Update: The very next day I was able to pet him. All it took was petting him that one time. He’s been my buddy ever since. I wish I could share a pic of the cutie.
I wish I used this technique. I had a stray kitten around too, but I pretended not to see him & swiped him up while he was eating the cat food on the air conditioner. We named him “Naruto” because of how quick he is to run. I just used this now & realized he & my other female cat immediately followed the sound. I wish I used it on another cat before. My mom’s friend had a kitten she asked if we could take care of it, so she dropped it off around our lawn for us to catch. I wish she had just handed it to us but my dad isn’t really fond of pets. I was expecting to catch it eventually but unfortunately when my dad left for work one morning (construction/pipe excavation), he was sleeping in the work truck engine & ran out when it started but unfortunately got ran over with its guts smushed out. I still cry thinking about it sometimes. Although my dad is jaded & the type of workaholic to keep driving regardless of animals & obstacles, he still felt horrible over it & I hated that I didn’t try harder to catch the cat before that tragedy. I’m so glad I caught this kitten tho & he’s happy he doesn’t have to hide outside in the freezing temperature or thunderstorms anymore. I think he may be the son of my old cat (Simba, they’re both orange) who had half his tail torn from the flesh, which eventually fell off completely. He ran off because he wasn’t neutered, same with my old black cat (Malakai) who Simba bullied growing up & they crash out into war every time they meet (I assume Malakai was the one who tore up his tail). I really miss them both. Naruto is fond of my older white cat (Nova, he kept rubbing on him which made me assume he was the father at first) which is probably why he stuck around. I had a white cat before him (Fluffy) that also ran off when he became mature. I plan to get Nova & Naruto neutered because genuinely our neutered cats are the only ones who haven’t ran off. I’m sure Naruto is glad he’s no longer a stray & gets to relax on my bed instead of finding a spot in the freezing temperatures in the woods + thunderstorms in this area. He’s been playing with my female grey cat (Smokey) in my room, but she needs to be spayed eventually before Naruto hits puberty. I can tell he loves being spoiled with petting. He’s still a bit wild but adjusting & becoming more calm overall.
@The sounds on this video really worked, but I honestly think the kitten that came here either got out of someone’s house and ran off or someone dumped it because he was too easy to tame down. He was scared but he never hissed or growled at me - still hasn’t to this day. He doesn’t even meow too often now so he’s pretty quiet overall. He’s gotten so big since I found him over the summer!! I need to go get him fixed so we aren’t contributing to a bunch of stray cats around here. We have had several dogs and cats growing up too. My sister had a golden retriever named Simba, we had two German Shepherds named Shanzi and Bonzi, plus many others. We named several after The Lion King characters because that was one of our family favorite Disney movies. My brother used to watch Naruto so I know who that is too lol. So sorry to hear about some of the bad things that happened to your pets. We had some horrible things like that happen to a few of ours as well unfortunately 😭.

My cat got really scared when she saw something outside the window. She was hiding under the bed for over an hour until I played this video. A couple minutes into it she hopped onto my bed and started purring. Now I know the perfect video to help calm my cat down

There was the cutest little black kitten with big green eyes discovered this morning, meowing it’s little brains out inside my car under the engine (neighbors heard all night but didn’t know where it was because it was IN THE HOOD), there were several attempts by humans to reach in and grab it out, but it was so scared and after putting water and milk and jingling keys and talking, the little kitten wouldn’t come out because it was so scared and I played this video and the kitten came out from car and ran to the phone. I say all of this to say thank you so much for making this video. It helped tremendously and save the little sweetheart’s life. It was fed and given water and went on its little way.
