The fuck? This song was THE ONE that stuck in my head most of all Pokemon songs from Gen II and I had no idea why (except that maybe I was actually so bored in National Park that the music was the only thing worth concentrating on.) I recently got into listening to it again, orchestral - and you release this awesome ass cover. The beginning would so awesomely smooth. Of course, you had to rock it out - which is fine too. Having two versions - one mellow and one rocking might have been cool. Either way though, it's awesome regardless and thanks much for making it.
I have to say I really enjoy the diversity of this piece and it resonates with me deeply each and every note. It’s by far my favourite Pokemon game cover EVER of anyone’s. It’s a masterpiece.
Jesus Jules, Not only did you inflict heavy nostalgia damage on me, but you reinvented the song completely, giving it a new vibe and incorporating your signature style. Well done, and keep up the good work! B.T.W, for the next Pokemon cover you do, please do Red's Theme. Thanks c:
Teamflare Grunt I have not played the first games, but the internet praised that theme a lot, so I listened to it, and in my opinion Cynthia's theme is better.
and it was at that moment, @1:20, when I could not contain myself anymore. I developed goose bumps at the same time. You sir, have won yourself a subscriber. Thank you for this. I am over three years late but holy cow man, this just blew me away. Thank you so much! And at a time when school, work, and life in general have got me redefining limits!
I admit, I came to this video thinking it wouldn't capture the grace and serenity of the National Park theme, but this is beautiful. If feels homey and just makes me want to relax. Great job c:
10 months of listening to this, and 1:21 still gives me goosebumps. I have to say, I think that your National Park and Corridors of Time are some of your best covers ever.
Dude the ending to this was just such an amazing subversion of expectations taking this song from an absolutely amazing yet (not that it would have taken away from the value of it) predictable cover to something truly spectacular. Bravo man.
When someone asks what your job is, just say "I blow people's minds for a living" Another badass cover man. Never seen someone blend such awesome acoustic and metal covers like you do on the daily
aw~ memories~ i remember playing though silver at night and hearing the 8-bit music. so relaxing~ and then when soul silver came out, they made a great remix and even put in the original in there though the Ipod thing. such great memories trying to catch all the bug pokemon there.
DUDE DUDE DUDE DUDE DUDE DUDE OH MY GOD THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING THING IVE EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE. WHEN THE DROP HIT IT WAS LIKE MY DEPRESSION GOT BLOWN AWAY.
Dang! Great job on the mix here, man! I couldn't help but smile a bit when the distortion hit and my foot started rumbling about because I was resting it on my subwoofer. I'm personally having a shit ton of trouble getting a desired mesh of bass and clarity on my tracks.
Six years later and this is still one of my favorite covers from you of one of my pieces. The smoothness, the serene vibe and then POW! the listener gets hit with your signature styling. All came together quite nicely.
i was walking my way back home the other day when this song came up on my phone again. so much nostalgia! nearly 10 years later and i still just can't get over how mind blowing this cover is, just so many layers of beauty, it's amazing!
Jules, you fucking nailed it man. The quality in your tone is soo powerful sounding, it really complimented that lead you threw down at 1:19. You should really consider redoing your really old medleys with this new level of quality. Keep rocking man.
Every now and again I find myself coming back here. Even after 5 years the intro gets me in a way I don't know how to describe precisely, but there's probably a German word for it lol. Best of luck as you keep going forward Jules. I've always loved your covers and your mario 64 speed runs.
Memories of Bug catching, the Poke'ball grass patches, the teacher with the Persian who gave you the Quick Claw, and that gap in the fence that led to TM28 Dig are flooding back to me.
I love the beginnings of Lake of Rage, Ecruteak City and the complete version of this one so much that I really wish there would be more Pokémon covers like this. Especially the Gen 2 soundtrack is perfect for this. Your covers are exceptional work and I hope you have great success in the future.
