  • 5 Minutes with a Fender Japan Junior Collection Stratocaster into a Tone Master Deluxe Reverb
    A quick run through all the pickup selector positions and then mostly in 4th position after that.
    Audio is the cab sim option 2 direct out of the Tone Master Deluxe Reverb with a bit of the audio from the iPhone Mini video blended in.
    Amp is in the 0.5W Mode with Volume at 5.5, Treble & Bass at 5 and Reverb at 3.
    As usual, apologies for my mediocre meandering noodles.

    I didn't know that Fender even came out with this series. Now I do, so thank you. I will be buying a bass for sure

      I was late to the party as well. Also curious about the basses since I like my little Squier Bronco so much.

    That pink pastel color is as beautiful as its tone 🤌💯

      It's a nice pink, the finish on some of these is more of a satin matte vs glossy which I prefer. I have a Junior Sonic Blue Tele as well I will get around to making a video with eventually. Thanks for watching!

    I decided I needed a short scale guitar after watching Chris Buck praising a Fender Duo Sonic. I ordered a Tidepool Duo Sonic from Regent Sounds, Denmark St. After about 3 weeks I went to the store to check if it had arrived and saw a Daphne blue Junior Strat hanging on the wall. Instantly I knew this was my next guitar.I asked if it was ok to cancel the Duo and buy the Strat. It was and I now own the best guitar for my needs I can imagine.

    Are the Pickups good? Are you overall satisfied with the guitar? Would you recommend the guitar to someone with short fingers? Is the neck thinner? 😅 Nice playing btw!!

    • @mattoverse
      @mattoverse  9 месяцев назад +2

      I like the pickups fine but am not much of a pickup switcher so probably not a very informed opinion. Satisfied with the guitars overall, great for smaller hands. Neck is a pretty standard C shape likely the same as mexi/american strats.

    Thanks for the vids! I've tried both a Junior Strat and Tele at one of the, (rare), stores that stock them and I think they are really great but nearly all seem to be pink in the UK. I want Daphne Blue with a maple neck and after a lot of enquiries it seems I've got to buy from Japan through eBay just like you. Have you got any recommendations for Japan re-sellers, it seems a bit of a minefield.

      I went through a seller called flever_shop on Ebay, came in a week or less, did have to pay an import fee after fact, about $60 or so per guitar. My experience with the two I ordered was good but can't provide much insight beyond that.

    Sounds really nice! How do you find the workmanship on the guitar? I've tried a few of these in my local shop (the strat, tele, and the jazz bass), and the QC seems a bit spotty in terms of fretwork and finishing.

      @mattoverse  10 месяцев назад +4

      I imported this strat and a tele from Japan through Ebay. Actually, pretty satisfied overall with the fit/finish. Haven't had any pro setups done on either yet and they both seem to be playing pretty well with nice rounded fret ends etc.. Maybe I just got lucky but Japan Fenders usually have a pretty good reputation.

    As a skinny person, a strat body always feels a bit too big on me. This will be perfect. I was thinking of a Suhr Pro S1 for a while because it is smaller , now this will be much more affordable

    22 frets and a 2 point trem are usual on Mexican Strats but I've not seen that on Japanese ones before (sheltered life maybe). The quality control on Japanese instruments is first rate. I had a Blue Flower Telecaster for years and it was perfect out of the box. Nice guitar and tone you have there :)

      I am enjoying it, really like short scale guitars but like this a bit better overall than a duo-sonic or mustang. Thanks for watching.

    Would you recommend DR over PRRI? How about home use? Is it too loud?

    • @mattoverse
      @mattoverse  9 месяцев назад

      Can't say for sure, haven't had the opportunity to try the PRRI. More bass available with the 12" but I like 1x10's too so could be fun. The attenuator on the back is pretty heavy. I find the quietest attenuator setting useful for being quiet, but I don't like the sound of it as well as the other settings and usually play it in 0.5W or 1W mode for videos etc..
