffy will be still climbing the ladder even after he wins Shanks. I don't think we are getting the evil Shanks plot, this is base on what we seen so far. But I do still belief he is gonna die at Blackbeard hands, ever since he gotten the scar from BB the death flag has been on his back.
It’s obvious they are equals…when mihawk visited shanks in the party island when he showed Luffys first bounty, shanks asked mihawk: hey Hawkeye did you come to settle the score? Meaning that there was no clear winner between them.or the duels were 2-2 for example, otherwise there is no point in settling a score. Also in the data book it says mihawk waits someone stronger than shanks to challenge him. Shanks is his gold standard as an equal again, that’s why he waits someone stronger because mihawk wants to see if he can push past his and shanks’ level.
God uses a sword once. Mihawk dipwads: God used a sword, Mihawk is stronger than Him! Remember everybody because Mihawk has the title of world's greatest swordsman, it doesn't matter what anime swordsperson you are talking about, Mihawk is more powerful than them. If you don't use one but look at a sword, or even think about one, Mihawk is instantly more powerful than you.
In physical stats Shanks and Mihawk are probably similar. They are both swordsmen who can only supplement their swordsmanship with Haki, since they have nothing else. I think Shanks has better(Advanced) Conquerors Haki, Mihawk has better Armament Haki and Shanks for now has better Observation Haki simply due to feats. Although Mihawk literally has Hawk-Eyes so on a symbolic level, I expect him to have high-level Observation Haki as well. Shanks probably developed Killer of Observation because of Mihawk. However Mihawk then gets a win in narrative due to being Zoros goal. So: Physical stats and IQ: Equals (both "normal humans" by One Piece standards.) Haki: Shanks (until we see more from Mihawk. Will be similar level, since he will have ACoC as well. Although I expect the quality of Shanks Haki to be greater and the number of hax and abillities) (Hax) Abillities:Shanks Skill: Mihawk Weapon: Mihawk Narrative: Mihawk
The way I always saw it is this… Mihawk can beat Shanks in a fight but Shanks can beat other people that Mihawks can’t… for example I don’t think Mihawk can beat kaido but shanks can