I've been searching for a cover/remix of this song that would captured the essence of rhe original; a calm start followed by some real jam. I can't believe I didn't hear your cover before, it's truly amazing, faithful to the original composition but it also has your style.
I think my favorite thing about Jules is that he can start something off with some crazy smooth jazz and then make a flawless transition into kick-ass metal. It always amazes me.
Good on you man, there's some songs that just have these perfect chord progressions and when you nailed it I can't help but smile. As far as models, the Treadplate reminds me of the Mesas, so if you want something more detailed and rich I'd give the Solo (Soldano modeled) one a shot! Also I missed your shreds ;)
at first I didn't recognize the song, but later at 1:19 I kinda got a clue. I even had to listen to the original to see if I remembered about it, then it came to me; though I don't remember spending much time in PKMN National Park at all. Anyway, great work as always, jules! :)
This is so fucking sick man, absolutely love it! Pokemon Red and Silver were my childhood and it's really cool to hear a arrangement like this. Keep up the awesome work!
I just fell in love with this song and learned it on guitar about 2 weeks ago. When i saw your hint last week i was hopeful it would be this. Fantastic job once again man!
I think I've found my favorite song ever It literally put me in tears the first time I heard it and just Memories came back and I have a crappy memory too so just... idk words can't explain how nostalgic and badass this cover is
This was the background music of my entire day. Since I woke up until now that I'm going to sleep. I just listened it more than 50 times. Thanks Jules for making my day happier.
Thank you so much. This is by far my favorite Pokemon song ever and maybe one of my favorite songs ever, and this cover does it justice. Beautiful in the beginning, and totally kickass afterwards. Thanks a ton. I don't know if I could ever stop listening to this.
Nice job on this on Jules. I love how you use your PRS as a less overbearing but still smooth sounding bass. And that dissonance; maybe I just don't listen to enough music, but I'm so surprised that it worked so well...cuz you know, it's dissonance lol I couldn't tell you anything about your tones, but I hope you hone in on what feels right to you! Hope you feel better dood!
Yup... I'm sprouting manly tears. The nostalgia hits me in the feels while that awesome solo got me banging my head. You made a beautiful song very epic and memorable. TvT
Mr. Iwata would be proud pal...
That moment when you find Scyther at the bug catching contest.
And lose the contest because someone caught a Weedle.
+The_Brawl_Unit I lol'd so true :( only managed to get that sunstone once as a kid and wasted it on a Sunflora.
XD so true
1:20 "A wild SCYTHER appears!"
Jesus what a coincidence, I was just thinking about that when listening the song
Hey, dude...
I was on a really bad mood...
And then I listened to this song, and then... It was suddenly much better
Thank you so much
agreed, i expected a rock cover, but got something even better.
The fuck? Did I mention awesome?
totally right lol
I have to say I really enjoy the diversity of this piece and it resonates with me deeply each and every note. It’s by far my favourite Pokemon game cover EVER of anyone’s. It’s a masterpiece.
Today is tuesday. That means the bug catching contest is on!
Oh damn it is Tuesday today I finally made it. Time to win this thing once and for all.
Jesus Jules, Not only did you inflict heavy nostalgia damage on me, but you reinvented the song completely, giving it a new vibe and incorporating your signature style. Well done, and keep up the good work! B.T.W, for the next Pokemon cover you do, please do Red's Theme. Thanks c:
Naaah. Cyinthia's theme :3
Jules Appel nah,Red&Rival Battle&Lance Battle is the most awesome theme of all the pokémon franchise
That drop is crazy
@@zoomsp91 It really is
I knew something insane would happen like that
I admit, I came to this video thinking it wouldn't capture the grace and serenity of the National Park theme, but this is beautiful. If feels homey and just makes me want to relax. Great job c:
Always nice to see the guitars do the singing instead of the human. Very well done epic song.
Love your rendition of National Park, well done :)
Mklachu, I also enjoyed you're Piano/Violin cover!
this... is so underrated. You gave a fresh new life to this song. It legit gave me some serious goosebumps @ 1:20
WTF, this shit blow my mind. This is my favorite Pokemon theme of all time, and this version is awesome, congratulations and thanks
cripii5 I KNOW RIGHT
6 years after this comment and i'm still here watching this awesome video
10 months of listening to this, and 1:21 still gives me goosebumps.

