Yep! Tested it after recording this a couple days ago, though I've still seen him use the Square Buff consistently on the two of them considering they all move toward hate in the same direction at the same Move
Trapping is a lot more difficult now. People can just look up what you used the day before. So though it's a good idea, it's also smart to rotate between mono wind and ice trap to better set up your ice trap.
Is it worth pushing this unit as an anti-bravery tank? Magi Piercer with the Diamond Caligae buff could set up for more damage and avoiding reaction abilities.
Not at all, turn off Magi Piercer and never think about it again, if it was on a larger AOE sure maybe, but its range makes that a terribly ineffective strategy for overall use
I'm confused what the problem with magi piercer is. Ofc he's not a pierce unit, but running alongside pierce units means he might end up with sizeable pierce atk. 200% mod makes up for it too. Pierce is also far less resisted than slash. I get that the range/angle is annoying, but otherwise reducing brv = reduced dmg output, increased dmg taken, reduced counter rates. What's not to like besides the range? I could be missing something.
He's a Tank with 1k Magic, the "damage" he does is absolutely irrelevant whether he uses Magi Piercer or some other ability in his kit. It does virtually nothing for the teamfight x's and o's or utility or survivability. In EVERY single instance I'd rather he be using literally any other ability in his kit 30 Bravery Down on a single unit is exceptionally marginal compared to him using 70 Healing Power Down, Decrease AP20, Disable, Reraiase Remove, or literally any other offensive ability in his kit
@@ReadyPlayerWill gotcha, that does put it into perspective a bit better. I guess even if enemy had Lower pierce res and Dario ends up doing more dmg with it, prob still better to use more utility moves from other skills. Makes sense, ty!
@@tanklike4413 That's 100% it, JB79 actually just had a recording yesterday where he was running a test and Dario opted to use the Magi Pierce instead of a different ability and lost the fight because of it. I'm not saying it'll NEVER be good, but the 5% of the time where it's the best choice isn't worth the downside of the 95% of the time you wish he'd used something else. The upside is VERY VERY minimal

I do wish more brv down shenanigans were viable to use, it's a cool wildcard sort of Stat that can do a decent job neutering a unit in a lot of ways, not to mention chicken (eventually)
He's still top tier, legit Top 3 best tank in the game, she just does some extra things utility wise that allow for more build flexibility. Sword Red Mage is a WAY better Rainbow job too
Kind of awkward when the new unit is only in the top 3 of it's category lol. That said, I suppose a new top tier katana or wind unit could put Dario on top meta teams.
@@pikajew9455 I dont think so to be honest, they have different purposes for what theyre supposed to do. Glaciela does a completely different job than Dario does. He is a far better magical tank, she's a far better physical tank. It's apples to oranges in what their ideal function, so yeah... but he's a "top 3 tank" he's a "number 1 magic tank"

An idea for GB def is to put Dario out as your front unit & run him with New Oberon & Sol for an ice trap.
