Wow... I am actually in tears. The idea of species that have hated each other for hundres of years standing alongside eachother is pretty cliché, but it is used perfectly here. I am honored to have followed the GTU from day one of this series.
Mankind does not surrender, Mankind does not run away and hide, Mankind does not lay down and die. What ever happens, what ever the outcome, mankind fights to the last ship, to the last shell, to the last man, to the last minute, to the last breath.
As the heads of the Stellar Axis watched the High Marshal give her impassioned speech, the emissary drone from the Algorithm turned to its peers. "The Terrans chose death, most illogical." In the background, the screen was filled with Terrans, Wasari, Rixians, and more chanting "Never!" over and over again. The Pollenian ambassador grumbled. "The Terran madness knows no bounds." Another closed the viewscreen. "Xani, Jaz'Kavaz, it makes no matter. The Union, their collaborators, and their sympathizers will be crushed. It is only a matter of time." The Pollenian turned to the Florian diplomat. She stood apart, staring silently out the window of the space station that floated above her homeworld of Garden. "Great mother, your silence is deafening." "Madness..." She mused to herself. "Perhaps... perhaps madness is what will save them. *Perhaps* it could save us all..."
"Your foe is well equipped, well-trained, battle-hardened. He believes his gods are on his side. Let him believe what he will. We have the tanks on ours"
During the twilight of the galaxy, the Great Khan sat on his throne on the bridge of the Thrusting Spear - his personal flagship, and the longest one in his armada. Only one other person was beside him, watching the stars through the great windows. Cilla, the favorite of his wives, had refused to go with the women and the children of his great clan. She would be with him till the end. Everything, his whole live, had been boiled down to this one moment which was to come. For decades the Great Kahn had watched the Greater Terran Union in eager anticipation. His nemesis had grown in both strength and resolve with each conflict they endured, and surely, after this last war against this unknowable enemy, they would finally have become the worthy opponent he had always envisioned them to be. His anticipation grew as he imagined the duel they would carry out across the stars. The sweetness of battle, the glory of final victory. But it would not come. He had been robbed of his glory, for this was the day the GTU would fall - and not by his hand. He had accepted this fact the moment he had seen the projections made by his most trusted advisors. The Greater Terran Union and their allies would fall, if left on their own. They had put up a formidable fight against the most overwhelming odds, but the battle of Styx would be their undoing. His prey would be another man's gain, their defeat another man's glory. And he would not have that. The battle already waged as his warband passed through the jumpgate. It was about to tip. This was the one strike his sworn nemesis could neither evade nor parry. It would wound them fataly, when it would happen. If it would happen. If he would let it happen. He would not. There was no need for orders, as his thousand sons took position beside the Spear, setting an example for every cruiser, frigate and even frighter his empire had ever mustered. There was no need for aft shields, for their course would lead only foreward. There was no need for life support. As the Thrusting Spear took lead of the charge that steered every man, woman and child of age from the Great Khan's Empire into history, there was only one fierce cry howling through the galactic night. It was but one word. One name. And the voice of every soul echoed it until dawn. For history may never forget the name: *KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!*
I imagine the reaction of the GTU when the portal opened to be like: "Hey you, glowing xeno! I'm the ony one allowed to commit unjustified mass-murder in this galaxy. Get your own."
When the chips are down, when all hope is lost, all it takes is for a few Humans to say "NEVER" to find the common cause to defeat anything Great series, worthy of being a full length sci-fi classic with this amount of world building.
"This is a message to all those puny weaklings fighting these glowing eye sores! I am Khan! The scourge of the black expanse, the tyrant of trillions, and the lover of that puny human drink called Vodka! That's how it goes for me, everyone hates me until suddenly, when I'm the biggest empire (with gigastructures on btw) they all want me. Usually I just lay back after a while and turn into a fallen empire, but till hold incredible power, so when the crisis fires I have loads of firepower and crafts, such as planet and moon crafts (don't know how to make system crafts) so when the unbidden or a war in heaven shows up I pull a awakened empire
Considering your homeland was almost completely razed, I'm not surprised. Heck I would become a shoot 1st ask questions later on any alien world once they are already properly scouted
