Love Matt's off road recovery, but Rory is the undisputed King when it comes to really difficult terrain recoveries and in the field repairs . Very impressive !
Whelp… I love both channels but I think this one video shows that you do not underestimate Rory. I actually change my vote for you for the olympics show off…🎉
Some recoveries like this could not be done alone, like this skyhook. You need the right team and years of knowledge to boot, Matt has a great truck being built along with Fab Rats. Rory has already proved his truck on many many occasions, time will see if the others can catch up.
@@brianmichaud3668 That's a good point, Rory's wrecker is tried and true where MORR and Fab Rats will have new rigs. Gonna be fun to watch that's for sure!
@@TrevorDennis100 I don't know about that. I've seen Matt and his crew pull off some pretty sketchy recoveries. Particularly one out of Hog Canyon with the Fab Rats crew. That had to be one of the wildest recoveries I've ever seen.
@@ThunderBear4WD I think it'd be different with a rebuilt RRTT and the morrvair. I bet it wouldn't be neat as challenging. Papa sherms wrecker has come a long way. Although it was pretty sweet as it was

Easy Peasy ! ( seriously , i DO wonder if it'll fit. TrailMater's cab looked ok , "oopsie" on the boom ! 😲 😅 , Gee i've gotta guess MATT planned for it , @ least for when its swept-down. We shall see 🔍👀 )
What is truly wonderful about Rory is that he approaches all situations thoughtfully, determines a method to fix the issue and is humble when the situation is fixed. Developing the rescue and recovery of the first vehicle was amazing, using various winch lines and shackles to quickly and safely get it back to level ground. The whole trail mater crew is one of a kind.
It’s insane where some of these off roaders go and get themselves in trouble. What’s even more insane is how talented you guys are in getting those messes taken care of.
Good think Rory has been in every situation. Pulls up. Yea we'll just run 16 winches make a nice overhead puller and get her it right out. Same with the axle. Really impressive work there Rory. Thanks for bringing us along. Thanks to Mike and Shaun for the filming and stuff they do.
Rory, your natural talent for rescue/recovery really shined through on this episode. You, Shawn and Mike are a very good team. Thank you for keeping it real.
Geeeeez Louise.. WOW! That episode should have a full spot on 60 Minutes or something. Thermal mocha frappe lattes and all. Awesome rigging contraption on the buggy extraction!
The sky hook recovery was amazing, and I never cease to be amazed by the ability of Trail Mater, the second recovery also impressive given where you backed Trail Mater and then pulled the jeep up that incline. It’s a pure joy tinged with a little anxiety watching you and your team work together Rory. Stay safe and stay awesome.
As an old trucker who has had many loads needing cranes to be unloaded, I am fascinated with the rigging process to get the job done. The thought process the get the buggy outta the crack is amazing. 🤘
Rory, you have the best channel of the Gang of 4 or 5. Your videos exude quiet confidence. If I were to describe 'em in one word it would be 'calm'. No drama, just you and Mater idling up and down wherever you need to go. I see great driving and design and no-drama performance. That's better than the other stuff out there, even though they are all really good as well. I have no doubt that you will walk away with first place in the tow truck competition.
I said it in the last video,, If Rory can't get you out of where you shouldn't be then you might as well set your rig on fire. So...... Not yet. AWESOME recovery....😎👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
You have gained about 100,000 subs since incorporating the crew into the videos, but I think the biggest pay-off for you is the comradery and the fun factor. You appear to be enjoying the work much more these days and that really shows up in the quality of the videos.
The technical and mechanical knowledge of the Moab Motorsports Crew never fails to impress. Imagineering put into action. Not to mention the beast known as TrailMater. Vegas bookies should be putting odds on the Tow Truck Olympics. Been a fun ride watching Matt going from “Winches are a waste of time, to seeing how they use them now and how they are being integrated into the heavy wrecker”. I think I give Rory and Crew the edge on technical know how. The MORR crew probably wins when it come to the “ When in doubt we’ll use brute force and ignorance to get them out” method. Paul and the FabRats crew will be the unknown factor, they always seem to get the job done, and they know how to build a capable rig. Wheeling in Utah is probably the safest place in the west to get a little crazy, lot’s of help nearby to help!! Keep up the great work Rory and Crew... you guys are wicked! Awesome entertainment.
One would think watching these recoveries it would get old and boring.....BUT IT DOESN'T. All you guys are artisans of physics. Rory, you are right, math + science + skill+ determination= a safe recover. You work is ALWAYS a good watch.
Just like Rory. Drive half way off the face of a steep cliff to recover someone. Don't think you have enough winches. That has to be one of the wildest recoveries to date. Great job Rory and crew.

That was an impressive bit of trail geometry there, well done. I noticed that you had everyone quiet and just you 'conducting'! Exactly right, too many cooks spoil the broth!
That sky hook rigging was very cool fantastic way to get that buggy out of that situation. Can’t imagine Matt’s getting that one out with his snatch rope
