Has anyone ever noticed that guys who have been playing guitars for say 4 decades-ish.
They handle their guitars in a way that is so powerful like it’s part of their fingers.
It’s a simple extremely relaxed confidence part of them.
Not taking anything away from the newer musicians. It’s just it’s powerful to notice

I still love the original from mott and i always will. It was the special because my bf at the time made a mix tape of that version, but mick cannot carry what it truly needed. Paul can sing the hell out of it , he is the missing ingredient for after lights to shine. This version is softer, it doesnt have that squealing guitar part but paul just uses his vocal to give the piece that added fire. He is unmatched. What an unbelievable talent he has. He will always be the voice of bc for me. He has aged well, still sexy as hell too. Love paul💟💟💟💟💟💟🌹🌹🌹

Paul Rodgers is and will always be a freak of nature. He was one of the top 5 male vocalists of rock at that time. Not only has he stood the test of time, he actually sounds BETTER. I'm going on record in calling him the "Sinatra of rock".

In my opinion, Rodgers has one of the very best ever rock, if not most quintessential, rock voices of all times. I would say, "The Quintessential Rock Voice." He has everything ... right-on pitch, the perfect quantity of gravel; a ton of feeling; and just an amazing rock delivery. Although there are many rock singers that I love and admire, in my opinion, no one compares to Paul Rodgers for the perfect rock voice.

Unfortunately 3 of those guys aren't alive today. And Paul's voice sure has lasted longer than Ian's. Jimmy was good before he got sick. Very similar voices Paul and Jimmy. Greatest of all hard to say who that would be.

Man, rock n roll. When I was about 8 or 9 living on a poor but very peaceful and lovely island in south Vietnam,(early 70s and the American soldiers were there already I remember) mom out of the blues bought me this T-shirt. It had the picture of 4 white men with extremely long hair. I didn't know who they were or what it was. I just loved it. Then in 1980, I went to St John's NFLD, also an island in the east coast of Canada. One day I happened to be in a music store going through the albums looking for some good music to buy. That same picture showed up, my God. It was the Beatles. I bought the album without even thinking. Brought it home and listened to it. Then the song called Let It Be popped up. Oh man, was it ever good. I got addicted to rock n roll since that moment. Then it was time for high school. I became friends with a couple guys. You know how the magic shrooms grow wild in NFLD. After class we just headed straight to the field and picked the goodies . Man, it was magic for sure. We stayed inside, listened to Floyd, Stones , Thin Lizzy, Bad company, Santana and of course, the Beatles. Music was so great and meaningful back then. Today, I can't even listen to any of the new music for 3 minutes . you can say I'm old fashioned and stuck with the past but heh it's the most beautiful past I've ever had in my life. Keep on rocking my idols. I love you all.

Wow to include after lights in there!!! Just beautifully done in paul Roger's fashion.
I believe this was the song that solidified Ralphs and Roger's back when Ralph's was still with mott the hoople.
Originally done with a much baluster approach it was much more guitar heavy was bass I think.
Here it is slowed down considerably which showcases Roger's talents well.
He gives it the power it needs to soar.
Truly a remarkable front man with the scorching vocal range to take bc to the top.
40 plus years still going strong.
Roger's has always been in my eyes one of the most powerful soulful sexiest frontmen of the 1970s.
    Truly a legend❤