"Captain? Your orders? Captain!" They had fallen back from the front line when their last turret was destroyed. Combat repairs would take hours. The reinforcing Unbidden just appearing before her wouldn't wait that long. As Yular Hamilcar, Commander of the destroyer Cataphract, stood on the bridge of her ship, the command crew watched with fear and expectation. Her thoughts drifted to battles survived and comrades lost. Victories over old enemies and these new terrors. Her mind finally settled on the face of her eldest son Yusef, lost in the invasion of the Xani homeworld. "All ahead full! Release all safeties on the reactors and prepare to overload!" Yular's tone firm and confident.
"In response to the demand from both the Jaz Gavaaz and Xani, that the Greater Terran Union capitulate, In response to the demand that Humanity swear loyalty to alien masters, In response to the demand that the Unions armies be used to fight the wars of their new overlords, In response to the demand that Earth be governed by alien overseers, The Reply from the Greater Terran Union is ‘Never’! "For Earth and her allies we fight more importantly, for freedom we shall die. For it's a just cause. VICTORY TO THE GTU AND THE COALITION!" -Unknown fleet admiral
So glad you guys mentioned the Great Khans sacrifice for the galaxy! It really made the series feel like there are other stories going on outside the story of humanity playing a key role in the survival of the galaxy! Terra Eterna my brothers and sisters! Well done!!!
Funfact: The Unbidden come from the dimension known as "The Shroud", which is basically the Stellaris-verse analogy to the Warhammer Warp... 4 powerful entities with which you can form pacts as telepathic ascened species included. ;)
Ensign: "Captain! I've picked up more ships!" Captain: "What fresh hell is this?" Ensign: "It's... the Great Khans!" *Great Khan war cry resounds over all the radios.* Captain: "...huh."
The Khan knew what was at risk. He may have been a marauder, a pirate, tyrant, and despot, but even he knew that if the Union and its allies fell, he and his empire would too. The Khan made the sacrifice, knowing he would rule and empire that expanded beyond the realm of life or death.
This is one of the coolest things I've watched. I personally think that humanity must unite, to put aside its differences, and to unite under one banner, as one people, as one UNION. We need leaders and people who arent greedy, but who cares about their followers. People who care about the uplifting of the people they lead. We need a leader to lead us who has the best interests of humanity. When the movement starts to unite us, I hope to see you on the battlefield. #HumanityFirst #StellarisInvicta
Marc, that longest hour was en speach were masterful! Larisa, you are getting better and better! I felt the adreline and fear, hope and beutifeul moments. This episode is a masterwork! Big respect to the great Khan that sacrificed himself and his forces in the most noble way possible
Oh my gosh. The Khan's sacrifice together with the counter attack that followed would be such an emotional moment in amy film or book. He basically Vegeta'd it. The old enemy, once the greatedt threat now viewed as weak and all but forgotten, coming back in their most glorious form to fight the threat that had replaced them. Knowing they could not win but not caring.
Funny that at one point the galaxy was uniting to protect itself from a human threat that they feared would try to end them. Ultimately the Humans were the deciding factor in protecting the galaxy from both the forgot threats living inside it and the unknown threats from across the rift.
@@obamagaming-zv4vy indeed. Most impressive. „For years we have fought the xenos in long bloody wars, for years we despised them and they us. But in the face of the War of the Old Ones, and later the Rift-invasion we stood together. And now, we stand here, survivors, victors. In mutual respect. And we honor those who fought and fell against those threads. For we Terrans know, that nothing is more respectable, honorable, yes nothing is more pure than to fight to the last for ones own nation. Ones people, ones home. To those who fought with us, we salute, to those who died with us, we salute. Those who became virtually exctincted, we will remember. All hail the Greater Terran Union! All hail the Coalition!“ ~Surviving General of the GTU after the Rift was destroyed This was awesome to watch, thanks a lot Templin Institue ;)
After the conclusion of this season I and probably many fans feel like GTU patriots. Long live the Greater Terran Union. Long live Earth. Long live Humanity. Long live our Galaxy.
“If this is to be our end, my brothers and sisters, then let it be such an end. Let it be one that burns a scar upon the collective memories of this galaxy forever, a memory that even when, we, the GTU were crippled and exhausted, when our battlegroups were scattered, lost, when our cities burned and are planets cracked, we bled them for every inch, we bled them for every second and every nanoliter of human blood spilt. If we are to die, then we shall go out in a blaze that rivals that of dying stars. Let them come. Let them know that never will we be bowed, bent and broken.” - Unknown Terran Admiral
quite an epic ending, it was quite funny that enemy was appearing after enemy... it would be interesting to see how new technology, dyson sphere and ringworld changed things though... well, the end is the end, better not drag this more.
I’m imagining a Templin Institute Paradox mega-campaign from Imperator Rome to Stellaris. I would pay a lot of money for a monthly subscription to that. Glory to the GTU!

