Thank you for coming out Tim and Christy. Project turned out great, now just waiting for rain to see how it works as it is a work in progress. Looking forward to insurance discussions.
Steven Thomson You got a wonderful lookin garage sir, im jealous!! I would love if you and tim got together and answered all of our questions about insurance.
Steven Thomson if someone wants to buy a 2 story house with a 3 car attached garage on the side of the house in a 10 year old development and they see a crack in the foundation on the front and back of the house is it harder to get insurance on a house with foundation damage?
One of the reasons I enjoy watching your videos is because I always feel as if I'm learning something useful. After retiring, I became what I joking refer to as a 'Gentleman Farmer'; I bought 200 acres of dry farmland and then built a shop/home near the front. I lease out 150 acres to a wheat farmer and play with the rest. Hence, I now have two tractors and a dozen different implements to help me take care of the place. Thanks
Enjoyed the video Tim. You do have a great friend that is an insurance agent that is willing to help you in a time of need with the flooded basement. I would like to hear more about the insurance questions. It would be interesting to see how this waterway works in the next big rain. Y'all take care and God bless.
Tim I'm not giving a negative comment like one guy because it really is a work in progress. I've done this all my life and you will have to see when it rains to see if it works. Putting those checks in is good it will slow the speed down a lot. I would like to see during a big rain or after. Good stuff guys.
Tim and Christy, your videos not only do a great job at introducing new tools but are just so enjoyable to watch. Thank y'all for all the time you put into this.
Always enjoy when Brother Tom and Nephew Randall stop out to help you. The Insurance talk sounds like an interesting subject, I would tune in to watch that.
I enjoyed watching the video, caring families are the greatest Blessing, better than gold when trouble shows up or helping hand is needed. I hope we get to see how it works at some point, thanks for taking us along. .
Somewhere I have seen 'detention' basins like these actually graded into large farm fields to slow water down & prevent washouts from starting. But, Adding that pipe will concentrate the water & make it worse.
That looked like an all day job and it took plenty of your equipment to finish the job and I hope it helped the landowner in getting the water drained off where he wanted it to go.
Ya'll need a "rock bucket". Used one myself in the past. Works well picking up loose rock in fields while leaving dirt. An example: Bradco 66 Rock Bucket, 3 Tine Spacing Universal Skid Steer Quick Attach
I had a similar problem with a storm water culvert washing out the exit area on my property. Using a large Gabion basket and filling it with limestone rock it dramatically diffuses the the water velocity/flow to a more manageable amount. Best wishes
Insurance info would be great! I use my 1025r to help neighbors, and let them use it too sometimes, wonder what is covered. Great to see Tom and Randall again!!
Thanks for the offer to do the insurance info video. I would be very interested in that. I have heard that if you do work with your tractor and get paid for it Marine Insurance is required. I have no idea what that is or what it covers though. Thanks Tim for doing all the heavy lifting for the rest of us.
That would be interesting to know Tim. I live in a neighborhood with the lots .75 to 1.5 acres. My 1025R is well known and spends a lot of time helping the neighbors with their land. Which we greatly enjoy doing. I have the John Deere Insurance but not exactly sure if that protects on a neighbors property. Would be great to learn more. Thanks!
I currently have the John Deere insurance on my garden tractor. I asked about the tractor being covered off of my home property, because we had a rental house across town. I was told that it covers the tractor where ever it is. Not just at your home address. Just remember that the JD insurance goes away when the loan is paid off.
An interesting subject you brought up on insurance, especially if my homeowners covers my new Johndeere 1023E tractor. I am going to call them first thing on Monday. Thanks, Tim!
Great video !!! Tim I just bought a 2008 3520 with cab oh boy I’m spoiled now !! After a 8 month season doing brush control (still going ) and discing . Breathing all that dust and stuff now I’m in the AC :)!!! Just got it yesterday was a great deal needs some TlC but all systems ara a go !!!!
What I find with fabric underneath - Pro type is thicker than this and lasts. Weeds just grow on dust and between rocks. Fabric allows water to go through and stop dust and rock. This looks like limestone that breaks down and should create a seal. I have it on my driveway and it makes a mat. I have Road bead rock (1/4 and smaller) and then 1/2 - 3/4" on top. I have some 2 and less in the drive where it floods over in big storms. Weeds - just spray it and it is gone - easy to spray with rocks.
Good episode Tim. You bring up some good questions about insurance that I never thought about. That's a great idea to have him answer insurance questions.
Great video guy's! I don't have my trailer insured. I was told in PA that when the trailer is attached to your tow vehicle it is covered under the tow vehicle insurance. And when it's on my property it's covered under my homeowners policy. In your case it's a business so it's probably different. I'm going to have to double check with my agent again. Better safe than sorry.
In Pennsylvania, my TLB isn't covered by homeowners insurance and required a separate policy. In fact, when I honestly told the agent, that I would be taking it off of our property to help my neighbors, it required a commercial insurance policy.
Yes, I would love more information on if my homeowner's insurance, would cover my tractor, if I was helping a neighbor and something happened to the tractor, thank you all so much.
You had the right idea in using a check dam, you will need to put a few more in. The pipe was not really needed as the size of the rocks allow water thru them. The ideal way is to reduce velocity, BMP on water ways are on the Web for even more ways of slowing erosion.
I wished this friend of urs(steve) could sell insurance in Pa., where i live at. seems so easy to ask questions to and get the right answers. yes i would enjoy the insurance series-i say go for it.
I am going through what you are talking about, with Insurance. as we just acquired a new 1025 R Tlb. Yes i would like to hear more. Even in I live in Canada!!! God Bless.
I have had the same experience with ins. agents quoting reasonable prices on one item (trailer, truck etc) and then quoting crazy prices for the same type of vehicle in a different trim level etc. Insurance video would be very helpful!
