Amazing! Feel like i hit some weights! Powerful tool. Just had our first kiddo and a shared calendar would be helpful. Thanks for a great video, editing, concise messages, upbeat!
This is some great adjust to manage family to dos and anxiety with staying organized. Question: How do you rotate the 5 weeks of menus you have built inside the calendar. Do you set the meal to just run 5 weeks later? Maybe you have a video that speaks into this?
I AM WITH YOU! I don’t like cooking either so I started… buying meal preps from a local place near me… and guess what!? IT IS THE SAME PRICE of what my grocery bill. All I now buy for groceries now is snacks like apples, oranges, etc.
So neat! working on setting this up for using on my Hearth.... is the meal plan calendar on it's own gmail account/calendar account, or a different calendar on your account?
Hey Sarah, I really like the Google Calendar but I don't have access to all the sharing options. All the sharing options are greyed out. Make changes to events and make changes and manage sharing options are not available for my wife. How do I give my wife full access so she can make any changes she wants. We both want to be able to make changes and edit our Google Calendar. Thanks for much :)
Could you review how well the Echo Show 15 works as a family calendar? I really really want to go to google calendar and get digital but I can't get away from a large jumbo wall calendar.
Thank you for this video and all your organizational tips! I want to share Google calendar with my husband but would love to have a notification when he adds something in. Do you know if there's an option that allows it? Thank you in advance if you or anyone reading this know how to do that ! I will definitely check your ether videos !
I shared my calendar to my dad's but I dont see his stuff and he doesnt see mine. I set his permissions to be able to view and change things as necessary. The system just seems very overly complicated.
Hi! just found your channel and becoming a fan! From Norway here. I am going to start using google calendar for myself and my family after watching your videos. I have a couple of questions I hope you could answer: 1) We are a family of 3, where my son is only 1,5 years old. Would you have a separate calendar for him already? Or just includes his activities etc in the "Common" calendar. 2) Is it possible to rearrange the order/sequence of the different google calendars? Or is it stuck by alphabetic?
I set up the family link for my 7 year old and all of his sports and school events etc but my "family" calendar events won't show up in his google calendar... Any solution?? Also, I noticed that his google calendar doesn't have a family folder...
Omg…I love your content. I didn’t know about subscribing to the school calendars. Can you do a demo of how to create the type of calendars you spoke about? Thank you!!! Your info is such a great help!
Hi Sarah. Thanks for great content. 1) How would you handle if both teenagers have a lot of events together (homeschooled stuff) and I would like them both to be aware? Do I need to individually create the events under each of their calendars? 2) How do I schedule an apt under my son's calendar? Thanks a 1M.
PLEASE help!! I watched the video and have my calendars set up. They will not transfer to my husbands phone or google account on the computer. I have added him in the section you showed us and the sync button is on. PLEASE HELP
They are not showing on his Google account. But when he puts something on his calendar it shows up on mine. Thank you so much for replying! I am at my wits ends lol
@@FamilyTech This is the most frustrating issue for me with shared google calendars. There are so many helpful subscription calendars available today (calendars which are automatically updated, not a file which just adds static appointments) like sports, school and club calendars. With three kids in sports, having changes to practice or game locations automatically updated is such a time saver. But requiring each member to subscribe is also a pain. Something inevitably goes wrong, whether they didn't display the calendar appropriately or plainly just never subscribed (or, like my mother, don't know where to begin). It would be so much easier to have an administrator like account that can make subscribed calendars available to other members. Are you aware of a Power Automate flow or other resource that can help with this?
Hi Sarah, excellent channel 👏 Congrats. You offer great tips for everyone. Hope you get caught by YT algorithm and blow up. It's very useful. I've been watching video after video non stop. Regarding your meal plan, amazing idea. You create it once and you are set. I've been dabbling with the idea of a week plan but the stress of having to do that every week was putting me off completely. Thought that a monthly plan would be crazy but you excel that even more. Great. Would you be open to share it? It would be a great start for my own plan and I can say I'm not the only one thinking about it as an argument in favour 😀. Thanks either way 😊
The checkmarks would have nothing to do with the mobile app. Generally you would also need to checkmark it on the mobile app as well. The checkmarks on the web just control the web display (meaning which calendars you are currently viewing on the web)
OK I don't know if anyone reads these at this point but, WTF is a chicken pillow? Why did no one ask this till now? I stopped the video and started looking up recipes. I still don't think I know. Sounds awesome!
I don't understand why the kids need their own calendars / google calendars instead of just creating a calendar with their name (and then subscribing the children to that).
I understand how to share it but once shared how to the others access and put their info on it?
Amazing! Feel like i hit some weights! Powerful tool. Just had our first kiddo and a shared calendar would be helpful. Thanks for a great video, editing, concise messages, upbeat!
I find it a pain to handle tasks using the Google Calendar this way. Why can't they add shared tasks as a function.
@familytech Can you share your 8 week menu rotation? Do you rotate receipes based on season season?
Thanks a lot for the video, super helpful. What do you use for the recipe software that was showing up when you click on your menu planning?
Thanks!
I like the idea of a calendar for meals. Could you send me your meal calendar as an example and I can get some ideas for meals to plan for.
Once you get google calendars set up for the family,
How do you synch them to the iPhones?
This is some great adjust to manage family to dos and anxiety with staying organized. Question: How do you rotate the 5 weeks of menus you have built inside the calendar. Do you set the meal to just run 5 weeks later? Maybe you have a video that speaks into this?
yeah, the easiest is to set up recurring appointment every x weeks. Add event. Repeat. Custom. Repeat every x weeks.
I AM WITH YOU! I don’t like cooking either so I started… buying meal preps from a local place near me… and guess what!? IT IS THE SAME PRICE of what my grocery bill. All I now buy for groceries now is snacks like apples, oranges, etc.

