Hi there my friend;I’ve been watching your videos for some time and seen many variety of tents you have tried out;with some you liked and some you disliked….now as for single layered tents and more so ;the ones with external poles:just a little advise you may like….go ahead and buy a perfect size bivvy tarp to place over the top of the frame and attach peg it into place…it works well and the distance between the tent and the tarp is a perfect distance and it does help;also leave open vents on your tent, also the weight of a tarp is not much and can be kept within your rucksack or attached to the outside….keep up the good work mate and stuff the haters…you’re doing a great job;because there’s no right or wrong way to camping;if you enjoy it;then do it….it’s all one learning curve…all the best,Karl 😁👍
I really like your channel I have learn a ton of new information and your country just beautiful I did some camping in you country we camped out in pluckley village, a really beautiful little town loved the pub God bless you and your family. I look forward to your videos and am all smiles when you have one up I like you and grizzly gaz. A very nice little tent. I like that tent that is a great tent to stealth camp in. I love stealth camping
Its a cracking tent. Getting on really well with mine. I pack mine in a stuff sack and separate the poles. Tiny pack size then. ...its now my go to tent for 2023 Great video Dan 😎👍
Another good wee vid/Review Dan,honest and straight to the point. Good solo vid. You work well on your own with no distraction from others I think you should keep it that way,Vegan Outdoors was best company for you, just my honest opinion Dan. Keep up the good work.😀
What I like about this tent, is that it could make the setting up and taking down times quicker when stealth camping. Currently I use either a phox II VII or a Jackal II, but I could see a tent like this coming in handy for discrete one nighters.
Its definitely a great tent for the money and weight I've used mine loads of times i can't fault it There simply is no double wall tent out there that gets down to 1 kg Unless its dyneema and then your paying big big bucks I'll never stop looking so journey continues 😅😂🤣hope have as much luck with the Vik as i have 👍
I am not a lover of single wall tents ! , I now have visions of the tent sat there with some Sirloin Steaks holding it down ! 😂😊 , I do like the Magnetic closing door catches though , Be Well mate .
@@englishwoodsman Yes: it is Ha, Ha. We in the United States also say we 'peg' out a tent or that we stake it down. AH WELL...a single heritage separated by ONE language!😊
The overall footprint of the tent seems pretty good for summer camping. The magnets would get annoying, and it would be nice to see one at the top. They do make it seem a lot easier to get that flap held down from the inside as opposed to Velcro or something similar. Maybe I should invest in a lightweight tent finally, I've been using a tarp/mosquito net combo for so long being uncomfortable is just a way of life 😅.
Top video again EW. 👍After a lot of research I've gone for the Cloud Up 2 for my road trips. But even though it'll get used 99% of the time on campsites, it had to be the Forest green 😁
Have you ever looked into fishing bivvys dan they’re amazing tenths they are a bit expensive and also heavy so definitely not for backpacking but they come in amazing designs and they’re made out of top quality materials definitely worth looking at all fishing shops sell them. They are designed for carp anglers
Yes I think so too it's great I've used mine time and time again no issues Only thing is can't sit up in it If it's raining all day tarp out all good but it does add the weight though But definitely the good old phoxx 1 is a winner
Would like to see if it really is water proof, on a blustery night . Looks like it could handle the wind but rain and wind can lead to a miserable cold night.
I like single wall tent a specially in UK because of the rain. For one day I don't care much about condensation. This one seems to be quite fragile. Little blow of wind and you may have a problem but between trees deep in a forest should be fine :)
I realy do like this tent aswell, thanks for the review. What I'm curious about tho is: How is the seam sealing on this one? Do you have to apply this yourself or is it off factory so to speak? and since the material is 20D, what is the water collum on it? In other words: how is the rain resistance for this tent? Can it hold up to the english weather? Could you do a review ont that when you have used it for a certain periodof time?
Its a summer tent would like someone come up with a alrounder backpacking tent thats affordable. Seen a man use one in snow vik 1 but i wouldnt recommend it.
Is it seam sealed or do you have to do that yourself like the Lanshan Pro single wall tents? Not looking good re condensation according to this review ruclips.net/video/RMUYRmGxB0o/видео.html
@@Adventures_with_SogI’ve got the Vik 1 and it’s great for the money. Works well in high wind and you get no condensation. However you get get a decent amount of condensation during calm night. For the low weight and cost though it’s a banger. All tents get condensation even hillebergs. I sold my hilleberg and bought a vik 1!