My homeowners insurance doesn’t cover my tractor here in Alabama. When I first bought my John Deere I had to have full coverage required by the John Deere finance Dept. They used a specific insurance company and I had to use them until I paid off my tractor. When I paid it off my insurance company said my homeowners insurance would not cover anything like this. So I had to get a separate policy from them just for my Tractor. And it did make a difference if the tractor was to be used for farming or just personal use like property upkeep. I didn’t inquire about using it for a business like you have but it does cover me if I’m dong work for others as long as I’m not charging them for the work.
I may be speaking out of turn here but my salesman told me the Deere insurance only protects Deere for the remaining balance on the loan, not for anything else. That's probably why it only cost me 300USD for 5 years. I am a relatively new Deere owner and haven't gotten insurance yet that would protect me (liability and fire and theft of attachments not purchased initially) .
Liffy it was my understand that it covered everything on the tractor like full coverage vehicle insurance. However I never had to use it. But I’m positive my policy does now. It was also cheaper to go w my company after the loan was paid or I would have stayed with them. If you’re not sure it’d be a good call to make.
Please do some videos on insurance and how it relates to trailers and equipment. I have found that even from lengthy talks with my agent I still have many questions left unanswered.
Looks like the riprap is setting higher than the surrounding grade. I would dig out a deeper ditch then coat the ditch with the riprap. I’d love to see a series on insuring tractors, equipment and trailers.
GP outdoors did a good series on tractor insurance and how to be covered far more than homeowners insurance can or will cover At the end, that’s what I call getting into your work Christie😂
Hi Tim and Christy. I think a video about insurance would be good. I know GP from GP Outdoors did one which was very informative, especially for Canadians. (I hope mentioning another channel isn't inappropriate).
Tim - the insurance discussions would be awesome! What a great way to help your community out with complex topics and help make sure they’re getting the protection they need without overpaying. You could call it “‘What about...’ Wednesday’s” to answer the “what about if I am...” questions related to insurance! My family has found the T&TT videos helpful as we recently have bought a truck and trailer! Just ordered our first set of CargoBuckles. Thank you!
Steven Thomson looking forward to it. We have a spring fed creek that averages about 6” deep and 3-4’ wide. After heavy rains it swells to reach outside the Banks 3’ high and spreads to 50-100 feet wide. Doesn’t happen often but it does, just doesn’t last long.
Would like to hear more about Insurance, for instance I have heard that if your trailer is hooked to your truck it is covered by your auto policy, but that doesn't insure it when parked or for theft.
I would be interested in the insurance segment as well. You really should think about being a teacher at a high school or technical college. You would be great!
Have a feeling you all wasted time a resources on this project. Remember that water always will take the path of least resistance. The problem is that water was slowing down and backing up causing washing out around the rocks. You need to increase flow at the top and slow it down gradually through the property. Can't change the physical movements because you still have the same volume of water coming into the property. The path needs to slow the water by widening the path as it goes on and or changing the elevation at which it travels. That is what it is trying to do by bypassing the rock. Damn it at the top won't work long term.
Based upon the initial description of the problem, the owner was surprised at the volume of water, I suspect that the single pipe will be too much of a restriction and will be quickly overwhelmed, flooding out that area and causing more erosion. I hate to see the effort and money being wasted trying to solve the problem. This is one case where an engineer should've been consulted. Drainage and flood control is a difficult DIY project, that can result in more harm than good being done if not engineered properly. What maximum amount of rainfall was factored into the design, 1" per hour, 2", 3" or more? What is the slope/grade of the land? Is the water held in a flood control reservoir on-site or does it flow onto adjoining property?
Tractor Time with Tim I missed where you asked for opinion on what you should of done? Maybe I should watch video again to see if I missed something. I to have a problem with water at my home dozer works well. Lol keep on Tim have fun.
Insurance video would be great. I switched companys last year just for the reasons you stated they could not answer detailed questions. The new company I went with was able to answer all questions I had plus I gave several scenarios and they were able to tell me how it would work if I was to have a claim
Yes insurance would be helpful information. Such as does cost scale with price of tractor or horse power? Example 68hp ls xu6168 with cab 35k or 59 hp yanmar for 59k or 73 hp kioti with cab for 41k? So which affects cost of policy? Price or power?
I'd be interested in more tractor insurance information. When I bought my tractor my insurance company told me my homeowners insurance covered the tractor. Just seemed like they would charge extra for a rather significant valued asset. Still not really sure I'm covered. I'm in CT, not sure if the laws are the same here.
Insurance info would be great to mention. As I am not a fan of insurance or extended warranty but reality is we have to have it. So info about it would be great with whatever you may be able to provide.. thanks see me here next time watching.... Tractor Time with Tim lol. Really thank you for all the info.
Hello Tim and Christy, we might be getting and LS xj2025h tractor and we're almost 100 Percent sure on a grapple, but we need help, we were going to get a grapple from the dealer but after looking at it we don't really like it, it is the style that is more like a flat plate and one grab, the other kind is the one you guys had in the video where it is like a bucket almost. What would you guys recommend for someone like us who will be hauling LOTS of blackberry bushes, a few trees and brush, and just carying stuff. What do you think the best one would be for us, we really like the bucket style in this video but we're not sure.
Would love to hear more on insurance, I like you have a lot of stuff and pay a lot of premiums every year. Still don't know if we are properly insured.