Do you see now the mental gymnastics that Shanks fans need to use to justify their agenda? Here are some indicators for a losing argument. When you use anime translation instead of the manga, when you need to use made up terms for something that has already been explained by the writer, or when you blatantly dismiss the writer's own words. Regarding sword skill, when has Zoro showcased anything Mihawk taught him regarding sword skill. Mihawk only taught him haki. When has sword skill ever been differentiated from just from overall combat ability of a swordsman? The facts are that Mihawk is a swordsman. Shanks is a swordsman. Mihawk is the strongest and the most skilled swordsman and he is still looking for someone who can surpass Shanks one day.
Because there's other power systems in place that grant you strength lmao. If you believe Mihawks title of Strongest Swordsman, I gotta tell you that the Strongest Creature said "Haki trumps all." It's honestly Mihawk glaze that he can be one of the strongest while only using sword skill but people don't wanna see it that way I guess
@@anthonyscrew7162Y’all missing his point… 800 Pound phoenix is a sword skill, and Zoro can use haki with it to strengthen the attack. I’m not watching an hour of cope so I’ll just debunk some common arguments for shank>mihawk “Shanks isn’t a swordsman” So for this argument, people often bring up king, but the thing with king is that his strongest attacks don’t use a sword. From what we know about shanks, he only has a sword. “Shanks is a hakiman” Shanks has been stated a swordsman various times in databooks. “Mihawks title only applies to skill” After he beat mr. 1 in alabasta, zoro states he got stronger. Mihawks title is worlds strongest swordsman. “Marineford exists” Mihawk didn’t even use a named attack. “Oh but kaido and whitebeard” Kaido and whitebeard are never stated to be wsc or wsm. They are only known as wsc and wss. Meanwhile mihawk is stated to be the strongest swordsman in name and reality.
No, it just proves the statement "world's strongest swordsman" does not prove anything. Same as the statement "world's strongest man". I don't think anyone would argue whitebeard is stronger than shanks, dragon, kaido, gorosei, etc, just because his title is world's strongest man. Shanks through portrayal and feats has shown he is way stronger. The only thing mihawk fans had was that title, and we now have proof it doesn't prove he's stronger. It makes zero sense, the only reason people think mihawk is stronger is because they are zoro glazers. All of them.
@@Pharomid so WB was old, I can EASILY argue WB above ALL of those characters when he was given the title(you know the point that actually matters for the title). What I'm saying is that somehow KOL twisted a statement about Mihawks SUPERIORITY as some sort of coup de grace to the Mihawk v Shanks Debate
Mihawk cam be a better swordsman but that doesn't mean he's overall stronger than shanks. Shanks is probably much stronger physically, faster, smarter and his haki is insane. I doubt mihawks is anywhere near his level. Bottom line is zoros going to beat mihawk eventually. Luffy is far stronger than zoro always has been always will be and the gap is growing wider. Mihawk can't be anywhere near shansk or luffys level by the end of thd story cause zoro can't be. Shanks is an emporer mihawk is a warlord. Why didn't they make mihawk an emporer? It's cause oda doesn't want people to think that mihawk is stronger than shanks. Cause they aren't even close.
@spunkymonkey5102 yeah, we was totally stronger than the gorosei and imu because the title says so. You're smart I think. Also, you're saying it only matters when it was given, and shanks has clearly gotten stronger, so the title now means nothing, yes? You just disproved yourself, zorotard.
@Pharomid do u believe that prime WB couldn't take Saturn??? When Luffy is about to??? Again, ur missing the point. A statement of Mihawks' superiority was given yet somehow that closed the argument I the opposite direction. Bottom line, Mihawk is still in his prime. And fucking 5 decades since he was given the title hasn't passed to it obviously has more weight. Like imagine if zoro wanted to be the world's strongest man but the world's strongest man has aids and was waaay past his prime. What a fucking story that would be
I think the only real fair answer is, we dont know. Mihawk doesnt want to fight shanks because he lost his dominant arm and is mostly likely not fighting like a swordsman anymore. In the war i guess he also didnt want to fight shanks first of all because he is his friend, 2nd it would be quite difficult. Mihawk doesnt want to kill Shanks or doesnt want to be killed by Shanks go hand in hand. They are close in Power like Luffy and Zoro, i think it is a fair parallel.
i think for me when Kaido said that only Haki can trump all other forms of power I thought that Shanks was probably stronger. yeah he was probably talking about haki as it relates to devil fruits but he also said Roger conquered the sea with just haki. imo haki is something that amplifies someone's swordsmanship but isn't the root of it
Let’s be 💯 the only reason why people get upset 😭 with Mihawk being stronger than shanks is cause of a certain goofy rubber dude lol. Remember shanks and luffy don’t fight their friends this fan joi shanks vs luffy isn’t a thing relax people. But ppl can’t get over zoro fighting someone stronger than the main protagonist idol.
There's literally swordless style techniques, in swordsmanship. In the series Zoro literally uses these techniques. 2. When has it never been a pattern for Oda to use Shanks to demonstrate whatever first. Only for it to be revealed that he's not the only. In fact it's common knowledge on the series, unknown the viewers. It happend whe Shanks was the firat to introduce Haki, was he the onl. It turns out it's common to thr Marines and Pirates of the New World. Shanks haki clashed with WB, turns out it's common knowledge amongst Advanced Conqueror's Haki users. 3. It's already been established that Mihawk and Shanks have often clashed in legendary duels, heard across the world. During rhe time Shanks was already known as the observation killer, which is haki. And Mihawk's been the World's Greatest Swordsman. And Mihawk fought Shanks cause he's a swordman, and Shanks swordmanship is using haki. The same as all the orginal yonko, and top tiers. It's confirmed Roger swordmanship was haki, Rayleigh Swordsmanship is haki, Oden swordsmanship is haki, Shanks Swordsmanshipn is haki, EB infuses his weapon, considered a blade in the series, sometimes in conjunction with his DF. Kaidous using haki for his weapon, considered a sword, Big Mom is using haki with Napolean etc. And it's established the only way to counter strong haki is with as strong or stronger haki. Yet Mihawk is still the World's Greatest Swordsman, and Shanks isn't, obviously he wasn't defeated by Shanks Haki, some claim is above Mihawks. So that doesn't make sense. 4. Road to Laughtale states is Haki alone enough, not that Haki wasn't required. And there's on 2 confirmed people to accomplish a Permanent Black Blade. So yeah anyone can make a Permanent Black, but how practical is it, can just anyone do it, obviously no. As it's explained through Ryuma's constant bloodshed forged his permanent Black Blade. Which is similar to Mihawk gaining the postion of World's Greateat Swordsman, being undefeated. Ryuma too was the greatest swordsman of his time. But in general he's was unchallenged as the strongest of his Era, deterring the WG and Pirates. So he's not only one shotting just Swordsman.
Shanks got scared by a Black beard with no devil fruit, also goes and snitch’s to the gorosei. Mihawk better drip, better sword, better title, has a castle to himself, and could pull perona without trying. Imma ride with the man who didn’t lose his arm to a sea king.