Just a different calendar on my account
Do you offer your meal plan and shopping lists for purchase?

Incredibly simple explanation and a game changer :)
I am right now implementing your system for my family. It is really a game changer! The simplicity just tops everything else on the market!
Thank you! This was an excellent video and helped me and my family out a lot
Hi Sarah, would you be willing to share your children's google routine? I'm interested to learn more about that

Great content! We have a Skylight Calendar coming next week and looking for ways to organize Google calendars for me, my wife and our 5 kids!
Just so I’m understanding.. the members I’m sharing with have to have a Google gmail email address .. it can’t be another email address
Omg…I love your content. I didn’t know about subscribing to the school calendars. Can you do a demo of how to create the type of calendars you spoke about? Thank you!!! Your info is such a great help!
I'll do a couple shorts about it next week! Thanks!
@@FamilyTech wonderful! Thanks for being so accommodating! Appreciate all your help!
Love your ideas! I am looking forward toward trying them!
How did you set up the routine calendar?
I just enter recurring events that outline my day.
Why when I add another calendar it goes to other calendars instead of my calendar’s?
Are you creating a new calendar or are you subscribing to a calendar (like a school or a sports calendar)

On the web, are the new calendars showing up for him on the left?
They are not showing on his Google account. But when he puts something on his calendar it shows up on mine.
Thank you so much for replying! I am at my wits ends lol
How do you subscribe to a sports calendar and have it show up on the family calendar? Subscribing only puts it on my personal calendar
Calendars you subscribe to would only show up on your own calendar. You would need to subscribe to the calendar on every one's account in your family.

I have a calendar that's been unchecked on the web version. I just checked it and it still isn't showing up in the mobile app.

I'm *shocked* that this video doesn't have more views!
Thank you
Are you creating Google accounts for all of those calendars? Seems overwhelming?
I like cooking for people who aren't picky. . . which rules out most of my kids. 😅
yes cooking does give me anxiety lol
🥰
I don't understand why the kids need their own calendars / google calendars instead of just creating a calendar with their name (and then subscribing the children to that).
5:40 all that talking
I left lol
Thank you my god. How do you talk something so simple within seconds to 17 minutes..
Took 7min to get to the bloody point
Lots of ideas; no instructions. Not helpful at all.
OMFG! This is the most painful how to video I’ve tried to watch! Get to the fucking point!!! I stopped it 7 minutes in.