Nathan Brodeur give me a shout at steven.thomson@countryfinancial.com and would be glad to discuss with you. Thanks!
Hey guys, how did the retention wall turn out?
One of the reasons I enjoy watching your videos is because I always feel as if I'm learning something useful. Thanks for the kind words. Really appreciate you continuing to watch our channel!
Enjoyed the video Tim. You do have a great friend that is an insurance agent that is willing to help you in a time of need with the flooded basement. I would like to hear more about the insurance questions.
It would be interesting to see how this waterway works in the next big rain. Y'all take care and God bless.
Definitely would like an episode on insurance!
I actually just messaged TTWT on FB about the subject!
You should talk to Letsdig18 on what to do with this ditch, he is a master at pond overflows and ditch building
Was gonna say the same thing.
Or how about some honest cams equipment appraisals?
SpoolinTurbo 13 😂😂😂
Tim I'm not giving a negative comment like one guy because it really is a work in progress. I've done this all my life and you will have to see when it rains to see if it works. Tim and Christy, your videos not only do a great job at introducing new tools but are just so enjoyable to watch. Thank y'all for all the time you put into this.
Man that is a beautiful property! Hope what you all did works for a longer time.
That was a good video Tim
Another great project. That property looks totally awesome, love the lake! Nice work Tim & company! Thank you.
Always enjoy when Brother Tom and Nephew Randall stop out to help you. The Insurance talk sounds like an interesting subject, I would tune in to watch that.