The problem you’re comparing a yonko to a man who became a warlord so he could live a quiet life. You’re too obsessed with titles while at the same time shanks fans are trying to take away his title as the strongest swordsman. But oda won’t let him
Look until Oda comes out and say Shanks is more powerful than Mihawk or has stronger haki, then I can’t put him over mihawk. Mihawk is stated continuously to be stronger and/or waiting for someone even stronger than Shanks to face him over and over again in official One piece material. Let’s be real if Mihawk couldn’t beat shanks, then there be no reason for mihawk to no longer have an interest in shanks. If shanks was truly stronger than Mihawk, why would mihawk not interested fighting Shanks when he was in the past? The arm shouldn’t matter if Shanks was still able to defeat Mihawk. It just doesn’t make sense. Also, as for Zoro. No one is saying haki is swordsmanship, but haki is needed to be the best at swordsmanship cause without haki Zoro isn’t beating Mr. 1, he’s not beating Pica, not damaging Kuma, etc. Shoot it took Zoro telling pica that his armament haki is stronger which lead to Zoro beating him.
You should be saying the opposite. Nothing in the story supports mihawk as better in haki, any battle feats and portrayal. Mihawk isn’t continuously stated to be stronger than shanks. Also dont forget that mihawk and shanks used to duel it out 10yrs ago. Mihawk stopped fighting shanks after he lost his arm more than 10yrs ago meaning mihawk and shanks never get a chance to duel it out on their prime, which arguably the current timeline of OP. Mihawk refusing to fight shanks does NOT imply he is stronger, just because he thinks he’s stronger doesnt mean it is a fact. The whole reason with this is, Mihawk just refused to fight a one arm man in a sword fight, which is both their game. He treats shanks as a lesser swordsman maybe because of pride and his handicap. However, oda said that shanks after losing an arm, grew significantly stronger, that’s the same reason oda made shanks CoC to be on another level because it is what he trained on to compensate for a missing arm. The title went to mihawk because shanks is just missing an arm and probably not interested in the title anyway. But shanks in general is just stronger because of his haki level. Him and mihawk havent settle the score for a decade, based on portrayal and feats, shanks is the better and stronger character.
Mihawks backstory is that he sailed the seas looking for stronger and stronger swordsman to fight until there was none left. But shanks fans logic is that he sailed the seas and looked for pure blooded true swordsman who follow the way of Miyamoto Musashi and don’t involve haki into their fights only true sword skill (which is the way one gracefully elegantly and flashily waves one’s sword around) and who don’t have devil fruits and who actually care about the title. Never seen a fan base cope so hard 😂😂😂
Using pre timeskip to argue lack of haki is weird. In one breathe you say Zoro def had haki against das bones, but then say Nolan’s didn’t?! Also kyrios literally had haki, he passed it to his daughter.
For zoro to become the best swordsman he had to unlock and train haki He even needed conquer haki to become stronger(which proves it isn't just about making the sword sharper or less likely to be broken as KOL claimed) Haki is central to the road to becoming the strongest swordsman. Hell haki is essential to becoming the the strongest or best at anything as riley stated. And anyone who says otherwise is reading another manga. What KOL is basically saying, zoro doesn't need haki to become the strongest swordsman. Which is the dumbest thing you can say after wano arc. Zoro needed conquer haki to beat king and injure kaido. No amount of sword skill can do that. Regarding the swordsmans, he mentioned, who have beaten other characters "without" haki. This is pure speculation without any evidence.
What if Mihawk is THAT OD with his Sword Skills that he doesn't need Haki to Injure King and Kaido? Afterall we still don't know for sure how Zoro does Lion song and Ashura, Is it Haki or Sword Technique or Something else Entirely...
I think the fact that Rayleigh wasn't in Kaido's top 5 confirms Shanks is stronger thank Mihawk. Because Kaido should have had the chance to see Rayleigh fight at the God Valley war. Thereby him not being in Kaido's Top 5 Implies that he's weaker than rodger. In Contrast Shanks is in Kaido's top 5, which implies shanks is relative to Rodger. Given Mihawk and Rayleigh both held the strongest swordsman title I think similar in strength. It also should be noted mihawk beat rayleigh after he was past his prime. Thereby Shanks > Prime Rayleigh >= Mihawk. Also given the big gap between Luffy and Zoro, its hard for me to imagine zoro beating some relative kaido or shanks, even in the end of series. So Although, Mihawk is insanely strong I don't think hes quite on the level of Rodger, Shanks and Luffy.
All this gymnastics. The fact that Garp wasn’t on the list means the list isn’t the most factual. Also, that’s Kaido personal top5, Shanks personal top 5 would definitely include Mihawk.
@@d.p.a.474 I could just be misremembering this, but when he was introduced, I recall someone saying Rayleigh was the previous holder of WSS and Mihawk took it from him.
@@Ashtonflorman1997 I'm pretty sure Garp doesn't have conquers. He wasn't listed on the marine list of conquers users and wasn't in Kaido top conquers list despite being relative to Rodger and being at God valley(so Kaido should have seen him fight). I believe he was able to get on Rodgers level by making his Advance Armament Haki really strong. I theorize Armament Haki strength is proportional to how the tough the body is, which is why Garp spent alot of time punching battle ships. Over time this made his fists really tough. I Also Think, Garp and Kobe Probably have some affinity for Armament Haki that no other characters have. IRL fighters punch rocks and other touch objects to strength their fists perhaps this where Oda got the idea.