All tents should be green... Good video as usual Dan...ATB Chris.
I also LIKE the combination of useful vents on the bottom and on the top. THAT is what exhausts a lot of the condensation from this single-wall tent.
The vents are a great idea

Good value for its size Dan and includes ground sheet. Color is a winner. Bushyboy Oz
English, I don’t care what anyone thinks about you. You are the man buddy. You have the best camping channel hands down.👍

Why call yourself 'vegan outdoors'? Who gives a shit whether they're vegan or whatever?

I like the look of that tent, I do agree I prefer double layer tents because of added heat and it cuts down condensation
Thank you for your comment
@englishwoodsman you are welcome Dan, I love your chamel 👍
I do like that colour, the single wall bothers me, it seemed alright in yesterday's video though, cheers Dan, see you in the next one 👍⛺️
I look forward to using this tent more mate
Pretty decent for a single wall. Looking forward to the test drive

Good review. Just ordered this tent. Going to use it for bikepacking.
Great colour 💚 for camping ⛺️ Love ❤️ it.
Nice
It's a great colour mate
Always a green tent for camouflage in the woods

The vic 2 seems to better then most single skin tents for the condensation but i would expect it with tents great tent review dan
That is a neat looking little semi free standing tent!
THANK YOU

Bought a Naturehike Cloud Up 2X for £50 last week, not used it yet though!
Like the look of that one Dan. 👍
I have the mongar 2 and the cloud peak 2 in forest green. And they perform great for budget jobs.
Whats the cloud peak like in winter
Looks a good tent! Can’t wait for the test.
The Oex Phoxx 1 is the bomb
Yes I think so too it's great

Very good review...👍🏽💪🏽
It'd be nice if there was a dark navy blue version. I love the Vik 1 but it's like a beacon with the light grey color.
I saw the dark blue in the vik 1 it looks very nice
@@englishwoodsmanOh wow I haven't seen it. Got a link? I've only seen it in grey.

I’ve had my Vik 1 on a ridge in high winds and it was solid. My mates alpkit tent next door collapsed 😂
@@KOL630 Hehe must look nice :D
Good video.. what is the proper English breakfast? I want to do one on my camping trip this weekend
Like number 967 my friend 👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
A year later, any updates? I'd love to hear what you have to say about it after extended usage.
Another good honest review mate. Nice one but they still don’t interest me .
Hi Dan! What is that pouch thingy around your mug called? Trying to find something so i wont burn my hands on my cup :)
It's saying they are unavailable right now

Not sure I like single skin tents, but this does look good.
Not a big fan of little tents gotta have room for a cot I’m older. Have fun stay safe
Which you do you prefer hyena 2 or the vik2?
If that was a double walled tent i would buy it 🤔
I hope naturehike are thinking about doing in double wall as well

It looks a bit baggy,
Will it pitch better
The tent manufacturers are scared to call the pegs stakes in case you throw them in a pan with onion and garlic and cook them up for your supper. 😊
❤
I think you like forest green😊
I dunno why they make tents any other colour. Well, for kids and festivals I suppose. But most of them should be dark green. Or camouflage!
100% mate
Need get waterproof tent💧
Impossible to find a green one although some greedy Harry is selling them for £400 on Amazon.

If its lighter tent you can bring more steak😅

My caris lighter without the accessories but it doesn't work so well with no wheels or an engine. 😂
You don't need a hiking stick, you're in a wood, just pick up a stick😂
My thoughts too I have a brilliant stick of hazel, does the same job
Sometimes, there might not be a stick around in up a Mountain !