Steve does insurance for my family and business as well. Great guy to work with.

I would like to see a video of how the ditch handles a big rain storm. Looks like you did a good job and it should work.
Tractor Time with Tim very knowledgeable and helpful family you have
I had a similar problem with a storm water culvert washing out the exit area on my property. Using a large Gabion basket and filling it with limestone rock it dramatically diffuses the the water velocity/flow to a more manageable amount. Best wishes
4044R is a beautiful tractor!

Thanks Tim for doing all the heavy lifting for the rest of us.
I never would have thought to use the power rake on 9" riprap. Worked rather well.
+1 for the insurance Q&A
That would be interesting to know Tim. I live in a neighborhood with the lots .75 to 1.5 acres. My 1025R is well known and spends a lot of time helping the neighbors with their land. I totally agree!

I was told that it covers the tractor where ever it is. Not just at your home address. Just remember that the JD insurance goes away when the loan is paid off.
Same here..Thank you!
Insurance info always good I know my homeowners covers the tractor at least while it was under finance
An interesting subject you brought up on insurance, especially if my homeowners covers my new Johndeere 1023E tractor. I am going to call them first thing on Monday. Thanks, Tim!
Love the insurance information! More information please. Great video. Very nice 👍🏼 property.

Nice video tim and kristie .nice property, beautiful place to work
That’s a nice peaceful spread those folks have. Pretty property
Good episode Tim. You bring up some good questions about insurance that I never thought about. That's a great idea to have him answer insurance questions.
Yes with the growing number of weekend DIY warriors it would be a great idea to go over legal questions about insurance what’s needed and what’s not
Yes more information... especially if you are just helping a friend out.
This was a perfect job for Casey
Tractors make the world go round...that’s why they need such big tires 😉
Great video guy's! I don't have my trailer insured. I was told in PA that when the trailer is attached to your tow vehicle it is covered under the tow vehicle insurance. wow this 4044R is a nice rig!:O
Christy, grapple is ordered!!!
How are you liking the new grapple and how did the updates do
Maye you could post a follow up after some hard rains and let us know how it worked out.
Wow the entire tractor family was there and Tim’s family
Yes I would like to learn more about insurance it would be nice to see how well the tile and dam worked when flooding thanks for the videos
Nice work! I carry an umbrella policy through my insurance agent and it covers all of my equipment and myself when I'm working off of my own property.
You had the right idea in using a check dam, you will need to put a few more in. The pipe was not really needed as the size of the rocks allow water thru them. The ideal way is to reduce velocity, BMP on water ways are on the Web for even more ways of slowing erosion.
Steve added one more. He got a large rain this week, and said it worked perfectly....kept the water in the waterway as desired.
Another good video Tim.
Yes a segment or 2 on insurance needs would be beneficial to everyone.
As an insurance agent in Iowa it would be helpful for people to get a brief overview of tractor coverages.
I wished this friend of urs(steve) could sell insurance in Pa., where i live at. seems so easy to ask questions to and get the right answers. yes i would enjoy the insurance series-i say go for it.
BigJim57 we can put you in touch with an agent there with our company! Email me!
@@steventhomson2042 ok thanks i will do that later in the week-ok
I am going through what you are talking about, with Insurance. as we just acquired a new 1025 R Tlb. Yes i would like to hear more. Even in I live in Canada!!! God Bless.

You never disappoint ttyt!!!! Great learning 👍. Need artillian grapple in bad way
Looks like the riprap is setting higher than the surrounding grade. I would dig out a deeper ditch then coat the ditch with the riprap. I’d love to see a series on insuring tractors, equipment and trailers.

Yes--insurance on info! You can never go wrong with more education. And glad to know he can work Tenneessee!
Tim - the insurance discussions would be awesome! What a great way to help your community out with complex topics and help make sure they’re getting the protection they need without overpaying. akbychoice I will try and get a video and TTWT can post.