1:20 this part is so epic
This is my favorite song from the second generation, thanks!
When someone asks what your job is, just say "I blow people's minds for a living"
Another badass cover man. Never seen someone blend such awesome acoustic and metal covers like you do on the daily
Still think this is your most B-E-Autiful cover to date.

Go to hell all four of you
ArtforLife Those are bots, all by the same person. So this person can quite frankly go to hell four times
Strange now there are only three. I'm sure there were four before.
I think Lake of Rage still tops it, but it's fucken' up there.
So many memories of this song, I cried listening to this, thank you

Beginning : "Now that's a cool slow rock cover, I like th-"
1:19 : "... Jesus Freaking Christ, my childhood has just been remade."
RogersBase and #ThePokemonCartel approves.
I don't know what to say, but I feel the need to be the first to comment on a 6 year old verified comment. Quality music tastes nonetheless.
I literally teared up at 1:20. It was so beautiful, then it just....
you are art.
DUDE DUDE DUDE DUDE DUDE DUDE OH MY GOD THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING THING IVE EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE. WHEN THE DROP HIT IT WAS LIKE MY DEPRESSION GOT BLOWN AWAY.
God the change up is sublime. Still my favorite of your covers, and I come back to it often. That solo shortly after the change up is stellar
Man you did that flawlessly. I didn't know I wanted that covered till I heard it. Thanks for the great song/cover.
Dang! Great job on the mix here, man! I couldn't help but smile a bit when the distortion hit and my foot started rumbling about because I was resting it on my subwoofer. I'm personally having a shit ton of trouble getting a desired mesh of bass and clarity on my tracks.

You know, the beginning was so good, it's not often that you do something soothing like that, but when you do it just sends chills down my spine.
This is still one of my fav covers of all time
Also those quiet dynamics were fucking amazing btw. The beginning parts where you could just barely hear it was so quiet were *chef's kiss*
Every now and again I find myself coming back here. Even after 5 years the intro gets me in a way I don't know how to describe precisely, but there's probably a German word for it lol.

Pokéfan Beverly was my favorite trainer from there, but the Schoolboy would call and give you advice on certain moves' secret mechanics.
I love the beginnings of Lake of Rage, Ecruteak City and the complete version of this one so much that I really wish there would be more Pokémon covers like this. Especially the Gen 2 soundtrack is perfect for this.
Your covers are exceptional work and I hope you have great success in the future.
Man....this is just the best
That first minute or so, though... so chill! And then it begins to rock, which you always do so well. Great job, Jules! Can't wait for the next one!
Dude, I was having such a shitty day but this cover totally made my day. Thanks for doing this.
Especially loved the minor final breakdown and resolution into the "B" section. Wish you could have this play forever. So good!
You can tell he enjoys playing it as much as I enjoy listening to it.
Almost 7 years and I keep returning to this video whenever I want to listen to "National Park" :)
I think this is one of your best performances of the pokemon songs, Thank you bro for this interpretation
I've been searching for a cover/remix of this song that would captured the essence of rhe original; a calm start followed by some real jam. I can't believe I didn't hear your cover before, it's truly amazing, faithful to the original composition but it also has your style.

