I kinda thought the the races would have gone the other direction with the X3 doing better from the rolling start, not that the M3P's don't have umph to get up to speed either. Lucky for me this isn't an issue because I like to keep my license.
@@JFlywheel For initial acceleration the motor is already maxed out of power at 75%+ battery, so any battery range 75%+ will give you the same 0-60, but in a 1/4 the higher the charge the faster the car because at higher speeds the motor requires more power than at lower speed and the battery won't be able to max it out on lower charge. Anything below 50% the car starts to run the 1/4 mile in 11.7-11.9 seconds instead of 11.4-11.5 seconds. 0-60 time goes up to 3.6-3.9 seconds when you get below 50% compared to 3.1-3.2 seconds at 75% SoC, but still gives a good kick and a lot faster, as you said, than regular cars on the road. Imagine if it was a M3/4 XDrive instead of X3M. Can you say gapped😂. Relax Tesla nerds you still have the plaid but ICE has everything else!! Elon design a Tesla that looks better with more choices beside black and white interior👎
Carwow already did this race and included an RS5 (or 3). M3C AWD won all the races but lost the brake test.
Except for the fact that the Model 3 P is almost $25k less than the XDrive in the US and no high premium fuel costs lol. So yeah, I would expect the XDrive to gap the M3P, but it isn't $25k USD worth of a gap lol
@@RxPharmer well you don't get much other than a tablet slapped on the dash in a M3P. Have you been in a G20 M3C or M340? They are an entirely different car. The M3P with it's cheap built quality, paint, alignment issues, fighting right to repair, refusal to sell replacement parts to anyone other than dealers, on and on I could go. I like Tesla for some reasons and like what Elon is trying to do, but they are turning into Apple with their proprietary crap and refusing RTR.
@@M340B58 I've been in a fully loaded X5 before. Far prefer my wife's Cayenne. Regardless, I have an M3P. If I could've gotten an XDrive for the same price I would've, but at the price US dealers are wanting for one, I'd rather just get a model S long range.
The build quality on my M3P is not bad at all. I had a flawless pickup. I had zero issues with paint, panels, etc. Those issues are not as prevalent as they used to be. The seats are plush and comfortable for long road trips. It's a minimal interior and very easy to maintain. I like it that way. I don't need all the physical buttons lining the dash.
@@RxPharmer What month did you get your car in? I got mine November 2021 and it was riddled with paint defects like uneven raggedy paint on the edges at the trunk lift, and paint overspray on the edge of the bumper the paint dried running down so there's like a droplet.
What are the rattling and clanking noises in the tesla
cos race car bro
well, that happens when you put a sleepy guy behind the wheel of a Tesla ;) wakey-wakey :)))
Bro that X3 Comp just blew my mind bro wow that things quick 😂😂😂
That Tesla is not that fast
Dude listen to that cabin noise in the tesla holy hell. Terrible build quality and noise isolation. X3m smoked that shih tho
It’s ripped apart lol
@@SamCarLegion damn lol
Sam, we need to see what charge level the Tesla was at and what the temp is outside. It makes a world of difference. Also, you need to make sure the Tesla has the most up to date OTA update, and the wind isn’t blowing against the Tesla. I also recommend folding the mirrors in, driving the Tesla naked to save additional weight, and I believe one of the OTA’s gives more power to a Tesla when the moon is full.
lmaoooo
Tesla 3.1 and bmw 3.3 something is not adding up right
Yall think the x3 is fast wb the x6?
Did the BMW have any modifications at all or was it truly 100% stock?
I am sure it was stock. That thing is a beast. Probably my next purchase
What are the wheels on the model 3 performance?
It’s not even a model 3 performance no badge and wrong rims video is very misleading
Tesla was so quiet he fell asleep at the line
Model 3 performance vs Tuned Audi S3??
BRING BACK THE OLD INTRO MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
X3m Comp🔥🔥
Was a great race and that s58 is a beast of a motor. The bmw was running some mixture of ethanol (e30/e50) and was on JB4. Regardless, it was a great shakedown, and even fully stock, the bmw would have the tesla at the top end from a roll. The bmw also launches much harder than the tesla…it’s a brilliant car.
Seriously, they are trying to pass off a modded car as stock again?
Sorry, but what proof do you have that the X3m has a Jb4?
??? Where did you get this info did Sam give it only to you…
X3M has tune or JB4 ...
X3M❤️👿🚀🤩
Wow, that was some slow start for the Tesla. Shouldn't be doing drag races if reaction time is so slow. Should caveat future drag races by saying 'Captain Slow!' is behind the wheel. Sorry James May, someone has taken your mantle.
Great job BMW !
Tesla rattles like walmart shopping cart
cos race car bro
Something doesn't sit well, no way the BMW launched faster ... Please disclose all the details
Imagine a simple 90hp tune on the BMW
No way in the world an M3P on 18" (even on 255) will be beaten by an X3m comp stock on a 1/4 miles if the Tesla is over 50% battery.
You should get another driver Sam and just act as a host.