I'm oddly happy to hear that Lady Grey didn't die in that particular battle, and that it actually re-coalesced together. I dunno why but that made me happy. Perhaps because it was such a singular thing in this season; out of all the species and races seen or met, or fought... there is only ONE Lady Grey.
"When history witnesses a great change, Razgriz reveals itself... first, as a dark demon. As a demon, it uses its power to rain death upon the land, and then it dies. However, after a period of slumber, Razgriz returns, this time, as a great hero." Perfect legend for our glorious Union, eh? Terra Invicta.

"I was a gunner in Battle of the Rift, in the TUS Apollo, the battle raged in cataclysmic levels. The ship was a cuiser, one of the many in the frontlines holding those interdimmensional bastards, yet I saw the TUS Unbroken fall a massive Titan-class ship. I heard the transmission too. The captain of the Unbroken spoke firmly, always, to the very end: "Our hull integrity is at 5% we cannot hold much longer, only our weapon systems are functional. I'm honoured to have served in such a glorious battle. Terra Invicta" the Unbroken snapped in two, but for several hours it's main cannons kept shooting non-stop in defiance until the Unbidden focused fire on the wreckage that was still operational. III Copeland, descendent of Rear Admiral Copeland, to her crew on board of the Corvette Samar as orders come through Fleet Command to defend the Styx System. "Engines badly damaged. Only half speed possible. Weapons at 45 percent. Armor plating is more or less gone. We're making final gun run. The outcome is doubtful, but we will do our duty. Terra Invicta." - Last transmission from Captain Natalia to Fleet Command. Battle Logs transmitted from the Samar confirmed that in its final hours, the Samar and her crew were able to heavily damage or incapacitate upwards to 5 Interdimensional ships, with two more unconfirmed. The Samar's actions bought enough time for the battlegroup she had been assigned to redeploy into more organized defensive formation, avoiding major losses later down the battle. All hands onboard the Samar were lost. Captain Natalia and her crew were posthumously awarded the Invictus Shield, awarded for actions defending the GTU beyond the call of duty as a soldier, citizen and Terran of the Greater Terran Union. The Samar also received a Terran Union Unit Citation. Captain Natalia has also been awarded the Star of Peace from the Stellar Axis, the highest possible decoration that can be given to a non-member of the Axis. Petitions are currently ongoing to upgrade Captain Natalia's Invictus Shield to the Order of Terra, the highest military and civilian award in the Greater Terran Union. As much as this is probably one of my favourite RUclips videos ever, the fact that it talked about cultural items being moved and high command (seemed) to be based in London (I must admit, I can't remember from previous episodes if it is or not) it would have brought a tear to my eye if there was a modified Churchill speech "we shall fight them amongst the stars! We shall fight them in the streets, on the beaches and on the starports! But above all! We. Shall. Never. Surrender!) Ok yes I admit I am english but seriously, it's amazing how those few sentences can generate so much national pride in the right context, and it would have been epic in this one too. Not that I am saying in anyway that this video was sub par because it was amazing.
I remember landing on the home world of the Zany. Our landing ship touched down and instantly we started taking fire. We didn't know what we were going to face. We didn't care. The only thing that mattered was victory. Thousands of us charged enemy forces on a hill. One marine with our glorious flag charged up the hill, We all followed him to victory. We killed so many of them that I hardly remember how many we killed. We then took our flag and planted it. It reminded me of the battle of Iwo Jima that my ancestor fought over 600 years ago.
For history may never forget the name:
*KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!*
"WITNESS ME!"
"Thrusting Spear" is a vaguely pornographic name for a starship.

Their sacrifice, born of courage or stupidity, will never be forgotten. F
The Khan knew what was at risk. He may have been a marauder, a pirate, tyrant, and despot, but even he knew that if the Union and its allies fell, he and his empire would too. The Khan made the sacrifice, knowing he would rule and empire that expanded beyond the realm of life or death.

Funny that at one point the galaxy was uniting to protect itself from a human threat that they feared would try to end them. Ultimately the Humans were the deciding factor in protecting the galaxy from both the forgot threats living inside it and the unknown threats from across the rift.

We killed so many of them that I hardly remember how many we killed. We then took our flag and planted it. It reminded me of the battle of Iwo Jima that my ancestor fought over 600 years ago. Glory to the GTU! TERRA INVICTA!

Honestly, I don't know how you do to get through all these endless battles while losing 3 quarters of your army. I would have rage quitted long ago! Haha! That was an amazing episode full of surprises. I love how you build a powerful narrative around the game's events!
This whole series summarized in one phrase: "There's always a bigger fish."
Prancer Correction : there’s always a bigger fish, and it’s the GTU