Even in the battle between aokiji and akainu injuries did happen (aokiji lost 1 leg and akainu got multiple scars) and that battle wasnt till death. So what i am saying is, since shanks has only 1 arm left an injury to his 1 arm would make him helpless and instantly loose him the fight. All this discussion exist because it's about sword. Shanks vs Mihawk is like comparing Ben Beckman vs Yasopp on the use of guns. another one, Rayleigh saying "observation haki is the power to feel another's presence to an elevated degree" and mihawk at baratie saying "if you're a competent swordsman, you don't need to cross swords to know the difference between us" meaning the greater haki you have the more competent of a swordsman you are by mihawk's saying
another, sukiyaki telling zoro that enma exudes its wielders ryuo on its own and slices more than needed then zoro saying "so by the time i'm used to this it'll mean i've gotten that much stronger?", let alone the fact that mihawk is taming the greatest sword in the world not just enma
another, rayleigh saying conqueror's is found in the type of people who make a name for themselves on a global scale, and king saying "so you intend to be a king then" after seeing zoro's conqueror's, what do you think about someone who's already sitting up there?
rayleigh also saying "THE REAL ADVANCEMENT IN HAKI HAPPENS DURING EXTREME USE IN BATTLE, THE STRONGER FOES YOU FACE WITH THIS POWER THE STRONGER YOU'LL BECOME WITH IT", and whitebeard saying "many consider them as legends, the duals between you and hawkeye", and as we already know shanks used to fight mihawk up to his 27yo and both made each other's haki way stronger according to the rule, until the moment of losing an arm and gaining a disadvantage at swords playing, the same moment mihawk deciding to stop trying to settle things respecting his swordsmand's code and honor

The problem with all this comes down to the simple question and answer:
How does one become the world's strongest swordsman?
Who did mihawk beat?
@spamspamspamspam3459 We don't know. All we know is, according to Zoro, the only way to become the WSS is to defeat Mihawk in sword duel.