Damn Tesla fanboys are toxic lmao
You have the same reaction time off the line as a koala 🐨 bear. Still trying to figure out why you wouldn’t have gone back and done another race? I’m a G80 M3 xDrive owner so I was pulling for BMW but Model 3’s are quick off the line and I’d like to have seen a legit race
You got to stop doing this shit... both cars are nice ... I'm getting too many really crap drivers harassing me on the road in mine for 'races'
Just enjoy your cars...
First race Tesla driver reaction time of a dead slug. On rolling one guy short shifts the x3m so early 🤷🏻♂️
Model Y Performance is more similar than this Model 3 Performance...
This video is terrible misleading that’s not even a duel motor model 3 wrong rims and no badge on the back🤦♂️
Guy had reaction time of a sloth
I think you just fell asleep at the wheel.
You need a model S or X performance to keep up with that X5 m performance
Pre condition the car and the Tesla will beat it.
petrol turbo engines are much more powerful from electric cars !
electric cars canot be tuning ...
Weight distribution....
🔥
You are just not good at racing dude
Ur videos get hard to watch for me lol cs u alwyas End up driving the slow cars and lose 😂💀
Only caveat is a new X3M Competition currently sells for $83k, $20k more than a $62k m3p. If i wasn't concerned about economy to own, and the lack of significant rear seat legroom, this would've been my choice... as such, i purchased a new '21 MYP for $62k 15 months ago. $9 to go 210ish miles semi aggressive driving, or $9 to go 270ish miles taking it easy. Love thos X3M's👍
But the X3M is a thousands time better and more beautiful than this ugly vacuum cleaner
@@hassanger8128 better.?.? in terms of rear seat legroom, not even close. Back seat was too small for our liking. Even my '18 Accord had substantially more legroom in the 2nd row than the x3 does. Your requirements clearly were different than mine. Choice, it's a great thing🤙
the tesla cope in these comments is craaaazy
Worst driving I’ve seen. Sleeping at the start in Model 3. Horrible driver. Snooze.
Fake is not m3p
Please launch the Tesla next time cause we could hear you flooring the Tesla just after you go the green light
Please next time hold the break and press full throttle and wait for the green light then only release the break and shoot out
no, thats not the fastest method to launch it. I did some videos about best times, the best method is to deactivate all nannys, put the car on roll instead of hold and just smash the pedal.
62k vs 76k and whatever the dealer wants to mark that bmw up to, 86k? Your getting to close to a model X price tag, 114k with no more gas, and faster, and better tech. I'll stick with the Tesla.
It's just that the Tesla body design is terrible. Similar to an egg on wheels
@@williamwilson5125 Man if that's suppose to be an egg on two wheels, fucking sign me up, and I guess everyone else that's waiting in line to get one. Fucking gorgeous.
@@WilliamDeanPlumbing if Tesla had real competition in the Ev world as far as infrastructure goes the lines would be vacant. Other ev car makers will evolve with better support eventually but for the present Tesla has the market cornered and design has nothing to do with it when Tesla is mentioned.
@@williamwilson5125 If there was real competition for Tesla than there would be a huge charging infrastructure in place for it, but since Tesla has already produced that first, and taken up all the good spots, Remember Bluray and HDDVD, one of them won the war because they put out the movies at 4 times the pace, why by the competition, when you have to fight to charge while on trips. You would have to be out of your mind to buy any thing else. The completion is already dead, they just don't know it yet. While they keep getting deeper and deeper into debt chasing the already cash cow Tesla has become, Tesla keep remaining 10 steps ahead in technology as well.
@@WilliamDeanPlumbing because Tesla dominates the infrastructure still doesn't justify buying a car hideously designed. It's almost like marrying a woman just because she has nice tits and face is smashed. Never settle, you will aways regret it in the long run, especially if you werent attracted to her in the first place and you know there is much more attractive options if you take your time and not rush just because she's the only woman in town with big tits.
There is no way SUV can beat performance Tesla , I'll take P3D any time any day way better than x3
Plug-in hybrid fast suvs are the most I’ve gone. I just think we are in beta mode on electric vehicles right now... long way to go. Meanwhile just drove to Moab in a plug-in hybrid X5 45e from napa and this thing pull 660 out of a tank , and has about 400hp and nearly 500lb ft , and averaged 30 mpg loaded down at 80, and still that b58 would kick in when I asked and help pass and drop a few cars before popping back into hybrid eco pro mode and cruising again. See that’s the way to go in my opinion 5600 lb vehicle loaded down with people and gear and still quick as hell and economical. To note I do not have the m sport package and I have the smallest tires and wheels offered because I wanted the gas milage and we live on land with dirt and rocks 🪨 22’s just don’t make sense for us. I get better milage for it and it still kills in the mountains for its size and kinda passed it... like what business does a 5600 lb suv have doing diff torque turns and stepping the tail out?! 😳 this IS NOT THE FAST ONE EITHER ! Anyway bmw fangirl here rant over. The Tesla was very fast no doubt just wanna say that. Don’t kill me too hard in the comments 😂🤷🏾♀️ #ilovemyeurotrash 😝
