Mamie van Doren came to our house one time to see our Persian kittens (with papers). Her hairdresser and body guard came with her. She sat with us in the bedroom, where the kittens were in a playpen with their mother. She visited with us like she had all the time in the world. I was about 15, but she looked me also, as she talked, just like she looked at my mother and our friend, so as not to leave me out. She was so delightful and kind! She wore pants and a cable knit sweater, so she did not look like her photos, but her face was just as beautiful. She didn’t buy a kitten, since she decided she wanted a girl, and we had only boys. But her visit with us in our modest home is still one of the enduring highlights of my life! 💗

Of course, being a healthy male of 55 years, barely remember her work as it was originally released, but she’s a force for me to be informed of. Few people really remember her works & finding reliable memories of her is next to impossible. So, again, THANKS! I first met Mamie over 20 years ago. She and I got along very well. I still talk with her every week. She is genuine and sweet. She has written a second autobiography which will fill in some of the subjects she discussed in her previous one plus some new material that will shock plenty of her fans. She is very alive and well.
I love that sometimes Mamie Van Doren will comment on my posts on her X account. She still keeps up on current events shows her humour occasionally and i feel still appreciates her fan base. An amazing icon in my opinion.❤

She also had a memorable in "The Beat Generation." They called her "the girl who invented rock and roll." Truly stunning persona. I wish her happiness and blessings.

I do wish you could upload some shots of Mamie Van Doren when she was training for stardom at Universal International studios during the years 1953-55. During this period, she worked alongside my fave actress Lisa Gaye in such films as Hawaiian Nights, Yankee Pasha and Ain't Misbehavin. Behind-the-scenes shots from these films with Lisa and Mamie would be invaluable. There was much coverage [in movie mags] of the girls having voice lessons, fencing and horseback riding, fashion layouts and, of course, dancing with instructor, Kenny Williams plus exercising to give them those hour-glass figures. I reiterate footage from these training sessions would be most invaluable!!! Kindly oblige and thanks in advance.