Even STRONGER THAN ZORO might actually even die, just trying to tame Yoru ! and again mastering the sword and other things are then again whole another ordeal…

@@Fire_Lord95 if you really think he was going all out, then I don't have enough brain cells to debate you.
Ok that’s it then. Zoro’s dream won’t be achieved because Oda lied about Mihawk for 25 years and he’ll never fight shanks. Oh well
That rat will probably die then, but vivre cards already prove Zoro would own him by then.
Actually… this probably won’t happen, and I hated the whole ZKK thing, but Zoro vs Shanks? I could see it. When Luffy was a kid one of his brags was “My crew will be better than yours.

Literally all of Zoro's powerups post-timeskip have been haki related. If you really think a character who has been established as Zoro's endgoal for over 1000 chapters won't have crazy haki then you're bugging. The man is called 'Hawkeyes' ffs.
From what we’ve seen shanks seems stronger just from his protrayl. oda has butchered mihawks protrayl beacuse how people reacted to his prescence in marineford it did not give me the vibe that anybody there considered him all too great tbh compared to when shanks pulled up. He seems kinda like a second note character not someone who could litterally potentially be the strongest guy right now
mihawk has never, not once, gone all out. for all we know, everything we've seen him do is him using 1% of his real strength. so how has his portrayal been ruined?
@@godemperorofmankind3.091 beacuse he’s been doing nothing, he doesent seem strong. The reason why people calling him a fraud is his protrayl. What do you mean? The warlords and the marines were all too surprised when he decided to draw his blade.
Oda always makes shanks appear a cut above the rest. Good clarification KOL
It’s all to upscale Mihawk.🤷♂️
Rayleigh in the new episode did the samething Shanks Did Wen He Saved Hancock From Blackbeard
Theres a reason why Oda hasn’t showed the real power of paint D sword and Pay D child support (dragon)
Could it be that Mihawk’s sword is black because he’s constantly pumping haki into it?
No it's literally called A black blade
Doesn't explain why Ryumas Blade is still Black even after 400 years after Ryumas death.
Using pre timeskip to argue lack of haki is weird. In one breathe you say Zoro def had haki against das bones, but then say Nolan’s didn’t?! Also kyrios literally had haki, he passed it to his daughter.
For zoro to become the best swordsman he had to unlock and train haki
He even needed conquer haki to become stronger(which proves it isn't just about making the sword sharper or less likely to be broken as KOL claimed)
Haki is central to the road to becoming the strongest swordsman.

Dude. Where is it stated that Rayleigh was the world strongest swordsman?
All this gymnastics. The fact that Garp wasn’t on the list means the list isn’t the most factual. Also, that’s Kaido personal top5, Shanks personal top 5 would definitely include Mihawk.
@@Ashtonflorman1997 true

Nah mihawk doesnt even have to beat shanks in a traditional sense to win. In a 1vs1 to the death always Injuries happen. And that the exact reason mihawk has no interest fight shanks. Like he said it isnt even fair with just on arm.
All this discussion exist because it's about sword.
Shanks vs Mihawk is like comparing Ben Beckman vs Yasopp on the use of guns.
Ben Beckman can use a gun to shoot but he mostly use it as a baseball bat.
Yasopp is a marksman.
Shanks can use a sword to cut
Mihawks a is a swordsman.
It's not because Nami can cook she's a chef like Sanji, and so on.
So is he a swordsman or nah?
@@Ashtonflorman1997 Shanks uses sword but he's not a Swordsman in a One Piece sense.
Swordsman in One Piece is the definition of someone who lives by the code of the sword, the "Bushido" in Japanese. Like a Samurai from real Feudal Japan. Even not being titled "Samurai" as a swordman from Wano they live by the same code. That's why Zoro refuses to take a cut on his back, and Vivi used to call him Mr.Bushido.
Tashigi is a swordswoman while Big Mom isn't even though Big Mom also uses a sword, because she doesn't like by the code.
@@iurypadilha No disrespect but where did this “bushido code” come from. Shiliew is definitely a swordsman but he doesn’t seem like he follows any code. Even if their was a code, nothing in the series shows Shanks doesn’t follow the code.