Loved the way the song started out mellowed and kicked in fiercely. Just like Bide...👏👏👏
SEVEN years and a few months later and this is still amazing. You are amazing my dude keep doing what ur doing
Chills every time. This has got to be my favorite cover of yours Jules. Beautifully executed
Absolutely sick.. a beautiful and shredtastic rendition of one of my favorite themes from the Pokemon games.
This was a nostalgia spin kick to the face!! Insane cover of an amazing classic! Can’t believe I found this so damn late
When the buildup from the start of the song hits at 1:19 👌
at first I didn't recognize the song, but later at 1:19 I kinda got a clue. I even had to listen to the original to see if I remembered about it, then it came to me; though I don't remember spending much time in PKMN National Park at all. Anyway, great work as always, jules! :)
So chill / relaxing and fierce at the same time, haha.
One of my favorite songs from G/S/C sagas.

Wonderfully jazzy cover! Great to know I'm not alone with the ''spring bullshit'', can't even count anymore how many tissue boxes I've gone through...
1:20 is were I started to almost die from the memories
Alguien sabe que tipo instrumento de guitarra electrica ha tocado?
2:47 that modulation just feels gooood.
Thank you so much. This is by far my favorite Pokemon song ever and maybe one of my favorite songs ever, and this cover does it justice. Beautiful in the beginning, and totally kickass afterwards. Thanks a ton. I don't know if I could ever stop listening to this.
Hands down one of my favorite covers you've done. Thanks for the years of great entertainment!
This was just amazing... it even made my tears come out... oh sweet youth where are you?
Best song, best played! I hear it every day! Thank you FamilyJules!
When I'm in the right mood, this cover gets me a little teary eyed. Good job, guy.
Yo man I love this song and I DEFINITELY love how you turned it into metal. Your riffs are awesome too dude! Major kudos to you
Damn, this sounds amazing!
I love how even your old stuff slaps.
I love how rich is the tone of your rhythm guitar. Fantastic work!!
Simply a masterpiece
FamilyJules7X Your face at 02:02 makes my heart lighter with happiness :) You look like you are really enjoying playing ^^
That solo was blistering! Holy shit!
The definition of paradox; family jules: the COOLEST NERD the planet ever saw. Love you bro.
Could you please make a future tutorial video on how to get such amazing tone with your equipment?
8年が経ちましたが、いつもこの動画に戻ってきます。心を落ち着かせるために。このギターカバー、ヤバすぎる!
Nice job on this on Jules. I love how you use your PRS as a less overbearing but still smooth sounding bass. And that dissonance; maybe I just don't listen to enough music, but I'm so surprised that it worked so well...cuz you know, it's dissonance lol

This gave me chill bumps on my entire body
1:20 when Cooltrainer Nick walks up to the bug catching contest
Dude, tears of joy and nostalgia... You're amazing.
1:50 this PLUS seeing the watch from goldeneye 64.... what a God... ❤
How to take rock n roll and make it feel relaxing with a hint of darkness
I've been waiting for this one for so long! Yess!
YOU ARE A GOD IN GUITAR TONES AND MIXING!!!! and just about everything else!
This is my favorite Pokémon song, and I love the spin you put on it.
You had me at the first three notes. Man, this is such a treat to listen to!
Your song has been featured by Truegreen7...
...when I hear the sudden switch to the power part... my jaw dropped... Such beauty...
This sounds like something I'd listen to in the car after a long day of work to wind down. Nicely done.
Come back here once in a while, god the feels
Thanks for the music! I absolutely love it! And it's people like you who do covers of songs like these that inspire me to keep on playin gitaur :D
This and the surf theme where my favorite songs from the second generation games, damn time flies...
I'm annoyed that I haven't heard you unto now. Incredible rendition.
Thank you, Jules.
This gave me chills, amazing
1:20 What brand is the guitar bro???
This takes back. Every time I listen to this I end up with a huge smile on my face. Very well done, sir :-)
Awesome job with this arrangement! It's such a cool song, I'm glad you covered it.
Yup... I'm sprouting manly tears. The nostalgia hits me in the feels while that awesome solo got me banging my head. You made a beautiful song very epic and memorable. TvT
This is my favorite place from the second gen games! Love this cover of it!
Cry, guitar, cry ...