The insurance information is a must do topic for ttwt.
Yes we all need more insurance info to be better informed and make wiser insurance decisions
Yes! I would love to know more about the insurance especially since he is in Illinois. I have tried to do my own research, but limited success.
Good video Tim appreciate it
I would definitely like to have some more information on insurance
Yes on the insurance info....thanks Tim
Christy for the WIN... Who was BEEPING while Christy was backing up????
Tim!
Yes. We’d love that video.
You guy's just rocking & rolling with the john deere ' hehe
Have a feeling you all wasted time a resources on this project. Remember that water always will take the path of least resistance. The problem is that water was slowing down and backing up causing washing out around the rocks. You need to increase flow at the top and slow it down gradually through the property. Can't change the physical movements because you still have the same volume of water coming into the property. The path needs to slow the water by widening the path as it goes on and or changing the elevation at which it travels. That is what it is trying to do by bypassing the rock. Damn it at the top won't work long term.
Yes. Exactly. The ditch needs to be deeper with steeper sides.
Oh good grief. Pipe was free...we worked for free. If it doesn’t work, we’ll try something else. No need to take it so seriously!!!!
sometimes you can learn more by using the Edison approach, and it's not like this will cause any harm. For Science!
Tractor Time with Tim I missed where you asked for opinion on what you should of done? Maybe I should watch video again to see if I missed something. I to have a problem with water at my home dozer works well. Lol keep on Tim have fun.
If you had a rock bucket it would be easier to get the rocks moved. They are not cheap. You may have to put it on the bigger Johny
Trailer insurance? I never had it for 30 plus years. I figured its covered because I am hauling it. This would be a good topic.
Insurance video would be great. I switched companys last year just for the reasons you stated they could not answer detailed questions. The new company I went with was able to answer all questions I had plus I gave several scenarios and they were able to tell me how it would work if I was to have a claim
Its the Intended Usage and frequency of use of the big green trailer
Yes insurance would be helpful information. Such as does cost scale with price of tractor or horse power? Example 68hp ls xu6168 with cab 35k or 59 hp yanmar for 59k or 73 hp kioti with cab for 41k? So which affects cost of policy? Price or power?
Insurance answers would be a valuable video!
Just like the right tractor dealer you have to find the right insurance agent.
That would be Helpful to know what questions we should be asking our agents and things to look out for!
Also it has be connected with the skid steer attachment
Would love more insurance info Tim. It's definitely confusing...and it stinks when you're not smart enough to know what you don't know!
Good range of insurance questions. Especially when it comes to just doing a quick job for free for the neighbor.
Tim, I recommend looking up the French Drain Man on RUclips. He's got a lot of experience in building drainage systems.
Really thank you for all the info.
tractortimewithtim.com/insurance You can post your questions there
Hey Tim I’m really considering a Mahindra could you or will you look one over and give your thoughts?
Hello Tim and Christy, we might be getting and LS xj2025h tractor and we're almost 100 Percent sure on a grapple, but we need help, we were going to get a grapple from the dealer but after looking at it we don't really like it, it is the style that is more like a flat plate and one grab, the other kind is the one you guys had in the video where it is like a bucket almost. What would you guys recommend for someone like us who will be hauling LOTS of blackberry bushes, a few trees and brush, and just carying stuff. What do you think the best one would be for us, we really like the bucket style in this video but we're not sure.
Artillian.com. You will like it.
My home owners insurance only covered my tractor while on my property... so went and found someone who would cover my toys anywhere I went...
Would love to hear more on insurance, I like you have a lot of stuff and pay a lot of premiums every year. Still don't know if we are properly insured.
Insurance info could be interesting And we in Arizona 😬 call it tail light guarantee. Lol And nice finish work 👌👍👌
Tim your closing in on 100k subs!!
If the property owner could shoot some video or take pictures of how the new waterway works when it’s full of water that would be interesting.
Tim, More information on homeowner's insurance would be great!
Great video 👍
Definitely yes on the insurance topics!
Yes the insurance episode would be great.
Insurance answers be great because I’m always helping someone
